GERTRUDE E. QUINT Mrs. James G. Quint, 66, of 915 Columbus St., Manitowoc, died Friday morning at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. John Hephner will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mrs. Quint, nee Gertrude E. Burkart, was born Jan. 23, 1908, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Edward and Clara Muller Burkart. She was married to James G. Quint Sept. 1, 1930, at Manitowoc. She had been employed at National Tinsel Mfg. Co. for more than 30 years, retiring Jan. 1, 1974. She was a member of the St. Ann Society of St. Boniface Church, Daughters of Isabella, Catholic Women’s Club, business Professional Women’s Club and was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 710 Women’s Club. Survivors include her husband; two sons, a daughter (names omitted for privacy), three sisters, Mrs. Leona Stuewe and Mrs. Henry Anhalt, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Lawrence Schwaab, of Richfield, Minn., and six grandchildren. A son, Lee, preceded her in death in 1971. JAMES QUINT James G. Quint, 67, of 915 Columbus St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. John Hephner will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Quint was born Nov. 22, 1906, at Victoria, Kans., son of the late Peter and Katherine Goetz Quint. He moved to Manitowoc in 1927. He was married to Gertrude E. Burkart Sept. 1, 1930. She preceded him in death Feb. 1, 1974. He had been employed at Bouril Auto Co. of Manitowoc, retiring in 1971. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 710 and a member of Manitowoc Serra Club, St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Clipper City Chordsmen. He served as a consultor for St. Boniface Parish and was chairman of St. Boniface Life Committee. He was the current president of St. Boniface Credit Union, Lake Port Credit Union and Manitowoc Credit Union Service Center and a state director of the Wisconsin Credit Union League, 10th District. Survivors include two sons, James W. of Kailua Hawaii, and Donald L. of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Harry D. (Joy) Bahr, of Coon Rapids, Minn,; three brothers, John of Victoria, Kans., Leonard, of Milwaukee and Peter, of Dodge City, Kans.; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Linenberger, of Gorham, Kans., Mrs. John Durler and Mrs. Robert Dreiling, of Larned, Kans., and Mrs. John Grabbe, and Mrs. Theresa Sanders, of Hays, Kans., and six grandchildren. LEE B. QUINT Lee B. Quint, 28, of 915 Columbus St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday as the result of an auto accident. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Very Rev. Msgr. Alfred A. Schneider will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Quint was born Feb. 11, 1943, at Manitowoc, son of James G. and Gertrude Burkart Quint. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961, the Wisconsin State University of Oshkosh in 1968 and The Electronic Computer Programming Institute at Appleton in 1970. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 710, the Manitowoc Marine Band and the Musician's Union of Manitowoc. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James G. Quint, of Manitowoc, two brothers and a sister (Survivors omitted for privacy.) CATHERINE QUIRK Catherine M. Quirk, age 79, of 1215 S. 35th Street, Manitowoc, died Sunday evening, Sept. 23, 2001, at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Concelebrating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Ronald Reimer and the Rev. David Cooper with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. She was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Sheboygan, daughter of the late Floyd and Deana Rickmeyer Cooper. On Aug. 7, 1943, she married Herbert J. Quirk at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. He preceded her in death June 14, 2001. Catherine enjoyed crafts and flowers. She also loved cooking for her family and friends and especially playing cards. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Liz Quirk; a daughter and son-in-law, J’Ette and Keary Getter, all of Manitowoc. Also surviving are two grandsons, Matthew and Jason Quirk, other relatives and friends. HERBERT J. QUIRK Herbert J. Quirk, age 83, of 1215 S. 35th Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday morning, June 14, 2001, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2001, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Concelebrating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Ronald Reimer and the Rev. EMMA RADANDT Emma G. Radandt, 102, a lifelong Manitowoc resident, formerly of 2382 S. 18th Street and currently residing at Park Lawn Home, died Thursday evening, March 23, 1989 at Park Lawn. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Presiding at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. James Stamborski and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Emma Grace Metzger was born July 26, 1886 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Erhardt and Katherine Doehler Metzger. She married Fred Radandt Sr., on February 11, 1907 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1944. She and her husband founded Fred Radandt Excavating and Gravel Business in 1930 in which she was very active. Mrs. Radandt was a charter member of St. Andrew Parish and charter and honorary member of St. Theresa Society of the Parish. She was the last charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary. Mrs. Radant was a member of the Senior Citizens and the Jolly Girls Kitchen Band. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Mary Ann Radandt and Harold and Mary Radandt of Manitowoc; three daughters and a son-in-law, Mrs. Claribelle Schaus and Mrs. Leona Heinz of Manitowoc and LaVern and Jerry Gutman of St. Nazianz; a daughter-in-law, Agnes Radandt of Manitowoc; 22 grandchildren; 60 great grandchildren; 16 great grand grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Fred Jr., 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law. GEORGE E. RADANDT George F. Radandt, age 73, of 6329 County Trunk Hwy LS, Manitowoc, died Monday, September 7, 1992, at his cottage on English Lake. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 10, 1992, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, and 11 a.m. at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Presiding the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. James Stamborski, with entombment to follow at the Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. He was born April 23, 1919, in Manitowoc, son of the late Frederick and Emma Metzger Radandt. He was a graduate of the Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1937. He married the former Marcella Dubey on September 28, 1942, at the St. Andrews Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on October 4, 1978. He then married the former Mary Ann (Donny) Krey on October 25, 1960, at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mr. Radandt was the past president of the Fred Radandt Sons, Inc., of Manitowoc, founded by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Radandt Sr., in 1913. Mr. Radandt and his brothers, Fred Jr. and Harold assumed ownership of the firm upon the death of their father in 1944, and Fred Jr. preceded him in death in 1971. He was the president of the Sheboygan Sand and Gravel, Vice President of the Manitowoc Disposal Co. , a partner in the Radandt Development Co. and the Radandt Mini Storage Co.,. He was also the President of the River Heights Corp. Mr. Radandt served as past president of the Optimist Club of Manitowoc, of which he was a member for 38 years. He as also a member of the Manitowoc Elks, Eagle and a 3rd and 4th degree member of the knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Manitowoc Industrial Development Corp. also serving on the Board of Directors for the Lakeshore VTAE District Board from 1976-1981. Mr. Radandt also served as a member on the Board of Directors of the Manitowoc County Bank, serving in that capacity for 15 years. He was a member of the Manitowoc County Master Builders Assoc., the Wisconsin Road Builders, the American Builders and Contractors Assoc., National Solid Waste Management Assoc., National Sand and Gravel Assoc., Wisconsin Ready Mix Assoc., Wisconsin Concrete Products Assoc., National Concrete Masonary Assoc, and was also a member of the Manitowoc Gun Clip, Ducks Unlimited and the Shoto Gun Club, Ducks Unlimited, and the Shoto Gun Club. He enjoyed bowling in various leagues throughout Manitowoc with his brothers Harold and Fred Jr., and enjoyed hunting and fishing, and during his retirement, travels with his wife. He also served as the President of the English Lake Advancement Assoc. for many years. MARCELLA B. RADANDT Mrs. George Radandt, 59, of 815 Manitou St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday in Columbia Hospital, Milwaukee. In 1928 she moved to Manitowoc with her parents, residing here since. She attended St Boniface Parochial School and was graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1937. She was married to George Radandt Sept. 26, 1942 in St. Andrew Catholic Church. Mrfs. Radandt was a member of Elks Auxiliary and Daughters of Isabella. REV. EDWARD A. RADEY Rev. Edward A. Radey, 88, of 15331 W. Hillcrest Road, Cato, died Saturday morning, January 14, 1989 at St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated by Bishop Adam Maida, Bishop Robert Morneau and Bishop Aloysius Wycislo. Entombment will be at Calvary Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Rev. Radey was born February 2, 1900 at Maple Grove, Wisconsin, son of the late John E. and Anna Kubale Radey. He began studies for the priesthood at St. Procopius College, Lisle, Illinois, in September, 1915. He remained there until 1923 when he took up major seminary studies in St. Francis Seminary, Milwaukee. Biship Paul P. Rhode ordained him to the priesthood on May 4th, 1927, in the St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, Green Bay. Father Edward A. Radey’s first assignment was as assistant to the late Monsignor Peter Van Heyster in St. Boniface Parish, DePere. He began his work there on May 14th, 1927. Other assignments that followed were assistant at St. Stephen’s, Stevens Point, April 20th, 1928; and assistant at St. Boniface, Manitowoc, June 26, 1929. On November 19, 1930 he was appointed administrator of St. Joseph’s Parish, Pilsen; and about a year later on September 11, 1931, he became an assistant in St. Francis Xavier Cathedral Parish, Green Bay. The following spring, April 27, 1932, Bishop Rhode appointed him to the new parish of Holy Innocents on Manitowoc’s northside. Father Radey was Pastor of St. Michael Parish, Whitelaw, November 30, 1968. He retired October 15, 1970. Rev. Radey then served on the Leo Benevolent Assoc. Board to represent retired clergy since November, 1970. He also served as administrator to St. Paul Parish, Wrightstown from May 5 to July 4th, 1973. On May 4th, 1987, Rev. Radey celebrated 60 years as a priest. Rev. Radey was a member of Knights of Columbus Council Number 710 where he was a 4th Degree member. He was member and founder of the Manitowoc Sierra Club. Survivors include a brother, George Radey of Reedsville; 30 nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends, including the Biebel family for many years. He was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters. Reception of the body by Clergy, relatives and friends will be at Holy Innocents Catholic church, 3:00 pm Tuesday with Msgr. James Feely reading the prayers for the welcoming of the body into church. There will be a prayer service at 8:00 pm led by Rev. Jeff VandenHeuvel. At 8:15 pm there will be a prayer service by the Knights of Columbus Council 710, 4th Degree. Memorials would be appreciated to Holy Innocents Catholic Church or the Rev. ALLEN H. RAETHER Allan H. Raether, age 74, of 724 Manitou St., Manitowoc, died early Wednesday morning, May 5, 1993, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 1993, at 9:30 a.m. at Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating will be the Rev. James Stamborski. Cremation will follow services with entombment later at Calvary Mausoleum. He was born October 15, 1918, at Manitowoc, son of the late Walter and Mathilda Vollheim Raether. He grew up in Manitowoc, attending local schools. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1936. He worked for the Manitowoc Engineering Company for 40 years retiring in 1961. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. His first marriage was to Rosabell Maresh in 1940 and she preceded him in death in 1949. He was then married to Loris Lou Doolan September 16, 1952, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Maple Grove, Wis. He is a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, a former member of the Machinists Union Local 516. Survivors include his wife, Loris Lou Raether; one brother, Roy Raether, Manitowoc; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Doolan, Reedsville; also surviving are sister-i-laws, and brother-in-laws, Frank and Elizabeth Herold, Green Bay, George and Marge Gibeault, Reedsville, Joe and Rita Vogel, Reedsville, Donna Schlei, Manitowoc, Myrtle Schaefer, Green Bay; a special friend Greg Martell, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. ROBERT J. RAND Robert J. Rand, age 91, a former Manitowoc resident, died Friday morning, March 30, 2007, at Bishop Davies Nursing Home, Hurst, Texas. He was born June 23, 1915, in Manitowoc, son of the late Edwin H. and Elizabeth (Kirscher) Rand. Bob was a graduate of Lincoln High School, Manitowoc, class of 1933, and was also a graduate of Silver Lake College, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II serving as a sergeant in the European Theater with the 315th Infantry, Company L, 79th Division from 1942-1945. He was the recipient of the ATO Medal, EAMETO Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and the POW Medal. Bob was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Northeast Chapter of POW's. On Dec. 31, 1952, he married Barbara L. Schwefel in Blackfoot, Idaho. She preceded him in death April 27, 1997. Bob was employed at Stangel Hardware, Manitowoc Shipbuilding, and retired from Busch Agricultural Resources, Manitowoc, in December 1979. Bob was active in city politics including serving as an alderman for the city of Manitowoc from 1950-1957, and mayor for the city of Manitowoc for two terms: 1961-1963 and 1965-1969. He then returned to the Manitowoc political arena in 1975 serving as a city alderman until 1978. He was a member of the league of municipalities, serving on the Governor Knowles Highway Commission from 1962-1963; finance and taxation committee from 1956-1969, and served on the executive committee from 1967-1969. Bob was a 4th Degree member of the local Knights of Columbus Council 710, serving as faithful navigator from 1974-1976; grand knight 1957; 1983; 1987; and district deputy from 1980-1984. He was also a member of the Roncalli High School Board of Education; Sacred Heart Church choir member for 60 years; serving as church organist from 1980-1997 and funeral choir from 1994-1997. Bob was also a past member of the Golden K, Manitowoc Elks, and served as an active volunteer at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center from 1983-1998. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Raymond Madsen, Bedford, Texas; Claudia and William Green, Hurst, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Joy Rand, New Frankin; six grandchildren, Gregg (Brooke) and Jayme Madsen; Jennifer and Nicholas Greene; Marcus and Derrick Rand; two great-grandsons, Alexandre and Aden Robert Madsen; special nephews, James (Lucy) DeWein, Manitowoc; Terry (Beth) Rand, Naples, Fla.; Tom (Martha) Rand, Okemos, Mich.; Dan (Chris) Rand, Rochester, Minn.; and special nieces, Joanne (Leonard) Bonk, Manitowoc; Sally Hamilton, Ft. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. James Vanden Hogen with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 5 until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2007, where 4th Degree members of the Knights of Columbus - Assembly 1212 will serve as honor guards. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. led by Deacon Robert Drobka. Donations can be made to Roncalli High School Scholarship Fund. Bob was an inspiration to all who knew him. His deep faith in God, dedication to his country, and love of family were apparent in everything he did. Bob's interests were all encompassing, basketball in the early years, bowling with the Knights of Columbus, watching the Packer games and his years at English Lake. But Bob loved golf most of all, whether it was at the Elks Club, or at Royal Scot, where he was part owner with his son and daughter-in-law, or in his later years in Naples, Fla. JASON D. RANDALL Jason D. Randall, 55, of Manitowoc, WI passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Appleton. Jason was born was April 6, 1968, in Manitowoc to Mildred I. (Heineck) Randall. Jason was full of love and life and a much beloved person to family and all those who knew Jason through the years. His greatest joys were food, classic tv shows, and above all music, which was his passion and always brought him calm and happiness. Jason is survived by his sisters and brothers: Cindy & Greg Winnekens, Andrea Randall & Shawn Dowell, Anita Perrino, Joe & Allison Castro Jr., and Jarred Randall & Carol Grimm. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jason was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Randall. A memorial service to celebrate Jason’s life was held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at Calvary Mausoleum, 2601 S. 14th Street. Jason’s family would like to thank Sierra Home in Manitowoc, Hamilton Services in Two Rivers, and ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton for their kind and compassionate care.
