Joseph Turba Passes Away At Elkhart Lake
Joseph Turba, 84-year-old Elkhart Lake resident, passed away at 
2:15 p.m. Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emil Zorn,
326 Franklin st., Plymouth, following a short illness.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1863, in St. Anna, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Anton Turba. On Nov. 13, 1888, he was married to Miss Josephine
Merk. She died on April 23, 1891.
On Nov. 26, 1891, Mr. Turba was married to Miss Lena Meyer. After
their marriage the couple operated farms in Sheboygan county until
1924. For some time they resided in Kiel. From 1924 to 1938 Mr.
Turba was employed by the H.C. Prange Co. in Sheboygan. They moved
to Plymouth in 1940 and in 1947 moved to Elkhart Lake.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Hugo of Hartland and Arno
of Sheboygan; two daughters, Mrs. Henry (Joseph) Free of Fresno,
Calif., and Mrs. Emil (Dionysia) Zorn of Plymouth; seven grand-
children; six great-grandchildren. One brother and one sister
preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Gentine 
Funeral home at Plymouth, and at 9:30 o'clock at St. George's 
Catholic church in Elkhart Lake, with the Rev. Henry Langenfeld
officiating. Burial was made in the St. Anna cemetery.
