Klessig and C. Hednich ******** Christoph's full name was Christoph Fredrich Klessig. He was born in the Town of Rockland, Manitowoc County on April 22, 1864. He worked as both a farmer and a cheese maker. He then moved to Antigo to live with his older brother Otto (this Otto was a twin to the Louis in the photos). Otto at the time operated a tavern in Antigo. While living in Antigo, he met and then married Caroline Schliemann. They likely were married in Calumet County as this was near where the Klessig home farm was located. After the marriage, Christoph and Caroline moved to Curtiss, Town of Hoard, Clark County. They operated a farm in Clark County. Christoph died on April 20, 1949 at Curtiss, Clark County. According to his marriage record, Christoph Klessig was born in Sheboygan County. According to the family history, he was born on April 22, 1864 in the Town of Rockland. He was then "christened' in the Town of Mosel, Sheboygan County on Dec. 25, 1864. Both the Klessig and Wagner families originated in Mosel. ******* Caroline Johanne Lena Schlieman was born on Jan. 12, 1872 in Raduhm, Mecklenburg, Germany of Jochim Schlieman and Maria Stecker.
