Lexington Blvd., Milwaukee. Surviving her are her husband, four sons, four daughters, eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Boettcher's great-grandson was born November 16, 1943, and was an event which she had long awaited. Mrs. Boettcher was a member of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church and a member of its Fraunverein. Mrs. Boettcher's family had grown and moved to various parts of the country, and she was able to commute many times between Kiel, California, Montana, and Oregon to visit her family. She took great pride in these travels and often related to her many friends in Kiel little stories of her visits, taking in eight winters and two summers in California, and four trips to Oregon and Montana. Since 1939, Mrs. Boettcher made her home in Milwaukee. Funeral services will be held (today) Thursday afternoon at the Helden & Lange Funeral Home, 3116 N. Third street, Milwaukee, and she will be put to rest at the Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery. (Dec. 6, 1943 handwritten on the obituary, no newspaper cited) ********* From Sheboygan county death records: August Boettcher (v.53 p.372) Widower of Johanna Ruck April 5, 1862-Dec. 25, 1946 Son of Carl Boettcher, with mother unknown (both born Germany) Born Pammen, Germany Died from “chronic myocarditis, 2 years –general arteriosclerosis” Buried at Valhalla Cemetery ********* August Boettcher Dies Saturday Friends here were notified Saturday of the death of a former resident, August Boettcher, who had passed away that afternoon at one o'clock at the Anna M. Reiss home for the aged in Sheboygan, Mr. Boettcher had reached the age of 84 years. The deceased was born in Germany in 1863. He came to America in 1892, coming directly to Kiel. In the year 1897 he was married to Johanna Boettcher, and the couple made their home in Kiel. In October, 1936, Mr. Boettcher entered the Anna M. Reiss home. Mr. Boettcher had been in good health up until April 25, 1946, on his birthday, when he became ill, and was removed to St. Nicholas hospital in Sheboygan. He remained there for two weeks. He suffered bad limbs due to the hardening of arteries, which was the cause of many falls. Two weeks prior to his death, he had a bad fall and was confined to his bed since that time. While living in Kiel Mr. Boettcher was employed for many years with the railroad crew, and several years at the Wooden Ware factory, and lastly at the Kiel Furniture factory. He was a member of the Kiel Krieger Verein. Mrs. Boettcher preceded her husband in death in 1943. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Martha Wells, Mrs. Anna McKee and Mrs. Erna Bastian of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Helen Koch of Beaver Dam; three sons, Arthur of Square Butte, Mon., William of Colgate, and Fred Boettcher of Rice Lake; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Burial took place on Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Anna M. Reiss home, and cremation followed at the Vahalla cemetery in Milwaukee. (1-2-1947 handwritten on the obituary-no newspaper named)
