ANNA BRAUNREITER cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 10 Dec. 1908: Consumption took the life Saturday, after many months of illness, of 29-year old Mrs. Frank Braunreiter, a resident of North 22nd Street. Especially grievous is the fact that 2 of the deceased’s children were suffering from smallpox at the same time. It is of the mildest strain but there is concern when it is overlaid with sadness over their mother’s death. Because they were under quarantine, only a closed funeral could be held with just the immediate next of kin permitted to attend. [cause: tuberculosis]
