90th Birthday Anniversary Observance Is Held In City

The family of Mrs. John Klauck gave enjoyment to her by planning an open house
observance of her 90th birthday on Tuesday. Relatives, neighbors and friends called
at her home, 1116 Licoln avenue, during afternoon and evening hours. Gifts, flowers,
a purse of money from her sons and daughters, and innumerable greeting cards
gave added pleasure to the nonagenarian's day.
St. Ann was the birthplace of the former Kuhnie Winter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William Winter, and the date was May 8, 1861. Her marriage to John Klauck took
place Nov. 10, 1885. After the wedding the couple lived in Kiel and moved to
Sheboygan 25 years ago. Mr. Klauck passed away in June, 1946.
Advanced years have not affected the health of Mrs. Klauck, who is very spry. She
and her daughter, Miss Anna Slauck, live together and she assists with the house work.
Crocheting is a favorite hobby and gardening until last season was another activity in
which she found delight. Reading, too, is a pastime. Mrs. Klauck belongs to Holy
Name church.
Daughters and sons are Mrs. Emma Graf, Mrs. Jacob Henschel, Arthur Klauck, the
three of Kiel, Edward Klauck, New Holstein, Miss Anna Klauck, Mrs. Joseph
Schnur, Mrs. Harry Bohnsack, Sheboygan. There are 15 grandchildren and 19
great-grandchildren in the family group.
