Chilton, Wis (Special) George Hoffmann, 73 years old, died 
Wednesday at his home in Charlesburg. Born June 29, 1864, 
in Marytown, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Hoffmann, he 
was married to Miss Elizabeth Nisler in Charlesburg on 
April 18, 1892. He was a member of the Holy Name society 
of St. Charles church. 
Survivors are the widow; two sons, August and Joseph; two 
daughters, Mrs. Ferdinand Leitner of New Holstein and Miss 
Anna at home; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Lodes 
of Jericho and Mrs. Katherine Kuehnl of Brothertown, and one 
brother, Joseph, of Charlesburg. 
Funeral services will be held Saturday at St. Charles church with 
burial in St. Charles cemetery. The Rev. L. F. Binder will officiate.

Mrs. Elizabeth Hoffmann, 91, died Thursday noon after a two day 
illness at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. 
Norbert Koehler, St. John Calumet County. 
Mrs. Hoffmann was born in Charlestown April 4, 1864, a daughter 
of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Nisler. April 18, 1893 she married 
George Hoffmann at St. Charles Catholic Church in Charlesburg. 
The couple lived on a farm south of Charlesburg until the death of 
Mr. Hoffmann in 1938. Three years later Mrs. Hoffman moved to the 
Koehler home and has lived there since. 
Survivors are two sons, Joseph of New Holstein and August of St. 
John, two daughters, Mrs. Ferdinand (Theresa) Leitner of New Holstein 
and Mrs. Robert (Anna) Koehler of St. John, 11 grandchildren and 
eight great grandchildren. 
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, 
three sisters and a brother. 
Funeral services will be held at the Erbe-Hoffmann Funeral Home 
in Chilton and a solemn requiem high mass will be offered at St. Charles 
Catholic Church in Charlesburg. Officials of the mass will be Rev. Francis 
J. Melchiors, pastor and celebrant, the Rev. Leonard Woefel of St. John's, 
deacon and the Rev. Lambert Scanlon of New Holstein, sub deacon.

George Hoffmann and his wife Elizabeth Nisler are both buried 
at the St. Charles Cemetery, Town of Brotherton, Calumet co.. 
Elizabeth was born in 1864 and died in 1955.  George Hoffmann's 
parents are also buried in the same cemetery.  His parents were 
Andrew Hoffmann (Feb. 7, 1826-Nov. 25, 1913) and 
Margaret Dieling (Jan. 24, 1832-March 1, 1900).

Frank is the older brother of Mathilda Holdenried Schroeder (she is also in the photos). 
Frank was the eldest child of Joseph Holdenried and Anna Blaese. He was born about 1868, 
while Mathilda was born about 1870. The Holdenried family lived in the Town of New 
Holstein.
