George Keenan, 72, former local resident, and at one time Sheboygan 
county board supervisor of Elkhart Lake, where he also resided several 
years, passed away at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and 
Mrs. Ed. J. Herriges at Random Lake, Sunday morning at 7:10 o'clock.
The deceased was born in the town of Russell June 1, 1868. His wife, the 
former Cecelia DeLaHunt of Little Falls, Minnesota, died 11 years ago.
For several years he conducted a dairy business and milk route in
Elkhart Lake, and for the past several years has lived with his daughter.
Survivors are two sons and two daughters, namely: Mrs. Ed. J. Herriges
of Random Lake, Mrs. Harold Brennan of Valders, George of Milwaukee,
and Thomas of Waukesha, and a brother, Thomas of Milwaukee.
Funeral services were held this Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock from the
D.G. Wilk Funeral Home at Random Lake, and at 10 o'clock services were
conducted at the St. George Catholic church at Elkhart Lake, with burial
being made in the St. Anna cemetery.
Mr. Keenan was a charter member and past president of St. Anna's branch,
Catholic Knights of Wisconsin and was a member of the Holy Name Society
of the St. George church at Elkhart Lake, and St. Mary's church at Random
Lake. While at Elkhart Lake he was consultor at St. George's church, and
until his retirement in 1917, Mr. Keenan had been on the Sheboygan County
Board for six successive years. He was a member of the mediation and tax
claims committees.

Former Town of Russell Teacher Dies at Elkhart.  Elkhart Lake. –
Mrs. George Keenan, nee Miss Cecelia De La Hunt, former Town Russell school teacher, 
died at her home here at 9 p.m. Tuesday after a lengthy illness.  Deceased was born 
in Town Russell June 24, 1872, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James De La Hunt.  She 
was married to George Kennan at Little Falls, Minnesota, February 1, 1900, and later 
the couple returned to Town Russell, where they made their home for seven years.  
After residing at Kiel for a year they came to this place and have since resided here.  
Deceased is survived by her husband, four children, Mrs. Ed ...das and Mrs. Harold 
Brennan, Valders; George Jr. of Madison and Thomas of this village; three brothers, 
James De La Hunt of Little Falls, Ed of St. Paul and Walter of Wilmar, Minnesota; and 
four sisters, Mrs. Nora Randall and Mrs. Bridget Gannon of Little Falls, Mrs. Mary 
O’Neill of Minneapolis and Mrs. Kate O’Shea, also of Minneapolis. One sister preceded 
her in death at Tacoma, Washington, five years ago.  Funeral services were held Friday 
at 10 a.m. from St. George Catholic church here, with interment in St. Anna cemetery. 
The Rev. Father Felix Sippel will officiate.  The Christian Mothers of which deceased 
was member will attend the last sad rites in a body.
