John B. Hanert, 86, of 909 Seventh street, died shortly before midnight Sunday 
at his home following a short illness. Born June 20, 1862, at St. Anna, the son 
of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Hanert, the deceased was married to Mary Twiba of St. 
Anna on Nov. 19, 1890. The couple settled on the Hanert homestead farm, one-half 
mile west of St. Anna, before moving to Kiel in 1908.  Prior to his retirement 
in 1930, Mr. Hanert was employed as a teamster at the Kiel Woodenware company 
for 22 years.  He was a member of the Holy Name society of Ss. Peter and Paul 
Catholic church at Kiel.  Survivors include one daughter, Miss Jennie Hanert, 
Kiel, a son, Joseph of Milwaukee, and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Rack, St. Anna, 
and Mrs. L.P. Fox of Chilton.  His wife died May 27, 1930.  Three brothers and 
two sisters preceded him in death.  Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. 
Wednesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home and at 10:30 a.m. at Ss. Peter and 
Paul church.  The Rev. F.X. Kheil, pastor, will be the celebrant of the solemn 
requiem high mass.  He will be assisted at the altar by the Rev. Edward 
Westenberger, Green Bay, a nephew of the deceased, and the Rev. C. P. Kern, a 
cousin.  Burial will be made in St. Ann’s cemetery.  Members of the Holy Name 
society of Ss. Peter and Paul parish will recite the rosary at the church at 
7:30 p.m. Tuesday.  The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Tuesday 
noon until the time of the services.

John B. Hanert Laid To Rest
John B. Hanert, aged 86, who was ill only a short time, died at his home
at 909 Seventh street, this city, shortly before midnight Sunday. Funeral
services were held at 9:30 o'clock this Wednesday morning at the Meiselwitz
Funeral home, and at 10:30 a.m. at the Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church,
with Rev. F.X. Kheil being the celebrant of the solemn requiem high mass.
He was assisted at the altar by the Rev. Edward Westenberger of Green Bay,
a nephew of the deceased, and the Rev. C.P. Kearn, a cousin, of St. Anna.
Burial was made in the St. Ann cemetery.

Mrs. J.B. Hanert
Following an operation on Friday, Mrs. J.B. Hanert died at the Plymouth
hospital Tuesday morning, at the age of 63 years.
The deceased, nee Mary Turba, was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Anton Turba, and was born Dec. 13, 1867 at St. Anna, the home of her
parents where she grew to womanhood, and on Nov. 19, 1891, she was united
in marriage to J.B. Hanert in a ceremony performed at the St. Ann's church.
From the time of their marriage until 1908 they made their home on a farm
near St. Anna, after which they moved to Kiel, where they have since re-
sided.
Surviving her besides her husband are a daughter, Miss Jennie at home; one
son, Joseph of Milwaukee; and two brothers, Joseph Turba of Sheboygan and
John Turba of St. Anna. Funeral services will be held Friday morning, at
8 o'clock at the home, and at 8:30 at the Sts. Peter and Paul church, 
where the Rev. A. Roder will perform the last rites. Burial will be made
in the St. Anna cemetery, and will be preceded by services at the St. Ann's
church at 10 a.m., Rev. J.H. Schmitt officiating.
