AGNES FECTEAU cemetery #32 Agnes Fecteau, age 84, of Two Rivers, died Wednesday afternoon, May 3, 1995, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 1995, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Paul Schumacher will officiate with entombment at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum. She was born January 20, 1911, in Red Lake Falls, Minn., daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Zins Johanneck. She attended schools in Red Lake Falls, Minn. She married Elmer Fecteau June 8, 1934, in Two Rivers. She was employed with Hamilton Manufacturing Company, Boehringer Oil and Fuel Company and Two Rivers Savings Bank as a teller. She was very active in the Ladies of Holy Redeemer and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. (Survivors omitted for privacy) She was preceded in death by three brothes and one sister. Friends may call at the Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels from 5-8 p.m. Friday. A prayer service will be held at 7:15 Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
CLARA FECHTER cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 11 Mar. 1909: After many months of terrible illness, death has released Mrs. Clara Fechter from her pain. Mrs. Fechter, widow of the late Geo. W. Fechter, was born 1835 in Germany and came to America as a young lady, spending the greater portion of her life as a resident of our city. She was well-known and highly respected here… She is survived by 4 sons, 3 daughters, and a host of grandchildren. Her funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock
GEORGE MENDLIK FECHTER cemetery #33 George Mendlik Fechter, 85, of 509 S. Clair St., Manitowoc, died Friday at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Private family funeral services will be at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Harvey will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth. Mr. Fechter was born Dec. 6, 1887, at Manitowoc, son of the late George William and Pauline Mendlik Fechter. He was graduated from Manitowoc High School, and the Universities of Chicago and Wisconsin. He married Alvie Barta Aug. 8, 1915, at Manitowoc, residing here. He was a self employed certified public accountant, retiring in 1968. He was a well known Civil War collector. He was also a War Historian and early period stamp collector. He was a 50 year member of the United Commercial Travelers and St. James Episcopal Church, Manitowoc. Survivors include his wife, a son George William, of Winter Park, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Pauline) Basinger, of Milwaukee; and three grandchildren. There will be no visitation. GEORGE FEHRENBACH cemetery #21 George Fehrenbach, 78, who has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Nick Steffen of St. Nazianz for the past seventeen years, died Wednesday morning at 5:15 o'clock following a two weeks' illness. Born in Baden, Germany, September 24, 1857, Mr. Fehrenbach came to America and settled in St. Nazianz with his parents at the age of four years. For 25 years he lived in Perham, Minn., and seventeen years ago returned to St. Nazianz to live with his nephew, Mr. Steffen. He never married. Mr. Fehrenbach was a member of the Holy Name society. The society will attend the funeral in a body and will recite the rosary at the Forester hall in St. Nazianz Friday evening at 7:30. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Caroline Steffen, near Kiel. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the St. Gregory's church, St. Nazianz. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie at the Forester hall until the time of the services. MARIA URSULA FEHRENBACH cemetery #9 From Der Nord Westen, 31 Dec. 1896: Death of Mrs. Maria Ursula Fehrenbach in the home of her son-in-law Edward Kohn in Centerville. She was the widow of Anton Fehrenbach who died 14 yrs. ago. She suffered for several weeks with a heavy cold from which she never recovered and died at 6 a.m. Mon. morning, at age 78. The funeral is taking place this morning at 10 a.m. at the Catholic Church in Centerville. Professor William Dejalle will provide the requiem. The deceased was born in Belikan, Canton Aargau, Switzerland, married in 1850 and came to American with her husband in 1852. They settled in Centerville Village which has been their home for over 40 yrs. She leaves 7 children, in good circumstances, 34 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. 4 of her children live Menomenee, Mich. – Mrs. Leisen, Mrs. Herrmann, Joseph and John Fehrenbach; 2 live in Chilton – Mrs. Gallogly and Mrs. John Berger; and Mrs. Edward Kohn lives here in Centerville.

GUSTAVE FEHRS cemetery #44 From Der Nord Westen, 13 Jan. 1898 Gustave Fehrs closed his eyes for the last time Tues. morning. He was born 18 Aug 1829 in Halberstadt in the Prussian Province of Saxony. He learned the watchmaker profession and after his marriage, emigrated to America in 1854. He spent one year in the eastern states, coming to Manitowoc in 1855 where he has been a resident for the last 44 years. Despite problems - he lost several children and sustained a leg amputation - he cheerfully persevered and was counted among the eminent German citizens of our city. He is survived by his widow and three children: Mr. G.A. Fehrs, who took over hs father's business sometime ago, Mrs. White in Antigo and Mrs. Haukohl in Milwaukee. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the funeral home on 8th Street.

ALFRED R. FEILE cemetery #86 Alfred R. Feile, age 81, of 931 Sixth Street, Kiel, died Saturday morning, Oct. 19, 1991, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. He was born March 13, 1910, in the Town of Schleswig, son of the late Rudolph and Hannah (Reineck) Feile. He attended Kiel Grade School and was a 1928 graduate of Kiel High School. He attended the School of Carpentry in Chicago, after which he worked as a carpenter and on his father's farm. On June 15, 1935, he married Marielle Rehm at the Reformed Church in New Holstein. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in June 1985. They farmed in the Town of Schleswig from 1935 to 1964, when they moved to Louis Corners, where he worked as an electrician and plumber with Gordon Salzman until his retirement in 1970. He was an avid woodworker and dancer. He and his wife were charter members of the Kiel Square Dancing Club and the Melody Dancers Club. He was a certified member of the American Tree Farm System. Survivors include his wife, Marielle; one son, two daughters, five grnae- sons and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (no name of newspaper or date)
ANNA FEILE cemetery #84 Mrs. M. Feile, 75, Dies Wednesday The death of Mrs. Mathias Feile, 75, occurred Wednesday afternoon shortly before six o’clock at her home on Fourth street. Her demise was due to a paralytic stroke. She had enjoyed good health up to the close of the year. Mrs. Feile, nee Anna Amalia Edens, was born in Neunkirchen, Holstein, Germany, on Feb. 18, 1853. At the age of seven years, she came with her parents to America, settling in the village of New Holstein. Here she lived until the time of her marriage on Sept. 2, 1870, to Mathias Feile, when the couple moved to the farm now occupied by Gustave Grabs east of Kiel. This farm they occupied until 1905, when they moved to Kiel. Ten children were born to the couple, three of whom preceded their mother in death. The surviving children are Mrs. Emma Anold, Mrs. Johanna Duecker, and Mrs. Ella Reineck, of this city; Rudolph Feile of Kiel; Robert of Reedsville; William of Philadelphia; and Henry, of Kewaunee. No sisters or brothers survive. Nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren remain. For the past 15 years Mrs. Feile made a home for her granddaughter Elsie, who was made an orphan in her infancy. In 1929 Mr. and Mrs. Feile observed their golden wedding anniversary. The deceased was a charter member of the Kiel Frauenverein. Funeral services, in charge of the Rev. Otto Saewert, will be held Saturday afternoon at half past one at the Feile home, and at two o’clock at the Reformed church, with interment at the Rockville cemetery. CLARENCE FEILE cemetery #84 Retired Lt. Colonel Clarence Feile, age 73, formerly of 5258 West Shore Drive, Sturgeon Bay, died Monday morning, October 24, at St. Mary's Retirement Home in Manitowoc. He was a resident there since May. He was born July 18, 1915, in Plymouth, son of Henry and Anna Gierke Feile. He was a 1933 graduate of Kewaunee High School. He received a bachelor degree in philosophy from UW-Madison in 1940. In 1940, he was assigned to the U.S. Air Force. In 1941, he was advanced into Air Force rank, continuing such duty until his retirement in 1965. During his career, he served in England, Italy, Germany, Africa, France and eight years in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He was a member of George C. Whiting Lodge Number 22, Washington D.C., PGA Temple, AVONM of Green Bay, Mother Scothish(sic) Rite of Freemasonry, G.C. Number 35 in Washington D.C. and Green Bay. Survivors invlude nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home in Kiel. HELEN FEILE cemetery #84 Mrs. Robert C. Feile, 85, formerly of Reedsville, died Sunday night at Memorial Hospital in Appleton. She had been living in Appleton with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Beilke. The former Helen Fluhr was born Dec. 2, 1876, in the Town of Schleswig, a daughter of the late Frederick and Katherine Balz Fluhr. She was married Nov. 17, 1898, to Robert C. Feile. The couple spent most of their married life at Reedsville. Mrs. Feile was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Women’s Guild of Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church, Reedsville. Surviving are a son, Hugo, of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Beilke, Appleton; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. John Henschel and Mrs. William Kriegelstein, both of Kiel, and Mrs. Fred Steffen, Wausau; and two brothers, Edwin of New Holstein and John, Chilton. Her husband and two daughters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church, Reedsville. The Rev. Lloyd Fried will officiate and burial will be in the Schleswig cemetery.
HENRY O. FEILE cemetery #84 H.O. Feile Dies at Home of Kiel Sister Henry O. Feile, aged 56, of Kewaunee, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Emma Arnold here at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. He had been ill for a year. Mr. Feile was born in the town of Schleswig, October 3, 1885, the son of Mathias and Anna F. Feile. He attended the local schools and at the age of 16 years became an apprentice in the moulder's trade, which he followed for 41 years. For the past 17 years he had worked at the Frank Hamacheck Machine Company, becoming inactive five months ago. He was a member of the International Moulder's Union of Manitowoc and the Masonic Lodge of Kewaunee. He married Anna Gierke of Plymouth on September 8, 1914. The couple resided at Appleton for three years and at Manitowoc for 9 years, and for the past 17 years had lived in Kewaunee. Survivors are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. Athniel (Elsie) Raquet of this city; two sons, Clarence of Jefferson Barracks, Mo., and Norman at home; two grandchildren, Gordon and Glorian Raquet; three sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Emma Arnold and Mrs. Herman J. Duecker of this city, and Mrs. Ella Reineck of Appeton; Rudolph Feile of Kiel, and Robert of DePere and William of Philadelphia, Pa. JOHANNA FEILE cemetery #82 Mrs. Rudolph Feile, 66, of Louis Corners, died Saturday afternoon at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sts. Peter- Paul Evangelical - Reformed church, the Rev. E.L. Worthman officiating. Burial will be in the Kiel cemetery. Mrs. Feile, nee Johanna Reineck, was born in the town of Rhine in 1881, and in 1905 was married to Rudolph Feile. They lived on the Feile home- stead farm until 1920, when they moved to Kiel. Twelve years ago they bought their present farm near Louis Corners. Survivors are the husband; daughter, Mildred of Manitowoc; son, Alfred of Schleswig; two sisters, Marion Reineck of Sturgeon Bay and Mrs. Frieda Jacshob of Appleton; two brothers, Herman of Illinois and Peter of Appleton; and three grandchildren. The body may be viewed at the Meiselwitz funeral home until 11 a.m. Tuesday when it will be moved to the church to lie in state until the hour of services. MARIELLE FEILE cemetery #86 Marielle M. Feile, 95, of 212 E. Fremont St. Kiel, passed away Thursday evening September 11, 2008 at Homestead Care Center where she had been a resident for the past 6 days. She is the former Marielle Rehm born August 7, 1913 in New Holstein, daughter of the late John and Katherine (Trost) Rehm. Marielle attended Meade Grade School in the Town of New Holstein and was a 1931 graduate of New Holstein High School. On June 15, 1935, she married Alfred Feile at the Reformed Church in New Holstein and he preceded her in death on October 19, 1991. The couple farmed on the Feile Homestead in rural Kiel until retiring in 1964 when they moved to Louis Corners. Marielle and her husband enjoyed traveling to foreign countries and across America. Her favorite pastime was dancing, first square dancing and then ballroom dancing and she and her husband Alfred were very active in various dance clubs. Marielle was also very active with the Kiel Senior Center and the Kiel Singing Seniors. She also belonged to the Kiel Study Club for 70 years. Marielle enjoyed spending time with her family and most recently celebrated her 95th birthday with her family of 4 generations. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, sewing and playing cards. Survivors include her three children, four Grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St. Kiel. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. until the time of services. Inurnment will take place at Union Cemetery, Town of Schleswig at a later date. MATHIAS FEILE cemetery #84 Math. Feile, 85, Dies at Home of Mrs. Arnold Pioneer of This Vicinity Passes Away On Wednesday Reaching the advanced age of 85, Matthias Feile, for 75 years a resident of this vicinity, passed away early Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Emma Arnold. Death was attributed to a complication of diseases. Mr. Feile was born Dec. 17, 1847, in Germany. When he was five years old he came to this country with his parents, who settled in the town of Nine near Thiensville. In 1858 they purchased the farm two miles north of Kiel now owned by Rudolph Feile, son of the deceased. On this farm he remained until 1905, when he came to Kiel to make his home. While in Kiel he devoted the greater part of his time to the manufacture of concrete vaults. He was married in September, 1870, to Miss Anna Edens of Germany, who passed away Jan. 24, 1928. Ten children were born to the couple, a daughter and two sons dying in infancy. The seven surviving children are: Mrs. Emma Arnold, and Mrs. Herman (Johanna) Duecker of Kiel, and Mrs. Ella Reineck of Appleton; Robert at Reedsville, Rudolph on the homestead farm, William of Pennsylvania, and Henry of Kewaunee. Nine grandchildren and 2 great- granchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, with services at the Arnold home at 1:30 and at the St. Peter Reformed church at two o'clock. Burial will be in the Rockville cemetery. NORMAN R. FEILE cemetery #84 SERGEANT NORMAN R. FEILE IS KILLED IN ACTION The entire community was saddened on Thursday morning of last week to learn that another of its fine young men, Sergeant Norman R. Feile, had been killed in action in Germany on April 9th. The announcement of his death came in a message from the war department to his mother, Mrs. Henry Feile. Sergeant Feile, who was in his 22nd year, was born at Manitowoc on July 1, 1923. He came to Kewaunee with his parents on June 1, 1925 and had been a resident of this community continuously from that time until he entered the military service on March 27, 1943. He graduated from the Kewaunee High School with the Class of 1941 with a very fine scholastic and athletic record and later entered the employ of Frank Hamachek Machine Co., until called into the service of his country. He received his early military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and later was stationed at Fort Collins, Colorado, and at Camp San Luis Obispo, California, before going overseas. His father died on March 3, 1942 and his is survived by his mother, a sister, Mrs. Athinel (Elsie) Raquet of Kiel, and a brother, Major Clarence Feile, with the air forces of the army in Italy. The death of Sergeant Feile again impressed upon the community the tragedy of war and it brought sadness to the hearts of everyone. His friendliness and his modest and unassuming manner won for him the admiration and affection of a host of friends. He exemplified the ideals of the ambitions of sturdy American manhood and his companions of school days and his associates of later years who knew him as the fine, upstanding young man that he was are deeply grieved in his untimely death. ROBERT C. FEILE cemetery #84 Robert C. Feile, 88, of Reedsville, died early today at the Manitowoc County Hospital. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Frieden's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Reedsville, The Rev. Lloyd Fried, pastor will officiate and burial will be in Schleswig Cemetery near Kiel. Friends may call at the Reedsville Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Tuesday until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church after 11 a.m. Mr. Feile was born Aug. 12, 1872 in the Town of Schleswig, a son of the late Mathias and Anna Edens Feile, and married Helen Fluhr on Nov. 17, 1898, at Schleswig. He operated a machine shop in Reedsville for about 50 years. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1948. Survivors are his wife; a son, Hugo of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Beilke of Appleton; one brother, Rudolph of Kiel; two sisters, Mrs. Johanna Duecker of Kiel, Mrs. Ella Reineck of Appleton, and four grand- children. RUDOLPH FEILE cemetery #82 Rudolph A. Feile, 91, of 931 6th St., Kiel, a retired Town of Schleswig farmer, died Thursday afternoon at Manitowoc County Hospital. He was a patient there for a week and for 60 days prior to that at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. He was born Feb. 3, 1879 in the Town of Schleswig on the Feile home farm, son of the late Mathias and Ann Edens Feile. He attended Kiel public schools. On March 11, 1905, he married the former Johanna Reineck of Millhome. After their marriage they lived on the Feile hom farm which they operated until 1920 when they moved the(sic) Kiel. He was employed there as a carpenter and later returned to farming until his retirement in 1949, when he moved back to Kiel. His wife preceded him in death in December, 1947. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Mildred MacRavey, Kiel; one son, Alfred, Kiel; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Ella Reineck, Appleton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, the Rev. Allen L. Bowe, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, Kiel, officiating. Burial will be in Kiel Cemetery. She was married in Indiana in 1915 to William Ploeckelmann and a year later moved to Manitowoc where her husband died in 1937. She was married to Louis Feistel at Manitowoc Oct. 13, 1953. Burial will be in St. Michael parish cemetery, Whitelaw. Miss Felber was born Dec. 7, 1894, at Manitowoc Rapids, daughter of the late Anton and Anna Felber. She received her primary education in the Manitowoc County school system. Miss Felber entered nurses training at Chicago in 1915 and graduated in 1918. She then performed institutional work in supervisory positions and private duty until 1922 when she began post-graduate work in anethesia at St. Luke Hospital, Chicago. In 1927 Miss Felber became the first anesthetist at Billings Hospital, University of Chicago, until 1933, when she joined the staff at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. In 1954 she transferred to McFarland Clinic at Ames, Iowa, until 1958 when she retired and returned to Manitowoc where she was employed for several years as a relief worker at Holy Family Hospital. She was a member of the St. Paul Christian Mothers Altar Society. Surviving are nieces and nephews. He was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II. On June 4, 1949 he married the former Alice Meiselwitz, at St. John United Church of Christ, New Holstein. He was employed at Stoelting, Inc., Kiel, for over 30 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Peter UCC, Kiel, and American Legion Post #124 of New Holstein. LOUIS FELD (d. 1950) cemetery #82 Last rites of Louis Feld were held from the Trinity Lutheran church Monday afternoon. Mr. Feld died at a Sheboygan hospital Friday, where he had been a patient for several weeks. His last illness was the result of a broken hip suffered when he fell from a ladder in his orchard. He was 81 at the time of his death. He was born in Mosel township, August 29, 1869. On January 27, 1895 he married Mary Nielsen of Illinois and the couple lived on a farm near Louis Corners until 1923, when they moved to Kiel. He is survived by his wife and two daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. Walter Voland, Kiel; Mrs. Eugene Allinger, Milwaukee, Louis of Kiel and John of Milwaukee. The former Mary Nielsen, she was born in Saal, Denmark, Feb. 18, 1876, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Nielsen. She came to the United States with her brother, Soren, at the age of 18, and lived in Hebron, Ill. She was married in the Town of Mosel Jan. 25, 1895, to Louis Feld. They operated a farm at Louis Corners, Manitowoc County, until 1924 when they retired and moved to Kiel. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1945. Mr. Feld died in November 1956. Mrs. Feld was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kiel, the Ladies’ Aid Society, and the Kiel Frauen Verein. She was married at Green Bay to Emil Feldausen June 5, 1901, and the couple came to Manitowoc in 1908. He died Nov. 6, 1956. Mrs. Feldhausen was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and served as a past noble grand. She had been a member of the Women's Benefit Assn., the Pioneers Club, Ladies Aid Society and the Guild of the church. Mrs. Feldhausen is survived by a son, Harold of Fort Worth, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. L.B. He was born April 17, 1939 in the Town of Russell, a son of Arno and Margaret Fromm Feldmann. He attended Elkhart Lake Schools and was a 1957 graduate of Elkhart Lake High School. He was a member of the US Army Reserve from 1957 to 1963. On July 2, 1960 he married Berneda Schubert of Glenbeulah. He was employed at Stoltenberg Engineering at Elkhart Lake. ARNO A. FELDMAN cemetery #82 Arno A. Feldman, 57, an Elkhart Lake tavern owner, died Monday afternoon at 5 p.m. at his home in Elkhart Lake. He was born on March 3, 1898, in the Town of Rhine, the son of the late Valentine and Magdelena Kuestner Feldmann. He was married to the former Margaret Fromm of Kiel on March 25, 1919. The couple resided in Kiel for two years and lived in the Town of Rhine for 11 years and operated a farm in the Town of Russell for 10 years. The past 13 years they resided at Elkhart Lake. He was an honorary member of the Elkhart Lake Fire Department and a member of the Kiel branch of the Redmen Lodge. He is survived by his wife, five sons, LeRoy, Howard, Arno Jr., Alfred and Ronald, all of Elkhart Lake; four daughters, Mrs. Victor (Lou Ella) Theverel of Fond du Lac; Mrs. Norman (Audrey) Burkhardt, Mrs. Melvin (Inez) Mayer, Mrs. Arno (Doreen) Miller, all of Elkhart Lake; two sisters, Mrs. Walter Laack, Town of Herman; and Mrs. Albert Stietz, Plymouth; a brother, Walter of the Town of Rhine; and eight grandchildren. She was the wife of Mr. Heinrich Feldsiehn who was taken by a stroke on 31 Jan. She was born in Eutin, Oldenburg. She emigrated to Two Rivers in 1847. In the year 1850 her first husband Hans Detleff Dunke and her son Thomas Dunke, both died within one day. She remarried in 1857 to Heinrich Feldsiehn, lived in Two Rivers and Mishicott, and for the last 7 years in Branchmills where her husband had a store. A son from the first marriage, about 20 years of age, lives in Cal. and came home to visit his mother during her illness. The deceased was 62 years of age. Interment was last Monday in Two Rivers.

She had been ill for a long time but has always been up and about. This time she was in Two Rivers when she began to feel worse and asked to be taken home. Her relatives there took her to F. Ruelle who sent for her son who was a few hours away. She died before the son could be summoned. She was 54 and leaves 6 mostly grown children. Her husband had preceded her in death several years ago.

He was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co. rolling mill for 13 years. He then operated a farm on County Trunk Q, five miles north of Manitowoc until 1962 when he retired and moved to Manitowoc. He also worked at Manitowoc Engineering Co. for 10 years before retiring. He was an honorary member of Machinists Local No. 516. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Doris) Holschbach of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, and Miss Grace, at home; a brother, Peter, of Sheboygan; a sister, Mrs. John Klein, of Milwaukee, and a granddaughter. ANTON FELTMAN cemetery #43 Anton Feltman, 65, of 1313 S. 20th St., Mantiowoc, died Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. He had been ill six days. Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Feltman was born at Manitowoc Sept. 19, 1894, son of the late John and Emma Nespodzinay Feltman. He was employed 33 years by Mirro Aluminum Co., Manitowoc, and was a member of its Twenty-Five Year Club. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Feltman married Martha Novak Sept. 29, 1919. She died Dec. 3, 1957. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Gilmore Jr., of Milwaukee; a brother, Alois of Manitowoc; four sisters, Mrs. Edna Novak, Mrs. Ella Karthieser, Mrs. Ellison Bebeau and Mrs. Anton Zboralski of Manitowoc; and a grandchild. CHARLES W. FENLON cemetery #55 Charles W. Fenlon, 42, Milwaukee iron worker, and former county resident, died this morning of a fractured skull at the Holy Family hospital. He slipped and fell late Saturday afternoon on a patch of ice near the home of his brother, Gordon, in Maple Grove, where he was visiting. Brought to the hospital Sunday morning he died 24 hours later. Mr. Fenlon was born in Maple Grove in 1904(sic), the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Fenlon. When a young man he moved to Milwaukee where he had been employed as an iron worker for 15 years. Survivors are five brothers, Thomas, Eugene, Elmer and Gordon of Maple Grove and Alex of Pontiac, Mich. Funeral servives will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick's Catholic church, Maple Grove, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. MARIE FENLON cemetery #16 Mrs. John (Marie) Fenlong, 90, formerly of 124 Cherry Ave., Francis Creek, died Thursday evening, June 27, 1991, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and 10 a.m. at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. Donald Schneider will officiate with burial to follow in St. James Cemetery, Cooperstown. The former Marie Hessel was born August 26, 1900, in Francis Creek, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Blummel Hessel. On October 20, 1926, she was married to John G. Fenlon at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Together Mr. and Mrs. Fenlon owned and operated Fenlon's Grocery in Cooperstown from 1930, retiring in 1971. The couple moved to Francis Creek in 1977. She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church and St. James Christian Mothers Society, Cooperstown. Survivors include her husband, John of Francis Creek; a son and daughter-in-law, two daughters and sons-in-law, 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Landt, four sisters and two brothers. The couple located at Manitowoc and celebrated its golden wedding anniversary March 26, 1963. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Shrine Auxiliary and the Memorial Hospital Guild. She was a former soloist and director of the First Presbyterian choir. She was also a member of the Monday Music Club and the Elk's Ladies. JAMES FERGUSON cemetery #44 DEATH COMES TO J.W. FERGUSON WITH NO WARNING Returns Home from Day's Labors and Is Stricken. James W. Ferguson, father of S.K. Ferguson of the Wisconsin Pea Canners Co. and a resident here with his son for the past eight months, died suddenly at the Ferguson home on North Sixth Street last night. Mr. Ferguson was 62 years of age. Mr. Ferguson, although he had been ailing for some time, was not thought to be seriously ill and had been at his post at the plant of the Aluminum Goods Co., where he had been employed, yesterday. He returned home from the office at the usual hour and though he appeared weary did not complain of any serious illness and his death, which occurred while the family were in the home during the evening, came as a great shock. Physicians who were summoned when Mr. Ferguson collapsed, were unable to revive him and death ensued in a short time. Mr. Ferguson was a native of New York state but since manhood had made his home at Chicago up until a few months ago when he and Mrs. Ferguson came here to be with their son. During his residence, Mr. Ferguson has made many friends to whom his death will bring sorrow. Mr. Ferguson is survived by his wife and one son. Lester J. Ferry, age 71 of Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Friday evening, October 26, 2001 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10 a m. on Tuesday Oct 30, 2001 at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Larry Seidl, with burial to follow in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Two Rivers VFW and American Legion Posts. Lester was born July 18, 1930, in Two Rivers, son of the late Earl and Marie Sladky Ferry. He attended school in Two Rivers. On December 22, 1947 he entered the United States Army and served during the Korean Conflict, until 1951. He was a member of the 24th Infantry Division, 1st. Battalion. 21st Regiment and Company B. He received numerous service metals(sic), including the Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and a Bronze Star. On September 12, 1953, he was married to Rose Ott, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple celebrated 48 years of marriage this past September. Lester was employed with Kornely Dairy for 21 years, and later with Kelvinator Co. of Manitowoc. He also worked part-time at E. V. M. after his retirement. Lester was a member of the Two Rivers VFW Post #1248; he enjoyed time spent with family, friends, and especially his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by his family. She attended St. Mark Parochial School and Two Rivers Washington High School, graduating with the class of 1947. On Sept. 12, 1953 she married Lester J. Ferry at St. Mark Catholic Church. He preceded her in death Oct. 26, 2001, Rose was employed at the Metal Ware Corp. for several years and in 1959 began working at Paragon Electric Co., where she worked for 39 years, retiring in 1998. After her retirement she worked part-time at Evans of Two Rivers, until the present time. She was a lifelong member of St. Mark Parish, where she was an active member of the Ladies of St. Mark. She enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren. He lived in the School Hill area most of his life and worked for more than 30 years for the Brost Meat Market, School Hill. He never married. MANITOWOC EVENING TIMES September 14,1942 FESSLER (edited for possible living persons) Carl Fessler Sr. , 81, pioneer resident of the town of Eaton, died Monday at the Holy Family hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30am from the St. Gregory's Catholic Church at St. Nazianz. Interment will be in the village cemetery. Mr. Fessler was born in Germany in 1860 and when a boy, accompanied his parents to this country. The family settled at St Nazianz and later moved to the homestead farm two miles south of the village. As a young man, he worked six years at the Holy Family convent at Silver Lake. In 1891, he married Margaret Meyer and they moved to the farm home at Eaton. Mrs. Meyer died two years ago. Survivors are five sons, two daughters, and 19 grandchildren. The body may be viewed at the Fessler home.

She was born April 14, 1854, in Germany, and came here at the age of 2, settling with her parents near Silver Lake in Manitowoc county. She married Anton Fessler Sept. 2, 1872, and after their marriage the couple settled three miles northwest of St. Nazianz. He died 24 years ago. Mrs. Fessler, nee Groetzinger, was a member of the Christian Mothers' society of Holy Trinity church, School Hill. She is survived by nine children, 24 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. The children are four daughters, Mrs. Frank Sadkowski, and Mrs. John Reinhart, St. Nazianz, Mrs. Peter Brost, of St. Fidelis, and Mrs. John Brost, of School Hill, and five sons, Anton, Carl and George of St. Nazianz, and Joseph and Frank of School Hill. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m from the St. Gregory's Catholic Church in St. Nazianz with interment in the church cemetery. Mrs. Fessler, nee Margaret Meyer, was born in Eaton in 1861 and in 1891, was married to Joseph Fessler. They located on the homestead farm, a short distance south of St. Nazianz. Survivors are the widower: five sons, two daughters, two brothers, three sisters. Mrs. Fessler was a member of the Christian Mothers, who will meet at the home Friday evening to recite the rosary. MARY FESSLER cemetery #21 Rites Held Tuesday For Mrs. Carl Fessler. Funeral services for Mrs. Carl Fessler, 73, were held Tuesday morning from St. Gregory's Catholic church in St. Nazianz. Mrs. Fessler died at Holy Family hospital Saturday. The former Mary Himmelsbach, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Himmelsbach of St. Nazianz, was born February 20, 1882, in the town of Schleswig. She was married to Carl Fessler in St. Nazianz in 1904. The couple lived in St. Nazianz for several years after their marriage and then moved to a farm two miles west of the village. In 1942 the couple retired from the farm and moved back to St. Nazianz. Mrs. Fessler was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and the Christian Mothers' society of the St. Gregory church. She and her husband celebrated their golden wedding anniversary June 6, 1954. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. William Bushman, Osman; Mrs. Ira Holmer, Minneapolis; Mrs. Clarence Brill, New Holstein. Also eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Manitowoc, Wisconsin, died late Monday evening, April 4, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. A requiem memorial Mass will be held at 10 am Thursday at St. Joseph Chapel, 1825 S. Riverside Drive, Green Bay. The Rev. Edward Bujarski will officiate and private family commital services will be held Wednesday afternoon at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Mr. Fessler was born Jan 21, 1906 at St. Nazianz, son of the late Joseph (also known as Carl) and Margaret Meyer Fessler. He married Alexia Meyer Sept 1, 1938 and after marriage, the couple resided in Manitowoc. Mr. Fessler had been employed by the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company for 48 years, retiring in 1974. Survivors include his wife, a son and daughter in law, a daughter, a brother, a sister, and five grandchildren. A sister, Mary and three brothers, Matt, Joseph and Frank preceded him in death. Frank E. Fetzer, age 59, of Manitowoc, died early Sunday morning, November 24, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 1996, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 am. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Gerald Foley with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. He was born June 4, 1937, in the town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, son of the late Frank J. and Nora Holsen Fetzer. He attended St. Anne’s School in Francis Creek and was a graduate of Mishicot High School in 1954, being class president. On July 6, 1963, he married the former Janet A. Westphal at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Clement P. Kern presided at the marriage of the couple. The couple resided in the city of Manitowoc since their marriage. Frank started his employment with the Hamachek Company as an automobile insurance salesman and soon began his career in auto sales working in various positions as used car manager, sales manager and sales at Hamachek, Lauson Chevrolet and currently Maritime Ford. Frank enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He had a beautiful singing voice and enjoyed singing country music and playing his guitar, especially around the campfire. Frank also sang with the Meistersingers Guild in the 1950’s. (Survivors omitted for privacy) He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Frank was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family. We will remember his hearty laugh and ever so kind heart. FRANZ FETZER cemetery #39 From Der Nord Westen, 16 Feb. 1888 Death last Sat. (11 Feb.) near Branch Mills, of Mr. Franz Fetzer, one of the oldest and best known farmers of our county. The deceased was the last of the widely known and respected Fetzer brothers. He leaves a grieving widow and five grown children. Burial took place on Tues., 14 Feb., in the Catholic Cemetery in Town Kossuth.

Fetzer, 84, died unexpectedly late Wednesday morning at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Oreste Brazzale, of Rockwood where she had made her home 13 years. Funeral services will be at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Whitelaw. The former Margaret Frances Pankratz was born July 17, 1882, at Cato, daughter of the late Michael and Margaret Schleis Pankratz. She attended schools at Cato and Whitelaw and had been employed as a clerk at the Walter Killen General Store, Cato, before she was married at Clarks Mills to Godfrey P. Fetzer June 7, 1910. They observed the golden anniversary of the wedding in 1960. The couple farmed in the Town of Franklin from 1910 until retiring in 1945. They lived four years in the Town of Franklin, then moving to Rockwood. Mr. Fetzer died in 1961. Mrs. Fetzer had been a member of St. Michael Catholic Church Christian Mothers Society for 50 years and of St. Ann Catholic Church Christian Mothers Altar Society for 15 years. Mrs. Fetzer is survived by two sons, Donald and William Getzer, of Green Bay, two daughters, Mrs. Harry J. Kelley, of Manitowoc and Mrs. Oreste Brazzale, of Rockwood, 12 grandchildren and a great grandchild. A daughter preceded her in death. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Friday where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by members of the Christian Mothers societies of St. Michael and St. Ann Catholic churches. The deceased, who was about 24 yrs. old, went swimming with friends last Tues. at Stuempge's Lake. He jumped into the water from a boat, got cramps, and drowned before the others could save him. John Feuerstein died during Tues. night and was buried Fri. morning from the Catholic Church. The deceased, who leaves a host of friends here, was only *7 (disturbed type; could be either 27 or 37). He was an excellent fisherman who worked hard and owned a gasoline powered boat and many nets. His business was worth $1,400. He was unmarried but had recently become engaged to a fine girl. It is said he left no will so his estate will certainly go to his parents. He was the eldest of 7 children and in addition to his parents is survived by 5 brothers and one sister.
