Augusta (Thiessen) Meyer

The Augusta Thiessen is a sister to Adolphine Thiessen Arps and 
Herman Thiessen in these photos. She was thus likely born in the 
Town of New Holstein. Her parents are Peter M. Thiessen and 
Catharina M. Glasshof (both born Germany).

Mrs. Augusta Thiessen Meyer, 83, a former town of New 
Holstein resident died of a lingering illness at her 
home in Chicago late Wednesday morning.  She was born 
in the town of New Holstein Sept. 9, 1872, a daughter 
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thiessen. She attended 
district school No. 1 and later went to Chicago and 
married Anthony Meyer there.  She is survived by a 
daughter, Miss Gertrude Meyer of Chicago and four 
brothers, Frederick of Jefferson, Wisconsin, Edward 
of Brillion, Ernest of New Holstein and Rudolph of 
Sturgeon Bay.  
Funeral services will be held in Chicago at 2 p.m. 
Saturday. Burial will be made in a Chicago cemetery.
