The accident happened on highway 32, about five miles from Reedsville, near the Fokett cheese factory. Mr. Bushmann’s Ford touring car overturned when it struck loose gravel, at the bottom of a hill, and he was found dead beneath the overturned car, his neck having been broken. It is said that the deceased was subject to heart attacks and it is thought that such an attack might have been the cause of his loss of control of the car. He was a man of great physique, weighing about 340 pounds. He was about seven feet tall and was thought to have been the biggest man in the county. With the exception of a broken wind shield and top, the car suffered little damage. He had been employed by the county for the past three years. The deceased was born in the town of Meeme June 12, 1866, and lived there during his entire life. JOHN EISERT Paraphrase from the Manitowoc Post, Nov. 4, 1909, p. 1, c. 1, School Hill column. After a lengthy illness, Mr. John Eisert died here this past Sunday [death certificate says Monday Oct. 25]. Mr. John Eisert was nearly 80 years old. The burial took place in Holy Trinity Church cemetery. (from researcher/see contributors page) ********** On Oct. 27th the marriage of Mr. Eisert from Schulberg and the widow Schumacher from Ada took place. The young couple will be residing in Schulberg. Thanks to the wedding, the restaurant owners Olm in Ada and Buschman in Schulberg distributed a free lunch. (Sheboygan Zeitung, Nov. 1, 1898, p. 7, c. 2, Franklin column.) ********** Mr. Johannes Eisert from Schulberg thought that being alone wasn't much fun and with the help of a friend he found out that Mrs. Margaretha Schumacher felt the same and would not be adverse to being courted. An agreement was soon reached and that's how we saw the two old people at the altar on Thursday. The wedding celebration took place at the bridegroom's house. Refreshments were provided, and with music and singing the time flew by. Mr. F. Wacker had composed a poem for the occasion and read it aloud. Later, most of the guests went to Mr. Joseph Buschmann's establishment where there was dancing. It was already 2 a.m. by the time the party broke up and the guests started for home.
