********
Mrs. Jesse Cornish is my great great grandmother.
Lillie M Griswold (1851-1922). She was born in Ashtabula Co., Ohio
on Sep 18, 1851 and died on May 29, 1922. She was living in Minnesota
before her death so we figure she is buried there but we can not find
the grave. She married Jesse Cornish on Mar 28, 1870 in Juneau Co. WI.
This was a very patriotic family. Jesse's grand father Gabriel Cornish
served in the Revolutionary War.
From History and Genealogy of the Cornish Families in America comes,
"he served during the entire war of the Revolution, took part in the
battles of Saratoga and Manmouth, was an eye-witness of the execution
of Major Andre, and of the surrender of Burgoyne and Cornwallis, and
wintered with Washington at Valley Forge."
