FRED W. BOCK cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 22 Feb. 1906: Death Wednesday afternoon last week in the local Holy Family Hospital of Fred. W. Bock, a ship's carpenter. A short while ago BOCK went to Milwaukee to work and while eating got a bone stuck in his throat which the Milwaukee doctors were unable to remove. He was brought back here and entered the hospital where Dr. Sifton operated. The patient grew constantly weaker and died on Wednesday. Fred. W. Bock was born in 1852 in Germany and came here with his parents as a child of 9-months, settling in Town Kossuth. He learned ship carpentry as he grew up and worked here for many years. ELLA BOECKMAN cemetery #44 Miss Ella Boeckman, 80, of 3001 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon at home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Norval W. Kock will offiicate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Miss Boeckman was born July 15, 1889, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Carl and Ida Erdman Boeckman. Her parents operated a farm south of Silver Creek and after their death she continued to reside on a portion of the former homestead property with her brother, Charles. Since her brother died in 1955, a niece, (Survivor omitted for privacy.), lived with her and more recently her twin sister, Evelyn, also resided there. Survivors include her sister, Evelyn, a brother, Alfred, of Manitowoc and a niece. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, April 27, 1996, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Donald Marquardt with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. She was born June 24, 1901, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Gonia Bonk. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Washington High School. On September 22, 1927, she married James Schauer in Two Rivers and he preceded her in death January 17, 1973. On September 8, 1977, she married Leonard Bodenstab in Two Rivers. He also preceded her in death October 14, 1984. Agnes was organist at Sacred Heart Church for 16 years. She was employed at Mirro Aluminum Company for many years. Surviving are a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Boeckman, 65, of 1810 S. 13th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Reformed United Church of Christ, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theodore P. Crusius will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Boeckman was born Jan. 7, 1905, at Manitowoc, son of the late William and Ida Kreie Boeckman. He attended schools at Manitowoc where he married Loretta Staudinger Dec. 30, 1924. He was a mason by trade and worked for many of the contractors here. In 1946, he became a self-employed mason contractor, working until health forced him to retire. Mr. Boeckman was a member of Masons Union Local 12 and at one time held all offices in the union. He was also a member of Master Builders, Eagles Aerie 706, Manitowoc Masonic Lodge 65, Manitowoc Chapter 16, Manitowoc Council 18 and Manitowoc Commandery 45. Survivors include his wife; a son, two daughters, a brother, 13 grandchildren and a great grandchild. A son, a sister and a brother preceded him in death. Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 4 p.m. Tuesday and from noon at church until the time of services Wednesday. A Masonic memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. KARL BOECKMANN cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 07 Jan. 1909: Carl Boeckmann, an 85-year old man living south of Manitowoc who has been known to walk in his sleep, on Sunday night wandered away from his house barefoot in his nightshirt. The old man was found Monday morning lying alongside a hedge. Because of his age it is feared there may be some aftermath. ************ From Der Nord Westen, 14 Jan. 1909: Carl Boeckmann, the old man we recently wrote about as a sleepwalker, had another episode Saturday night. This time he slipped on the ice and broke a hip. At his age of 88, an injury of this sort is very dangerous. ************ From Der Nord Westen, 20 May 1909: Death last week of 84-year old Carl Baeckmann in his home on Lake Shore Road. The deceased had come here from Germany in 1851. He leaves 8 children. The funeral was held Saturday.

ROBERT H. BOEDER cemetery #44 Robert Boeder, 79, of 2112 S. 16th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. John United Church of Christ, Manitowoc, with the Rev. Paul Blaufuss officiating and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. The American Legion Post 88 will conduct military rites at the graveside. Mr. Boeder was born April 3, 1890, at Manitowoc, son of the late Robert F. and Dora Wehausen Boeder. He married Martha Erdmann June 30, 1927, at Manitowoc, where the couple resided. Mr. Boeder was employed by Manitowoc Engineering Co. until he retired in 1958. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the 379th Infantry Machine Gun Battalion. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 88, World War I Barracks 2565. Survivors include his wife; a son, two daughters, a brother, Alfred, of Manitowoc; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence Knox of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Walter Dunfrund of Evanston, Ill., and Miss Elfrieda of Manitowoc, and six grand- children. JOHN BOEGE cemetery #82 John Boege of Kiel Dies at Home of Daughter Thursday Kiel, Wis. – John Boege, aged 77, passed away suddenly at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ludwig Duerrwachter, 640 Fremont street, this city. Mr. Boege was born November 5, 1861, in Schleswig township, the son of Jacob and Christina Reimer Boege, and was married to Miss Maria Balz of Schleswig October 11, 1883. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1933. After their marriage, the couple lived on the Boege homestead farm for 10 years and the family then came to Kiel. Mr. Boege owns the farm known as the Riverside tavern. He operated the first milk route in this city. A number of years ago he sold the homestead farm to Frederick Sieling and then purchased what is known as the Brooklyn tavern where he dealt in farm implements for many years. He sold this property and bought the farm where the Brooklyn filling station is located, which he operated for ____ {cut off} years when his son William ____ {cut off} over the business and the family came to Kiel. His son, William died February 16, 1920, and his wife preceded him on April 27, 1936. For the past ___ {cut off} and one-half years he lived with his daughter, at whose home he passed away. LYDIA BOEGE cemetery #82 Mrs. Otto A. Boege, 78, of 716 Sixth Street, Kiel, died last week Thursday at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton, after an illness of several months. The former Lydia Schreiber, she was born September 27, 1895, at Brillion, the daughter of the late Fred and Amanda Maass Schreiber. On November 28, 1929, she married Mr. Boege at the Lutheran Church in Brillion. The couple lived on a farm near New Holstein until their retirement in 1946 when they moved to Kiel. Her husband died July 8, 1971. Mrs. Boege was a member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Kiel. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Irma Wehausen of Golden, Colorado, and two brothers, Alfred of Chilton and Edmund of Manitowoc. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel, with the Reverend John F. Baumann, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Kiel Cemetery.
MARY BOEGE cemetery #82 Mrs. John Boege, 74 nee Mary Balz, died at her home at Calumet and River Drive Monday evening at 8:30 o’clock, following an illness of nine weeks. Born on a farm in the town of Schleswig, June 29, 1861, Mrs. Boege lived there for many years. Her marriage to John Boege of that township took place on October 11, 1883 and the couple operated several farms in the town of Schleswig. In 1916 they moved to their present home. Four children were born to them, one son, William, preceding his mother in death in 1920. Survivors are her husband, 3 daughters, Mrs. Ludwig (Mary) Duerrwaechter and Mrs. Arno (Ella) Keppler of this city; and Mrs. Fred (Anna) Duerrwaechter of New Holstein; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, John Balz and a sister, Mrs. Carl Petzoldt of this city. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the C. J. Meiselwitz Funeral Home here, with the Rev. E. L. Worthman of the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church officiating. She was employed as a domestic, and had lived in Kiel for the past 23 years. OTTO A. BOEGE cemetery #82 Otto A. Boege, 8O, of Kiel, died today at Calumet Memorial Hospital in Chilton. He was born in Kiel on Feb. 7, 1891, the son of the late Jacob and Minnie Feldt Boege. He attended Kiel public schools, and lived on a nearby farm until 1920 when he moved to a farm near New Holstein. He married the former Lydia Schreiber in Brillion Lutheran Church on Nov. 28, 1929. The couple retired in 1946 and moved to Kiel. He was a member of St. Peter United Churdh of Christ in Kiel. Mr. Boege is survived by his wife. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter Church, with the Rev. John F. Baumann, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kiel Cemetery. WILHELMINE BOEGE cemetery #82 Hold Rites for Mrs. Jacob Boege of New Holstein New Holstein – Funeral services for Mrs. Jacob Boege, who died Wednesday morning at her home in New Holstein after an illness of several months, will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the home and at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Reformed church. The Rev. A. G. Schmid will officiate and burial will be made in the Kiel city cemetery. The deceased was born November 27, 1862 in Germany and came to America at the age of three with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Feldt. The family located in Schleswig, Manitowoc county, and on May 24, 1888 she was married to Jacob Boege and they located on a farm near Kiel. Thirteen years ago the couple moved to a farm one mile north of New Holstein and for the past three years have made their home in New Holstein. The survivors are her husband, one son, Otto of the town of New Holstein; two daughters, Miss Meta at home, and Mrs. Herman Wendling of Kiel; one brother, August of Plymouth; two sisters, Mrs. Fred Winkel of Schleswig, and Mrs. Herman Stueven of Fond du Lac. WILLIAM BOEGE cemetery #82 The sad news spread over our village early Monday morning, that Wm. Boege, only son of Mr. and Mrs. John Boege of Kiel, had passed away at 6 o'clock that morning at his home in Kiel, of pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. Boege both took sick only a week before with the flu and Mr. Boege's case later developed into pneumonia. Mr. Boege was one of Kiel's respectable citizens and had a host of friends here, who deeply regret his departure. Four years ago last November he was united in marriage to Miss Nora Schueler of this village and they began housekeeping on the old Boege homestead. Besides his sorrowing wife he leaves one daughter, his parents, three sisters, Mrs. Ludwig Duerrwaechter and Miss Ella of Kiel and Mrs. Fred. Duerrwaechter of this village. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon. 1920 (no newspaper name) **************** WILLIAM BOEGE OF KIEL DEAD News was received here Monday morning by relatives that William Boege, only son of, Mr. and Mrs. John Boege of Kiel had expired after one week’s illness of pneumonia. The deceased was born in the town of Schleswig March 3l, 1889. After his graduation from the Kiel high school in 1907 he assisted his father on the farm and was at one time employed here. He was united in marriage to Miss Nora Schueler of here in 1915 and they began life together on the farm just outside the village limits of Kiel. For the past six months he has been acting as carrier on Routh No. 2 at Kiel. His wife and daughter contracted influenza, but believing that the exposure to wind and weather while performing his official duties would make him immune to the same disease relatives were shocked to learn that he was battling against pneumonia that resulted in his untimely death. He was a young man of excellent character and of quiet and unassuming manner which made him a general favorite with all who knew him. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, parents and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Duerwaechter of this village; Mrs. Ludwig Duerwaechter, Kiel and Miss Ella at home. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the home; interment taking place in the Kiel cemetery. Rev. Rech officiating. EARL P. BOEHRINGER cemetery #89A Earl P. Boehringer, age 92, a former Two Rivers resident, died Wednesday morning, February 4, 1998, at the Woodside Lutheran Home, Green Bay. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, 1998, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Edward Stelter will officiate with burial in Pioneer Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers. He was born April 11, 1905, in Two Rivers, son of the late William C. and Hulda Kasten Boehringer. He attended St. John Parochial School and Washington High School, graduating in 1923. He went to work in the family business after graduation. Upon the early death of his father, he took over the managing of the Boehringer Oil and Fuel Co. He was active in community affairs and devoted many hours to civic and service organizations. He was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce and the Two Rivers Lions Club. He was a past state director of the Wisconsin Upper Michigan Fuel Dealers Association, a past director of the State Ready Mix Association, and a past director of the Wisconsin Petroleum Association. He married the former Norine Valentine on July 15, 1930, in Suamico, Wis. Survivors include his wife, Norine; a daughter and son-in-law; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Friends may call at St. John Ev. AUGUST BOESELAGER cemetery #82 August Boeselager To Be Buried Thursday Afternoon. After an illness of about a year’s duration, August Boeselager aged 66, passed away at home at Seventh and St. Paul streets at 8:30 Monday evening. The deceased was born in the town of Schleswig, near Rockville, on August 30, 1872. In 1901 he was united in marriage with Miss Martha Brocker, to the couple took possession of the cheese factory on Highway 32, which he had built. In 1904 he sold the factory and moved to Chilton in 1910. From there they moved to this city where he was employed at the Kiel Wooden Ware Co. until 1920, when they moved to Kohler, where they resided until 1930, and then moved back this city. Survivors are his wife; 2 sons, Harvey of Belgium, and Angus of Sheboygan Falls. One daughter died in infancy, and a son, Chester passed away October 27, 1927 at the age of 20. Other survivors are: Three brothers, Fred of Hilbert, Edward of this city, and Louis of Sheboygan; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held, today (Thursday) at 2 p. m. at the C J. Meiselwitz Funeral Home, with interment made in the city cemetery. The Rev. E. L. Worthman conducted the services. (No newspaper named, 1939)
CHESTER BOESELAGER cemetery #82 Many Attend C. Boeselager Funeral Here Impressive funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Kohler and here for Chester Boeselager, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Boeselager, who died at the home of his parents at Kohler at 10:30 p.m. Saturday. He had been ill several weeks with pneumonia. Chester Frederick Edward Boeselager was born in Chilton March 7, 1907. Shortly after, his parents moved with the family to Kiel, where they made their home for some years, moving finally to Kohler several years ago, where Mr. Boeselager is now employed. Chester attended high school here for two years, and for the past two years had been employed in the Wooden Ware factory. He was a member of the Kiel Junior band and the local lodge of the Redmen, besides being a member of two bowling leagues. He is survived by his parents, and two brothers, Harvey at Kiel, and Anges at home with his father and mother. Funeral sevices were held at the Boeselager home in Kohler at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Kiel Junior band and the Redmen in attendance. From Kohler the funeral procession came to Kiel, where interment was made in the local cemetery. The Rev. Otto Saewert performed the last rites. Pall bearers were Harvey Kasten, Lester Mattes, Fred Zarnoth, Albert Huberty, Ray Voelker, and Eldred Voland. During the afternoon the Wooden Ware factory closed in order to allow the employes to attend the last rites. - 1927
CLARA BOESELAGER cemetery #84 From Der Nord Westen, 17 Oct. 1895: (From the correspondent in Kiel, 15 Oct.) Death of Miss Clara Boeselager, daughter of Dietrich Boeselager, a few days ago, of gallstones. An operation was performed by Drs. H. Schaper of Kiel and his brother, of Franklin, but she could not be saved. She was her father's only daughter and will be buried tomorrow in Rockville Cemetery near her mother.
MARTHA BOESELAGER Mrs. August Boeselager of Kiel passed away early Monday morning at Mercy hospital in Oshkosh following a lengthy illness. She was born in Town Schleswig on September 9, 1884, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Brocker. In 1901 she was married to August Boeselager. The couple operated a cheese factory in Town Eaton for three years and then moved to Chilton where they operated a tavern. They remained in Chilton until 1910. From 1910 to 1920 they resided in Kiel and during the following ten years were residents of Kohler. They returned to Kiel in 1930. Mr. Boeselager died in 1939. The deceased was a member of the Kiel G.U.G. Germania lodge. The survivors are; two sons, Hervey of Route 1, Plymouth, and Angus of Oshkosh; five grandchildren; two brothers, Fred and Arthur of Kiel; four sisters, Mrs. Edward Boeselager of Kiel; Mrs. Louis Haese of Reedsville, Mrs. Herman Siebert of Kiel and Mrs. George Bosma of Town Eaton. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, one daughter, one brother and a sister. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the St. Peter Evangelical and Reformed church by the Rev. E. L. Worthman. Burial will be made in the Kiel Cemetery. MARY ELLEN BOESELAGER cemetery #89D Mary Ellen Boeselager, age 70, of Two Rivers, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 25, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass will be the Rev. Larry Seidl. In accordance with Mary Ellen’s wishes, her body was donated to the UW Medical School at Madison. Her cremated remains will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers, at a later date. Mary Ellen was born on July 17, 1931 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late August and Mae Cain Nauman. She attended St. Mary’s Springs Academy in Fond du Lac, Wis., graduating with the class of 1949. On Sept. 2, 1950, Mary Ellen married James Boeselager at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Survivors include her husband, James Boeselager, Two Rivers; one son and daughter-in-law; five daughters and four sons-in-law; 10 grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including her special bridge playing friends. Mary Ellen was also preceded in death by an infant sister. The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, Jan. 25, 2002 at St. Mark Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. The family extends their heart-felt thanks to the entire staff of Aurora Medical Center for the kindness, care, and concern given to Mary Ellen, especially in the ICU and the Respiratory Unit Therapists. EDWARD BOETCHER cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 16 July 1908: Saturday afternoon 20-year old Edward Boettcher and several comrades went bathing in the river near the bridge of the Wisconsin Central Railroad. He could not swim and in a deep part of the river he sank before his comrades could help him. The body was recovered shortly after by policemen Carle and Christiansen. Boettcher had come here from Antigo in December last year and was employed in the shipyard. His funeral was held Monday afternoon.
ALVIN W. BOETTCHER cemetery #63 Alvin W. Boettcher, age 87, a resident of the Northridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, formerly of the town of Gibson, passed away Sunday evening, December 27, 1998, at the home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 1998, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, in the town of Gibson. Rev. William Zell will officiate with burial in the Mishicot Public Cemetery. Alvin was born March 27, 1911, in Green Bay, and was raised by William and Ernestine Vergiels Boettcher, and has been a lifelong area resident. He was confirmed at First Gjerpen Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, on May 17, 1925 and his confirmation memory verse was Matthew 18, 20. Where two or three are gathered together in my name there am I in the midst of them. Mr. Boettcher married the former Olive Worel on August 4, 1937, in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on October 4, 1996. He was employed as a hand trucker for the Hamilton Manufacturing Company, in Two Rivers, for 32 years until his retirement in 1975. Alvin enjoyed gardening, dancing and singing. Survivors include, two daughters and sons-in-law, four sons and three daughters-in-law; 36 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren, two great-great- grandchildren, and six step-great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law. Mr. Boettcher was also preceded in death by one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Vincent Posvic, Sr.; two great-great-grand-children; three step-sisters; three sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law, and three step-brothers-in-law. Mrs. Boettcher, nee Bessie Marie Pollock, was born Sept. 20, 1889, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Catherine Pollock. She attended schools in Manitowoc and was graduated from Manitowoc High School. She attended Milwaukee Teachers College. She was married to Otto Boettcher May 21, 1915, at Manitwooc. The couple resided in Manitowoc, until 1918, moving to Chilton. Her husband preceded her in death in 1933, when she came to Manitowoc. She was a member of the Federation of Women's Club of Chilton and a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 173 of Chilton, of which she was a 50-year member. She was also a member of the past matrons organization, First Church of Christian Scientist of Manitowoc and a member of the mother church at Boston, Mass. Survivors include two sons, John, of Mexico City and Dean, of Indianapolis, Ind., and nieces and nephews. Three sisters and five brothers preceded her in death. The deceased was born 18 Aug. 1813 in Sachsen-Weimar, married Miss Maria Magdelena Ernestine Baecker in 1840 and came to America with his family in 1852 settling in Town Liberty. He is survived by 3 children: Hermann Boettger, who runs a hay and fruit business in Two Rivers, Mrs. Julius Schroeter, and Mrs. Peter Heinz, 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was buried 20 Feb. in the Waldow Cemetery in Town Liberty, with Pastor Zanwell delivering the funeral oration. (Note: I believe Waldow is Valders/quite often W and V were used interchangeably and his wife appears to be in Valders cemetery)

Bethel W. “Beatle” Bohm, age 78 of Two Rivers, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, after a short illness, at the transitional unit of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center in Manitowoc, with his loving family at his side. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 23, 2004 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers. The Rev. David Rosenow will officiate at the service, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the VFW and American Legion Post of Two Rivers. Bethel was born March 17, 1925 in Two Rivers, a son of the late Elmer (Jake) and Birdeena Hempel Bohm. He attended St. John’s Parochial School, and Two Rivers Washington High School. Bethel served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1945 in the South Pacific during World War II. On Oct. 21, 1949, he was married to Irene M. Gilbert. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in Arizona visiting the Grand Canyon and Phoenix with family. Bethel was a semi-truck driver for many years, driving for Packerland Packing Co. and All American Transport. He was also a member of the Carpenters Union and worked with his son, Tom. After his retirement, Bethel took pride in helping Tom build, working part-time at Fox Hills, and Natural Ovens in Manitowoc. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, snowmobiling and golfing, and loved socializing, especially on St. Patrick’s Day, his birthday. Survivors include his wife: Irene; two sons and daughters-in-law; two daughters and sons-in-law; one grandchild; one great-grandchild and three step grandchildren. He is further survived by a brother; three sisters; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Patrick, in 1977. Mrs. Bohm was born on March 17, 1908, in the town of Gillett, Wis., daughter of the late Charles and Clara Olson. She married John Bohm on June 6, 1926, in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1983. Ethel was a member of the Ladies Aide Society of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Two Rivers Senior Citizens. LaVern E. “Boomer” Bohm, age 85, of Two Rivers, died Tuesday afternoon, June 20, 2006, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2006, at St. John’s Evanelical Lutheran Church, 17th and East Park Street, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Arndt with burial in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. He was born on April 10, 1921, in Angelica, Shawano County, a son of the late Edward and Ida Ollman Bohm. He attended school in Green Valley. On May 24, 1945, he married the former Joyce Meneau, in Two Rivers. LaVern served in the U.S. Army in Germany from Aug. 25, 1945 until Aug. 4, 1946. He was a member of VFW Post 1248, Two Rivers. He was employed at the Metal Ware Co. as a press operator for many years. He played softball for the Two Rivers Cubs and was the manager of the Labor Hall Team. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling. Survivors include his wife: Joyce Bohm; a son and daughter-in-law; two daughters and sons-in-law; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Arthur and Elmer Bohm; and three sisters: Etta Dufano, Irene Schnese and Laura Gates. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday morning, June 23, 2006, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11a.m. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School. God saw he was getting tired and a cure was not to be. Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. Michael Koch officiating. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Mr. Bohne was born Jan. 5, 1889, at Kewaunee, a son of the late Godfried and Mary Bohne. He married the former Pauline Pupeter at Two Rivers in 1910, who preceded him in death in 1931. He had been a longtime employe of Becker Mfg. Co. Foundry, Two Rivers, coming from Kewaunee as a young man. He retired in 1949. Survivors include a son, Harlan, of Two Rivers, four grand- children, and one great grandchild. Mr. Bohne, long-time treasurer of the Mosel-Centerville Telephone Company, had been living on the homestead farm with his wife since retiring from active farming in 1961. He was also superintendent and secretary of St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery at Spring Valley and a life-long member of the congregation. HERMAN H. BOHNE cemetery #61 Herman H. Bohne, 92, of Cleveland died Friday evening at Memorial Hospital, Sheboygan, where he had been confined six weeks. Funeral seervices will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. James Evangelical and Reformed Church, Spring Valley. The Rev. Merlin Huebschmann will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. He was born Jan. 18, 1868, in the Town of Meeme, son of John and Anna Maede Bohne. He married Anna Kolwey May 19, 1894, and the couple resided on the Bohne homestead in Spring Valley, farming until retirement in 1929. Then the Bohnes moved to Cleveland. His wife died in September, 1941, and later he married the former Ida Langenhahn April 25, 1943. He was a lifelong member of the church at Spring Valley and served as director and treasurer of Mosel-Centerville Telephone Co. from 1910 to 1951 when he resigned. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Henry on the homestead farm and Herman Jr., of St. Paul, Minn.; daughter, Mrs. Reuben Fries of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and five sisters. The deceased reached the age of 18 yrs. and was buried Sun. in the Kasson Cemetery by Pastor Kallemann of Morrison.
MRS. F. BOLDUS cemetery #89A A Woman Burned to Death at Two Rivers. Two Rivers, Wis., Feb. 15. - About 11 o'clock last evening a fire broke out in a large dwelling house and an adjoining hall, belonging to a widow, Mrs. F. Boldus. Before the arrival of the fire company the entire building was in flames, and the fire beyond control. Both buildins burned to the ground. A sick woman, on the second floor, was safely removed, but the old lady Boldus could not be reached, and perished in her bedroom on the second floor. Her remains were recovered shortly after, badly burned. The property loss is estimated at about $1,000; no insurance. The respected lady was born 1852 in Oldenburg, Germany, and was about 4 yrs. old when she came to America with her parents who settled on a farm a few miles from the city. Born Gesine Goedjen, she married Mr. Boldus when she was 23. She leaves her husband, 2 sons and 2 daughters. The funeral was Fri. afternoon from the Lutheran Church.

EVA BOLZ cemetery #83 The angel of death claimed Mrs. John R. Bolz, nee Eva Heimerl, on Wednesday morning, after a lengthy illness which led to inflammation of the brain. She was born in Marytown, on July 4, 1874. On June 20, 1893, she was united in marriage to Mr. Bolz and the couple resided on a farm about 2 miles west of Kiel, moving to this city in 1907. Her husband was employed by Meyer Bros. Co., but had to give up his position owing to poor health some time ago. The survivors are her husband, her mother, Mrs. Magdalena Heimerl; four daughters, Rose of Evanston, Ill., Olive, Salvina and Fidelia at home; two sons, Michael of Hayton, and Joseph of Fredonia; four brothers, Joseph and John Heimerl of Fredonia, Frank of St. Nazianz and Ben of Marytown; five sisters, Mrs. Jac. Ehlenbeck of St. Anna, Mrs. Ben Schaub, Mrs. Anna Gilgenbach, and Mrs. Walter Frank of Fond du Lac, and Mrs. John Gelling of Montana; also five grandchildren. JOSEPH BOLZ cemetery #83 Joseph F. Bolz, 75, of R. 2, Kiel, died unexpectedly Tuesday at the home of his son, Jerome, in Port Washington, where he and his wife had been visiting. Born May 27, 1894 in the Town of New Holstein, he was a son of the late John an Eva Heimerl Bolz. He attended Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Kiel, and Kiel High School. On Jan. 27, 1920 he married the former Eleanor Anhalt of the Town of Schleswig. The couple lived at Random Lake for several years and then located on a farm in the Town of Schleswig. In 1952 they moved to Kiel where he was employed at Foremost Dairy and for the past 13 years at A.T. Hipke Canning Co. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Parish and its Holy Name Society. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary on Jan. 25. Mr. Bolz was a WW I veteran, having served in Germany. He was awarded the purple heart for wounds received in the Argonne Forest. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, four sons, 30 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Four sisters, Mrs. Fidelia Macy and Mrs. Sally Krampe, both of Wawautosa, Mrs. Harold Schroeder of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Walter Masden of Sheboygan, and one brother, Michael J. of Chilton, also survive. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Kiel. The Rev. George Kiefer, pastor, will be celebrant of the requiem Mass, following brief family rites at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
