FRANK M. KNADLE Frank M. Knadle, 55, Wold War II veteran and an accountant for the City of Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Thursday noon at his home, 22? LaFollette Ave., Manitowoc. He had a heart attack. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. The Rev. E. A. Radey will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Knadle was born in the Town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, March 12, 1903, son of the late Joseph and Mary Litel Knadle. He attended elementary schools at Stangelville high school at Kewaunee, State Teachers College at Oshkosh and the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Following his graduation from the latter school he served with the armed forces from August of 1942 to July of 1946 with the Anti-Aircraft Artillery in New Caledonia and Japan. He married Norma Wacek at Manitowoc June 22, 1946. The couple resided at Madison where for six years he was an accountant in the office of the state adjutant general. Since their return to Manitowoc, Mr. Knadle had been employed by the city. He was a member of the W. Club of the university. Surviving are his wife, two brothers, Arthur, of Stangelville and Edward, of Dayton, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 o’clock this Friday evening. NORMA KNADLE Norma Knadle, age 87, a resident of St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, formerly of 2241 LaFollette Ave., Manitowoc, died early Tuesday morning, June 15, 1999, at St. Mary's Home. Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Mathew Simonar with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. She was born July 11, 1911, in the town of Franklin, Kewaunee County, daughter of the late Joseph and Antonie Valenta Wacek. Norma was employed by several families in the Manitowoc area in domestic care and catering for many years. She married Frank M. Knadle in 1946 in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1959. Norma was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and Christian Women of the church. She volunteered many hours of work in various capacities at the church over the years. Norma is survived by nieces, nephews, along with other relative and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Knadle; two brothers, Joseph Jr. in infancy and Edward Wacek; three sisters, Rose Wiltman, Violet Lukes and Otellia Streeter. HELEN M. KNAUTZ (d. 1967) Mrs. Henry Kneutz, 67, of 3507 Meadow Ln., Manitowoc, died Wednesday noon at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, where she was a patient four weeks. Funeral services will be at 9:30 Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Mrs. Kneutz, was born the former Helen Reinert, April 5, 1900, at Milwaukee, daughter of the late Adam and Mary Vanderlou Reinert. She was married to Mr. Kneautz Oct. 5, 1918, at Manitowoc and resided there since. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Altar Society, Eagles Auxiliary and Manitowoc Homemakers Club. HENRY KNAUTZ Henry D. Kneutz(sic), 73, of 3507 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc, died Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Duane Dionne will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion. Mr. Kneutz was born Dec. 11, 1899, at Kenosha, son of the late Gustave and Augusta Kneutz. He married Helen Reinert Oct. 5, 1918, at Manitowoc. She preceded him in death June 14, 1967. Mr. Kneutz was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc., retiring in 1964. He was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of American Legion Drews-Bleser Post No. 88 and 25 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 706, of Manitowoc. EVA KNECHTEL DIES AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS Mrs. Eva Knechtel, 82, To Be Laid To Rest Monday Mrs. Eva Knechtel, 82, widow of a Civil War veteran and sister of three, died at her home, 1927 South 19th street, at 12:30 Friday afternoon following an illness of less than two weeks. Death was attributed to complications brought about by old age. Funeral on Monday Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 8:30 from the home and at nine o’clock from the St. Andrews Catholic church. Burial will be made in the Calvary cemetery. Born February 19, 1853, nee Eva Pitsch, in Germany, Mrs. Knechtel came to this country at the age of 18 months with her parents. They settled in the town of Newton. She was married in 1878 to Theodore Knechtel, who died in 1890. Her husband fought in the Northern army during the Civil War. Three brothers also served during the war. Two of them, Peter and John Peter, fought for the north, and the third, Nicholas, fought for the south. All three brothers are dead. Mrs. Knechtel came to Manitowoc in 1888. Four Children Survive Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Catherine Belinski and Mrs. Della Rugowski, both of Manitowoc, two sons, Joseph and Steve, both of Manitowoc, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. DALE J. KNICKELBINE Dale J. Knickelbine, age 76, of 104 Evelyn Lane, Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 2, 2007, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was born June 6, 1930, in Manitowoc, son of the late Marvin and Evelyn (Monka) Knickelbine. Dale was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class of 1948. He then served with the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952. On Sept. 27, 1952, he married the former Judith Kuechmann at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Dale was employed with Vinton Construction Company for many years until his retirement in 1992. He was also a 50 year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 139 and a former member of the Manitowoc Gun Club. Survivors include his wife: Judith Knickelbine, Manitowoc; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Jim Knickelbine and Sue Schum-Knickelbine, Denmark; Andy Knickelbine and fiancee: Jennifer Blashe, Manitowoc; a daughter: Mary Knickelbine, and special friend: Bob Finke, Columbia Heights, Minn.; three grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew and Emma Knickelbine; and two brothers and a sister-in-law: Lee and Paula Knickelbine, Manitowoc; John Knickelbine and special friend: Emily Jackson, Evanston, Ill.; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. CATHERINE A. KNIER Catherine A. Knier, 79, of 3828 N. 30th St., Sheboygan, formerly of School Hill, died early Saturday morning, Jan. 13, 1996, at Heritage Nursing Home in Sheboygan where she had been a resident for the past two weeks. She is the former Catherine Schwoerer, born March 22, 1916, in St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Anton and Christina Kaltenbrun Schwoerer. She attended St. Gregory Catholic School in St. Nazianz. On Oct. 6, 1936, she married John F. Knier at St. Gregory Catholic Church in St. Nazianz. The couple farmed in the town of Meeme for 55 years, retiring in 1977. John died Jan. 28, 1995. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in School Hill. She also belonged to the Christian Women of the church. Catherine enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing. JOSEPH C. KNIER Joseph C. Knier, age 59, of 1337 Hazelwood Drive, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at the family residence. Joe was born on Aug. 7, 1949, in Sheboygan. He was the son of the late Isadore and Valeria (Klemme) Knier. Joe was a graduate of Valders High School with the class of 1967. He then entered the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed overseas in Thailand. Joe was presently employed with Martin's Securities. On Feb. 8, 1974, he married Mary Flaim at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Joe was a member of the Eagles Aerie Club 706 of Manitowoc. His passion was working on computers. CHESTER C. KNIPP Chester Knipp, age 73, of 3417 South 10th Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, October 30, 1991. EUGENE KNIPP Eugene J. Knipp, 43, of 3813 Lindburgh Drive, Manitowoc, died Thursday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following an illness of several months. Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. at the Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Mr. Knipp was born Sept. 1, 1913, at Manitowoc and as a youth attended St. Mary Parochial School and the Manitowoc School of Adult and Vocational Education. He was employed at the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. from 1930 to 1939 and from then to 19?4 at the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. Recently he was employed at the Appleton Machiune Co., Appleton. In 1941 he married Clara Bensen at Manitowoc. Mr. Knipp was a member of Boiler Makers Local 443, AFL-CIO. JANE M. KNIPP Jane M. Knipp, age 87, of resident at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, formerly of 3417 South 10th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Friday, December 23, 2011, at the care center. Jane was born on April 5, 1924, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Laura Alft Reitmeier. Jane was a graduate of Green Bay West High School and had been employed at Hamilton Manufacturing for 25 years. On October 23, 1944, she married Chester C. Knipp. He preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Connors, Ohio; Cynthia L. Knipp-Jones and her husband Jeff Jones, Manitowoc, WI: four grandchildren, one sister, Mildred Droste, CA; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. MARIE J. KNOERNSCHILD Marie Josine Knoernschild, age 94, of 2201 LaFollette Ave., Manitowoc, died Friday, July 6, 2001, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 9, 2001 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Ronald Reimer officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Marie was born March 29, 1906 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Albert and Clara Baumeister Zingsheim. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School Class of 1923. She married George J. Knoernschild on Aug. 21, 1928 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc, he preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1969. Marie worked at the National Tinsel Company for over 15 years as a bookkeeper. She was then employed at the Manitowoc County Courthouse for over 17 years as an Assistant Deputy Clerk of Courts retiring in 1971. Survivors include her cousin, Hilary Wachtel, Two Rivers; other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. RICHARD A. KNOTEK KNOTEK MR. RICHARD A. Racine, WI. Passed away on Saturday, October 16, 1989, at Si Mary's Medical Center at the age of 62 years. Richard was born in Chicago, IL., on August 2, 1927, to Joseph C. and Marie (nee: Votova) Knotek. He was united in marriage on December 17, 1982 in Waukegan, IL, to Linda L. (nee: Johnson). Mr. Knotek had served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was currently employed by the J.I. Case Company as a steamfitter for the past 23 years. Richard was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, a life member of the V.F.W. post 10301, past commander of the V.F.W. and was currently adjutant of the V.F.W., and a life mem•ber of the Military order of the Cootie. Surviving are his wife Linda, one daughter and son-in-law, Margaret R. (Randy) Erickson, of Franklin, WI.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard R. (Debra) of Marquette, MI., Kevin J. of Moose Pass, AK., and James M. Knotek, of Marquette. MI.; one stepson and step-daughter-in-law, Michael (Martha) Ruchhoeft, of CO.; four step-daughters and two step-sons-in-law, Michelle (Achille) Cortese, of Racine, Marjorie (Noel) Desprio, of Altus, OK., Maureen Ruchhoeft, of Boston, MA., Melissa Ruchhoeft of Boston, MA : five grandchildren, Christopher, Neal, and Meghan Erickson, Nathan and Zachary Knotek; five step-grandchildren, Rebecca, Elizabeth, and Monica Ruchhoeft, and Joey and Mena Cortese. Also surviving are two brothers and one sister-in-law, Joseph Knotek, of Chicago, IL, and George (Rita) Knotek, of Downers Grove, IL; two sisters and three brothers-in-law, Josephine (Matt) Goebel, of Elcorn, WI., Monica (Mark) Anderson, of LaCrosse. WI., and Clare Liermann of IL. Richard is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marie Knotek; one brother, Wencil Knotek, and sisters, Dorothy Knotek and Mary Liermann. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m at St. Edwards Catholic Church, located at 1430 Grove Ave., with Fr. Charles Wester officiating. JOSEPH W. KNOX Joseph W. Knox, age 88, of Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon, Nov. 7, 2008, at the Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born Dec. 27, 1919, in the town of Liberty, son of the late John and Elizabeth (Schneider) Knox. He graduated with the class of 1938 from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc. Joe enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1941. He went overseas to the South Pacific in 1942 to Papua New Guinea. Joe flew 46 missions as a Canoneer and Upper Turret Gunner on a B-25 Mitchell Medium Bomber. He earned several overseas service bars and medals, including two Bronze Battle Stars and the Good Conduct Medal. Joe was honorably discharged in September 1946. While on leave, he married Phyllis Graczykowski on March 25, 1944, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Joe was a member of the Young Men's Club and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grand- children. Joe enjoyed going on fishing trips with his son, (private), and grandsons, (private). He loved playing horseshoes at family gatherings and cribbage with his son-in-law, (private). He took pride in the appearance of his home and yard. Joe was always there to help everyone. After retiring from the Aluminum Specialty Company, Joe volunteered at Peter's Pantry for many years. He was a devoted husband and father. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) KATHERINE KNOX Katherine A. Knox, age 95, a resident of Brillion West Haven, Brillion, WI., formerly of Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Monday, Nov. 24, 2014 at West Haven Assisted Living in Brillion. Katherine was born on May 6, 1919 in Cleveland, WI., daughter of the late Henry J. and Anna (Neilitz) Schmitt. She attended St. Wendel Parochial School in Cleveland. On June 16, 1943 she married Ralph T. Knox at St. Wendel Catholic Church, Cleveland. The couple lived in Osman for seven years and moved to Manitowoc in 1950. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1999. Katherine held various part time jobs while raising their four children. She was employed as an electric shop took clerk during World War II. She was also employed as a school lunch cook at St. Paul Catholic Church for 10 years and retired from Schuette's Outlet as a sales clerk. Katherine was a former member of St. Paul's Adoration Society, Christian Mother's Society, the Martha Choir of St. Paul's and the Daughters of Isabella. She loved her family, gardening and playing bridge and sheepshead. PHYLLIS KNOX Phyllis K. (Graczykowski) Knox, age 88, of Manitowoc, died on Monday morning, April 27, 2009, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc. She was born on Dec. 13, 1920, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Kluczykowski) Graczykowski. Phyllis graduated from Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1939. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Sindelar Bakery for many years and also at Park Drug Store. She volunteered at St. Mary School, was a Girl Scout leader, and belonged to the Rosary & Altar Society of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. On March 25, 1944, she married Joseph W. Knox at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2008. Phyllis loved to bake and was famous for her banana, pumpkin and zucchini breads. Her family, friends and neighbors will remember these delicious treats, which she shared with everyone. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Phyllis especially missed her loving husband of 65 years and for the last six months it was her wish to be re-united with him. We will miss you, Mom, but we know you and Dad are now together again. ALBERT KOCH Albert Koch, 72, died Sunday morning at his home on Manitowoc route 3 after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock from the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 o’clock from St. Andrew’s Catholic church with the Rev. Henry Letz officiating. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Koch was born near the city on March 21, 1871, and lived here all his life. He followed the carpenter trade for many years, retiring about 15 years ago. He never married. CATHERINE KOCH (d. 1898) We have a report of two deaths in the family of South Main Street resident Mathias Koch. On Sun. his mother-in-law, widow Monica Aumann, died of old age debility at the age of 87 yrs. 5 mos. 26 days. Mrs. Aumann, who leaves 7 children and countless grandchildren, was among the best known ladies of our city, having served as a mid-wife for many years. Despite her advanced age she enjoyed, until a short while ago, good health and could be seen moving about the streets of our city. Her funeral took place Tues. morning from the Catholic Church. After returning from the funeral, Mrs. Mathias Koch, the daughter of the just buried lady, suffered a cerebral stroke and also passed away. She was 46 yrs. 4 mos. 13 days of age and leaves a husband and 3 children mourning her unanticipated death. Her funeral will take place this afternoon at the Catholic Cemetery. CATHERINE KOCH (d. 1940) Mrs. David Koch, 55, of Manitowoc route 3, died at 1:15 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital after a lingering illness. Mrs. Koch, nee Catherine Schneider, was born April 20, 1874 in Chicago. She was married to Mr. Koch Aug. 16, 1910, and the couple moved to Manitowoc in 1921. Surviving besides the widower is one brother Jacob of Chicago. Mrs. Koch was a member of St. Theresa’s society of St. Andrew church members of which will recite the rosary at the Pfeffer funeral home at 7:30 o’clock Tuesday evening. DAVID H. KOCH David Koch, 67, of route 3, Manitowoc, retired carpenter and lifelong resident of Manitowoc, died early today at the Holy Family hospital, following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 a.m. at the St. Andrews Catholic church, the Rev. Henry Letz officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Koch was born in 1877 and for years was employed as a carpenter at the Kingsbury Breweries company. He retired three years ago. DEPAUL KOCH "I have run the race and fought the good fight." These words of St. Paul were appropriated by DePaul. After 89 years of Life, 66 of which were in marriage to Bernadette, Paul died peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2004. De Paul was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on February 27, 1915, son of the late Michael and Phoebe (Stoneman) Koch. De Paul is survived by his wife, Bernadette; his children: Kathleen (Tom) Netzel, Newton, Iowa; Fr. David Koch, Neenah; Barbara (Michael) Hughes, Virginia Beach, Virginia; Ann (George) Giorgianni, Alpharetta, Georgia; Mary Walker, McAllen, Texas; Margaret (Kevin) Sullivan, Pleasant Valley, New York; Jane (David ) Ralls, Reva, Virginia; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. HAZEL D. KOCH Hazel D. Koch, age 77, of 1121 Flambeau St., Manitowoc, died Friday, January 1, 1999, at St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 1999, at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Officiating at the services will be Rev. Hazel was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1938. On August 10, 1942, she married Irvin Koch at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. Hazel was very active at St. John’s United Church of Christ. She was a Sunday School superintendent, teacher, she sang in the choir and participated in many other church functions. Hazel also ran the Monroe School Library for many years until her retirement in 1983. JOHN KOCH (d. 1939) John Koch, resident of this city since 1861, died this morning at the home, 1030 South 13th St., after having suffered several strokes. He would have been 80 years old the 28th of this month. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 8:30 a.m. from the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 o’clock at St. Boniface Catholic church, with burial at Calvary cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 7 o’clock tonight until the hour of the funeral. Mr. Koch was born in Germany on Sept. 28, 1859, and he came to America and immediately to Manitowoc with his parents in 1861. He married Theresa Stockert here in 1883. Before his retirement because of ill health several years ago, he had been an employee of the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. JOHN KOCH (d. 1961) John M. Koch, 74, former Manitowoc electrical contractor and appliance shop operator, died Monday afternoon at the home of a brother, Erwin, of 3800 Memorial Dr., Two Rivers, with whom he had been residing. Funeral arrangements are incomplete but will be announced Wednesday by Klein and Stangel, Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Mr. Koch was born Sept. 27, 1887, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Theresa Stockert Koch. He married the former Christine Nemitz at Milwaukee in 1913. She died in 1935. In 1937, he married Mathilda Koch (sic) who preceded him in death four years ago. At one time, Mr. Koch operated an electrical appliance shop on Buffalo Street at Manitowoc and was also engaged in the electrical contracting business. Before his retirement, he was employed as a machinist at Kaufman Mfg. Co., Manitowoc. He was a member of Manitowoc Aerie No. 706, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Clipper City Lodge No. 516, International Association of Machinists. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Ryan, of Groton, Conn.; a son, John Jr., with the Armed Forces on Guam Island; three sisters, Mrs. William Koepsel, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. William Musil and Mrs. Margaret Schlei, of Manitowoc; another brother, Raymond, of Manitowoc; three grand- children and two great-grandchildren. JOSEPHINE KOCH Mrs. Otto Koch, 57, of Niles, Ill, died Wednesday at home after a lingering illness. MARY F. KOCH Mary F. Koch, age 89, of 4904 Nicyssa Lane, Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Tuesday evening, Nov. 9, 2010, at her residence with her family by her side. Mary was born May 16, 1921, in Rockhampton, Australia. She was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Mary F. Crannage Keating. Mary was a graduate of All Hallows Catholic High School, Brisbane, Australia. She then continued her education attending a business college and became employed by GAFLAC Insurance Company as a bookkeeper. In 1946 she moved to Manitowoc. Mary had been employed with Johnson Hills and Mr. R. Clothing Store. On Oct. 28, 1946, she married Harold R. Koch at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc with the Rev. Alfred Pritzl presiding. He preceded her in death on March 20, 1996. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the War Bride Club. MATHIAS KOCH Mathias Koch, resident of this city for nearly 70 years, died Tuesday night at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Gerl, 1032 South Tenth street, with whom he had made his home. Mr. Koch had been 90 years old on Oct. 5. Funeral services will be made Friday morning at 8:30 from the Pfeffer Funeral Home and at nine o’clock at St. Boniface Catholic church, the Rev. J. H. Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pfeffer funeral home after 7 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. Mr. Koch was born on Oct. 5, 1851, in the German town of Sauerberg on the Mosel river. When he was 11 years old, he went, together with his mother, father, six brothers, and two sisters, to a little seaboard town on the coast of Germany and boarded a sailing vessel bound for the United States. The family left Germany in the late autumn of 1861, and until they put into New York harbor on New Year’s eve, 70 days later, the ship battled Atlantic storms and was often in danger of being immersed. Mr. Koch, together with the other members of the family, went by train from New York to Milwaukee, and by team to Kossuth, Manitowoc county, where they established their home. Mr. Koch moved to Manitowoc in 1873 and has lived there ever since. He took employment as a brewer but after one year he joined the old Lake Shore railroad as a section hand and later became foreman of the Appleton-Lakeshore Junction section. He retired in 1910 after 32 years of service. On August 13, 1873, he married Kathryn Aumann. She died in 1898. Surviving Mr. Koch are two daughters, Mrs. Gerl and Mrs. Katherine White; both of this city; one sister, Mrs. Mary Holsen of Milwaukee; one brother, Henry Koch, of the Town of Kossuth; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grand- children. He was one of the oldest members of St. Boniface congregation to which he belonged all during his residence in Manitowoc, and one of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. OTTO KOCH Otto W. Koch, 86, of Phoenix, Ariz., died Saturday, Sept. 25, at St. Luke Hospital, Phoenix. ROBERT C. KOCH Robert C. Koch, age 79, of 3608 MacArthur Drive, Manitowoc, died early Sunday morning, February 16, 1997, at his home. Bob began his career at Smalley Manufacturing, Manitowoc. He then continued his employment at Lakeland Egg Cooperative in Valders retiring as General Manager. He was a member of the Manitowoc Knights of Columbus and St. Paul Catholic Church where he was active as a Lay Distributor and Lectern. VERNETTA M. KOCH Vernetta M. Koch, age 87, a resident at River Woods Estates, 950 S. Rapids Road, Manitowoc, entered eternal life late on Sunday evening, March 9, 2008, at her residence. She was born Vernetta Marie Allie on July 27, 1920, in Sturgeon Bay. She was the daughter of the late Amos and Amelia (Radzinski) Allie. On Nov. 7, 1940, she married Robert C. Koch at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death in 1997. Vernetta spent many years as a beautician, and then owner/manager of the Vogue Beauty Salon, as well as the Town and Country Beauty Salon in Manitowoc. In past years, she was active as a parishioner at the former St. Paul's Catholic Church, where she was a lay distributor and a member of the choir for many years. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi and the Daughters of Isabella. Vernetta was loved by all and had a perpetual smile on her face. She loved to dance and was a member, along with her late husband, Bob, of the Lamplighters Dance Club, where they also had served as officers of the club. Vernetta greatly enjoyed her final years of life in residence at River Woods Estates. She made many new friends among the residents and staff and considered some of them her new-found family. ANTON C. KOCHAN Anton C. Kochan, 63, of 1012 N. 21st St., Manitowoc, died Saturday night at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following an illness of several months. He worked with his father for a time on the farm and in 1924 took employment with the Manitowoc County Highway Department as a truck driver, remaining as a machinist for Manitowoc Engineering Corp. until his recent illness. In 1926, he married the former Lillian Seidl at Francis Creek. EMMA KOCHAN Mrs. Joseph Kochan, 39, nee Emma Wagner, Manitowoc Rapids, died Sunday evening at the Holy Family Hospital following an operation. JOSEPH KOCHAN Joseph Kochan, 59, resident of Manitowoc, died last night at the Holy Family Hospital of a heart attack. He was born in Manitowoc Rapids in 1891 and in 1919 married Miss Emma Wagner. They moved to the homestead farm in Manitowoc Rapids. Mr. Kochan was a deputy sheriff in 19??. Mrs. Kochan died in 1937. CLARENCE B. KOCOUREK Clarence B. Kocourek, age 90, formerly of Rockwood, and currently of Springfield, Ore., died on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, in Springfield, Ore. Clarence was born on May 19, 1918, son of the late John and Rose (Pritzl) Kocourek. He was a graduate of Reedsville High School in 1936. On June 3, 1941, Clarence was married to Mildred M. Junk at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Mildred preceded him in death on April 17, 2001, after nearly 60 years of marriage. Clarence worked at A & P White House Milk Company, Manitowoc Shipbuilding, and The Little Giant Supply Company, while operating his farm at Rockwood. In 1965, the family moved to Redwood City, Calif., where Clarence worked for United Airlines in the air freight department. In the summer, Clarence used long weekends and vacation time to bale hay in Rockwood. Clarence retired from United Airlines in 1978, and the couple moved back to Rockwood. In 2001, Clarence moved to Springfield, Ore., to live with his daughter, Mary, and her family for five years, until moving to Shalem Cottage. Clarence was a member of St. Alice Catholic Church in Springfield, Ore., a former member of St. Anne Catholic Church of Francis Creek, a member of the Catholic Knights and the Knights of Columbus. He was an active proponent of religious and community projects, having worked tirelessly laying the groundwork for Roncalli High School in Manitowoc. (Survivors omitted for privacy.) He had an unconditional love for his family, especially the little people. It was a love that did not waver, no matter how far his loved ones fell or how high they soared. ETHEL H. KOCOUREK Ethel H. Kocourek, age 84, a Manitowoc resident, died peacefully Friday evening, March 14, 2014 at Felician Village, Manitowoc. Ethel was born on October 31, 1929 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John F. and Laura (Rusch) Bubolz. She graduated from Reedsville High School with the class of 1949. On May 20, 1950 she married Ralph R. Kocourek in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1995. Together with her husband Ralph they owned and operated the Western Frontier and the New Frontier Taverns in Manitowoc. For many years Ethel volunteered at St. Vincent De Paul. She was a member of the Manitowoc Eagles Aerie #706. Ethel opened her home to her five foreign exchange students: Mila, Josce, Claudia, Tally and Wina. Most important to her was spending time with her family and friends. Ethel was a long-time member of St. Francis of Assisi. She loved dogs, cats, birds, and her flower gardens. Ethel was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. Camillus Janas, OFM with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Evelyn was born Dec. 14, 1918, in Appleton, daughter of the late John and Florence O’Connor O’Neil. Her mother, Florence, died when Evelyn was very young, and she was lovingly raised by her stepmother, Annie Rolland Linnane. Evelyn grew up in the Maple Grove area and attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Grade School, St. Joseph’s Academy, Green Bay, and graduated from West High School in Green Bay. She married Leonard J. Kocourek on Dec. 26, 1939, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Appleton. He preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1983. Evelyn worked at the Health Care Center, Manitowoc, from 1972 until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. Evelyn was instrumental in establishing Al-Anon in Manitowoc County in 1959. She enjoyed people, playing cards and crocheting. MILDRED KOCOUREK Mildred M. Kocourek, age 82, of rural Manitowoc, died on Tuesday, April 17, 2001 at Rivers Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, April 20, 2001 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. Theodore Hendrick will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Mildred was born May 7, 1918 at Newton, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Haarmann Junk. Graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1935 and later attended Wood's Business College, Manitowoc and then worked at Paragon Electric Company for a short time. She married Clarence B. Kocourek on June 3, 1941 at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. They farmed near Rockwood for nearly 60 years. Mildred became a certified nursing assistant in 1961 and was employed at Park Lawn Home and Holy Family Hospital. While residing in Redwood City, CA., she became a licensed vocational nurse and was employed at Sequoia Hospital until 1972. Mildred was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek and the Altar Society of the Church. She enjoyed playing the organ, growing flowers, traveling and visiting their children and grandchildren around the country. ELIZABETH KODET Mrs. John Kodet, 75, of 1226 S. Eighth St., Manitowoc, died Thursday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient two months. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mittnacht Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Msgr. Alfred A. The former Elizabeth Kochan was born Nov. 22, 1892, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Peter and Catherine Massman Kochan. She attended St. Joseph Parochial School, Alverno, and the Town of Manitowoc Rapids School. She was married to John Kodet April 22, 1919, at St. Joseph Church and the couple farmed in the township several years before moving to Manitowoc. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary 659, Royal Neighbors of America 7519, Germania Society, World War I Barracks 2565 Auxiliary and Women’s Relief Corps 53. She is survived by four sons, Raymond, Reuben, Donald and Orville, a daughter Mrs. Anton (Regina) Kroll, and two sisters, Miss Mary and Miss Rose Kochan, of Manitowoc and 13 grandchildren. EUGENE W. KOEBKE Eugene W. (Kebbie) Koebke, age 84, of 3100 Peto St., Manitowoc, died Friday morning, April 3, 1998, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. A Masonic Memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, April 6, 1998, at the Jens Funeral Home. Officiating will be Mr. Kenneth W. Beck with cremation to follow and burial to take place at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. He was born June 24, 1913, in Manitowoc, son of the late Walter and Dora Mathias Koebke. He attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1932. he married Marie G. Rank on May 12, 1939, in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death in September, 1997. Eugene was a lieutenant for the City of Manitowoc Police Department for 22 years. He then was employed with Mirro Aluminum was a Personnel Supervisor for many years, retiring in 1977. Eugene loved his cottage at Sand Bay in Door County, where fishing, golfing and playing cards were very much enjoyed. Eugene also enjoyed his winters in Florida. He was a member of the Manitowoc Lodge #65, Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the Manitowoc Commandery and past Commander #45 of the Knights Templar, a member of the Manitowoc Council 318, Manitowoc Chapter, #16, Beja Temple, and the Two Rivers Shrine Club. FRANCES KOELMER Mrs. Frances Koelmer, 86, native of Manitowoc, died Friday at Milwaukee General Hospital where she had been a patient several weeks. Betty was born on December 4, 1930 at Neenah, daughter of the late Roy and Cora (Blenker) Pauls. She grew up in Menasha and graduated from Menasha High School. Prior to her marriage Betty worked at Marathon Paper in Menasha. On May 12, 1956 Betty was married to Harold W. Koerner at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. The couple farmed in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids and Betty briefly worked at St. Michael's School in Whitelaw. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Michael Christian Mother's, Catholic Knights and the Whitelaw Homemakers. ROBERT F. KOHL Robert F. Kohl, age 81 of 2035 Andrea Lane, Manitowoc, died Thursday evening, January 6, 2011, at Rivers Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center in the care of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center Hospice. Bob was born on January 27, 1929, in Two Rivers, son of the late Robert and Vanda (Rogalski) Kohl Sr. He graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers in 1947. Bob was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving from December 15, 1948 to October 25, 1949. On May 31, 1952, Bob married the former Shirlee Mrozinski at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He owned and operated various taverns in Mishicot and Two Rivers, as well as Kohl’s Fish Haven in Brussels for 10 years and Manitowoc Glass until his retirement in 1991. Bob was a member of the Manitowoc Yacht Club and was a vendor at the Manitowoc Farmers’ Market. VIOLA KOHL Mrs. Viola Kohls(sic), 37, of 919 Washington street, former wife of Edward Kohls who was killed when a truck he was driving ran off a dock in Milwaukee several weeks ago, died shortly after 8 o'clock this morning at the Holy Family hospital. She had been ill for the past month. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 from the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 o'clock from the St. Boniface church. Burial will be made in the Calvary cemetery. Mrs. Kohls, the former Viola Blum, was born at Slinger, Wis., Jan. 23, 1900. She has lived here the past 15 years and for several years had been employed at the Aluminum goods. ABDON G. KOHLBECK Abdon G. Kohlbeck, age 93, of 7315 Polifka Road, Whitelaw, died Tuesday evening, Aug. 18, 2009, at St. Mary's at Felician Village in Manitowoc. Abdon was born July 29, 1916, in Whitelaw, son of the late George and Rosa Lensmire Kohlbeck. He married the former Gertrude M. Zinkle on Oct. 6, 1945, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alverno. She preceded him in death on Jan. 12, 2004. Abdon was a licensed cheesemaker at the age of 16 and farmed in the town of Kossuth for the past 44 years. BENJAMIN KOHLBECK Ben F. Kohlbeck, 74, of 1126 S. 26th St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning, May 14, at the Intensive Care United of Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. EMANUEL KOHLBECK Emanuel (Manny) Kohlbeck, age 74, of 146 W. Menasha Ave., Whitelaw, died early Saturday morning, November 7, 1992, at his residence. He was born May 22, 1918, in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, the son of Rosa Lensmire Kohlbeck and the late George Kohlbeck Sr. He attended the St. Michael’s Parochial School of Whitelaw and graduated with the class of 1937 from the Reedsville High School. He also attended the Manitowoc Business College. He served with the United States Army from 1942 to 1946 and served a year overseas. He married the former Grace Ramiker November 23, 1948, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Kellnersville. The couple made their home in Whitelaw after their marriage. Mr. Kohlbeck had been employed by the Whitehouse Milk Company and served as the manager of the Whitelaw Co-op and was also self-employed as an accountant. He was a member of the Two Rivers Disabled Veterans. He graduated from Manitowoc County Normal and taught school for a number of years. He married the former Dorothy A. blonde on November 7, 1953 at St. Killian Catholic Church, New Franken. Mr. Kohlbeck was employed at Manitowoc Seed Company and then Hamilton Industries at Two Rivers. He was then employed at Kohler Company for 17 years, retiring in 1985. Mr. Kohlbeck was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and he enjoyed gardening and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Jean A. In 1967 Ken and Marie purchased their farm in Kellnersville and farmed there with his family until the present. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville, St. Joseph Holy Name Society, an usher and served as a trustee and member of St. Joseph's finance committee. Kenneth was also a life member of Kubale-O'Connell VFW Post #6179 of Cato. Kenneth was always a hard worker and in his pastime, he enjoyed attending cattle auctions. MARCELLA KOHLBECK Marcella F. Kohlbeck age 90, a resident of the Manitowoc Health Care Center, died early on Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2007, at the Manitowoc Health Care Center. The former Marcella Grall was born on Aug. 21, 1917, in Whitelaw, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Zipperer) Grall. She grew up in Whitelaw, and was a graduate of St. Michael Grade School. On Feb. 5, 1940, Marcella was married to Benjamin Kohlbeck at St. Michael Catholic Church in Whitelaw. Ben preceded Marcella in death on May 14, 1984. NED N. KOHLBECK Ned N. Kohlbeck, age 56, of 1020 S. 12th St., Manitowoc died Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Ned was born April 13, 1948 at Two Rivers, son of the late Norbert and Harriet Scheer Kohlbeck. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1966. For 25 years he was employed with the city of Manitowoc, Cemetery and Parks Department, prior to his retirement. Ned married Carolyn Keehan March 6, 1971, she preceded him in death September 1995. Ned was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict serving two tours of duty in the U.S. Navy from Aug. 8, 1966 to April 26, 1970. He was a damage control man, 3rd class and received the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, National Defense Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. THOMAS F. KOLBECK Thomas F. Kolbeck, age 68, of 302 N. 43rd St., Manitowoc, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was born on Oct. 9, 1940, in Manitowoc, son of Judith (Rehrauer) Kolbeck and the late Walter M. Kolbeck Sr. Tom was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class of 1959. On Aug. 29, 1960, he married the former Constance Fagan at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Tom retired from an amazing cross-country truck driving career in 1999, which allowed him to drive in 48 states, logging over two million miles during his trucking years. Tom was a state champion truck driver and a member of the Wisconsin Motor Carriers. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping and golfing. Mr. Kohlman owned and operated a dairy farm in Manitowoc Rapids. He then continued his employment with Backhaus Builders, and then Manitowoc Engineering, until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of Catholic Knights Branch 298 of Silver Lake and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community, and a retired member of Lake to Lake Dairy. MARGARET T. KOHLMAN Margaret T. Kohlman, age 88, formerly of 5709 Middle Road, Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening, August 23, 2005, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc. Margaret was born September 16, 1916 in Whitelaw, daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Meidl Zipperer. On February 22, 1938 she married Edmund F. Kohlman at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Margaret was a homemaker along with helping to operate the family farm she and her husband owned and operated. The couple celebrated 64 years of marriage in 2002. Edmund preceded her in death September 25, 2002. She was a member of the Catholic Knights Branch 298 of Silver Lake and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Community. ANTON KOHLMANN Anton Kohlmann, 84, of 528 South 27th street, died Sunday at his home following a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 830 a.m. Wednesday at the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 o’clock at St. Paul Catholic church, the Rev. Paul Jaekels officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery. He was born in Austria in 1863 and came to this country in 1873. He operated a frm in Manitowoc Rapids for many years and moved to this city in 1946. In 1904 he married Miss Margaret Zinkel. Manitowoc Herald Times, June 14, 1948 P. 2 ******** INJURED BY FALLING TREE Anton Kohlman, aged 60, residing about four miles from town on the River Road, was seriously, if not fatally injured Monday afternoon. Mr. Kohlman was engaged in chopping down a tree that was lodged. The trunk broke off unexpectedly and struck him in the back. He extricated himself and crawled toward the road and some neighbors heard his cries. At the hospital an xray disclosed a fracture of the spine and a fractured pelvic bone. MARGARET (ZINKEL) KOHLMANN Mrs. Margaret Kohlman (sic) (photo), 75, died early Friday morning following a heart attack at her home, 528 S. 27th St., Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Clement P. Kern will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The former Margaret Zinkel was born Oct. 23, 1882, at Cooperstown, daughter of the late Carl and Margaret Degenhart Zinkel. The lifetime Manitowoc County resident was married to Anton Kohlmann Feb. 13, 1902, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. The couple operated the homestead farm on Rt. 4, Manitowoc until retirement 12 years ago, coming then to Manitowoc. Mr. Kohlmann died June 13, 1948. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society of the church. ARLEINE M. KOHOUT Arleine M. Kohout, age 93, a former Manitowoc resident, currently of 450 Ensenada St., Denver Colo., died Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2004, at her home in Denver, Colo. She was born April 30, 1911, in Muscatine, Iowa, daughter of the late John and Myrtle (Fidelia) Kuechmann. On June 1, 1940, she married Kenneth S. Kohout at St. Paul Catholic Church, Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death June 11, 2000. Arleine grew up in Iowa and has resided in Manitowoc since her marriage. Arleine was a receptionist at Weyerhaeuser for 20 years until her retirement in 1975. She was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Rosary and Altar Society, the Association for the Developmentally Disabled and Friends of Holiday House for many years. Survivors include two daughters: Carolyn Anderson and Nancy Kohout; a grandson: Shawn Anderson and his wife, Lauri, all of Denver, Colo.; and one brother and sister-in-law: William and Gene Kuechmann, Vancouver, Wash. The deceased came to Manitowoc as a child with his grandparents from Bohemia. He worked for the above firm 6 yrs. until sickness required his hospitalization on 27 Aug. Der Nord Westen, 27 Sept. 1894 ******** Joseph Kohout Jr., of this city died at the City Hospital on Friday last of typhoid fever, aged 25. He was born in Bruszney, Bohemia and came to this country with his parents when five years old. They settled in Carlton, Kewaunee county and then moved to Manitowoc Rapids. Joseph educated himself through his own efforts, working after school hours for his board. He entered the employment of Madson & Anderson as bookkeeper and remained with them up to the time of his death, six years. His employers speak of him in the very highest terms as capable, industrious and thoroughly honest. He earned their affection as well as their respect and they mourn his loss as a friend as well as a trusted employe. JOSEPH KOHOUT JOS. KOHOUT PASSES AWAY AT AGE OF 86 Joseph Kohout, a resident of this section for upwards of fifty years and well known as a landscape gardener, died at his home, 2615 Meadow Lane, Thursday afternoon as a result of a stroke. He had been in ill health two weeks and death was sudden. Mr. Kohout, a native of Bohemia, was born October 28, 184__, and came to America in 1874 locating in Kewaunee county and later removing here. His wife, nee Theresa Helby, preceded him in death eight years ago and he is survived by four children, Mrs. Anna Beis and Miss Mary Kohout, this city; Mrs. J. A. Meyer of Evanston and Wenzel Kohout, this city. Deceased served twelve years as an officer of the German army. He was a member of the American Catholic Union of Tisch Mills. The body will be removed to the home from the Pfeffer funeral home this afternoon and burial will be held tomorrow at 8:30 from the home and at 9 o’clock from St. Paul’s church, with Rev. KENNETH S. KOHOUT Kenneth S. Kohout age 88, formerly of Manitowoc, currently of 4560 Ensenada St., Denver, Colo., died Sunday afternoon, June 11, 2000, at his home in Denver. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2000, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. He was born February 15, 1912, in Manitowoc, son of the late Wenzel and Georgiana Donovan Kohout. On June 1, 1940 he married the former Arleine Kuechmann at St. Paul Catholic Church, Burlington, Iowa. Kenneth was employed with the Manitowoc Shipyards as a loftsman and fitter, retiring in 1974. He was a member of the Shipbuilders Local Union #443, Association for the Developmentally Disabled and Friends of Holiday House for many years. Survivors include his wife, Arleine; two daughters, Carolyn Anderson, Nancy Kohout; one grandson, Shawn Anderson and his special friend, Lauri Kane, all of Denver, Colo.; one sister, Esther Guse, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law, William and Gene Kuechmann, Vancouver, Wash., Dorothy Kuechmann, LaCrosse; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Grace O’Connell; and eight brothers-in-law. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holiday House, 2818 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc, or National Jewish Medical and Research Center, 1400 Jackson st., Denver, CO 80206. MARY KOHOUT Miss Mary Kohout, 84?, if 613 S. 27th S., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where she had been a patient four days. Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc, the Rev. Clement Kearn officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Miss Kohout as born Oct. 10, 1871, in Austria, and came to this country as a child with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kohout, who settled in the town of Carlton in Kewaunee County. Miss Kohout moved to Manitowoc in 1961. Prior to her retirement 19 years ago she was employed at the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co., Manitowoc. She is survived by a sister, Mrs. _____ Bier___? of Manitowoc, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. THERESIA KOHOUT LIFE JOURNEY ENDED AT 81 FOR MRS. J. KOHOUT Mrs. Theresa Kohout, wife of Joseph Kohout, Western Avenue and Twenty-sixth street, died at the family home Saturday following an illness of two weeks. Death was due to a complication of diseases incident to old age. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock with services at St. Paul’s Catholic church and burial will be at Calvary. Mrs. Kohout was born in Bohemia and on March 19 celebrated her eighty-first birthday anniversary. She was married at the age of eighteen to Joseph Kohout and three years later the family came to find a new home in America, the land of promise. The family settled on a farm near Carlton, Kewaunee county, where they remained for eleven years and then came to this city to make their home. For better than three decades they have lived in the present home. Three years ago next May the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Surviving Mrs. Kohout are her aged husband, four daughters and one son, Marie, at home: Mrs. John Meyer, Evanston, Ill, Mrs. Minnie Geisler, Green Bay, Mrs. Henry Bies and Wenzel Kohout, this city. Two sisters, Miss Anna Helbich, Bohemia and Mrs. J. Polifka, Vienna, Austria, also survive her. There are eight surviving grandchildren. Mrs. Kohout was a devout church member and devoted all of her time to her home and family. She made a wide circle of friends to whom news of her death will bring a sense of personal loss. WENZEL KOHOUT Wenzel Kohout, 67, a park attendant here for many years, died Thursday at the Holy Family hospital. He suffered a stroke of apoplexy ten days ago and was removed from his home, 2701 Meadow Lane, to the hospital six days ago. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 o’clock from the Pfeffer funeral home and at 9 o’clock from the St. Paul’s Catholic church with the Rev. Martin Jaekels officiating. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery. Mr. Kohout was born in the town of Carlton on August 8, 1875. He came to Manitowoc as a young man and continued to reside here. In 1904 he married Miss Georgiana Donovan. Survivors are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Sherman O’Connell and Mrs. Harold Guse, city; one son, Kenneth, city; three sisters, Miss Mary Kohout and Mrs. Anna Bies, city, and Mrs. John Meyer of Evanston, Ill., and four grandchildren. The body may be viewed at the funeral home until the time of the services and the rosary will be recited there at 7 o’clock tonight by the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Christian Mothers.
