The land record below comes from the Manitowoc County land records - the immigration information comes from Michael's naturalization papers. As you can note, the information in his wife's obit in Der Nord Westen is in many places incorrect. Michael came to America in 1853 and has land records to prove he purchased property in the Township of Eaton in 1855. Perhaps rather than 1873, the obit meant 1853. On the 1870 Town of Eaton Census, his wife's name is shown incorrectly or her name was Christine Auguste or Auguste Christine. Both Michael and Christine are buried in Cemetery #78.
