      1.  MArgaret1 Hoffmann, daughter of Matthias Hoffmann and Catherina 
            Scheuer, was born in Pruessen, Germany September 18, 1848. There 
            is conflicting information as to the year of her birth that may be 
            resolved by find the Hoffmanns on a ship docking in America

          She married LOuis Fields in Mishicott, Wis., July 16, 1866. A Civil 
          marriage in Mishicott. He was living in Two Rivers at the time. 
          LOuis was born in Detroit, Michigan January 25, 1845.  He was the son 
          of Louis Fields and Phillipine Sonis LaRue.  LOuis died February 1, 1935 
          in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at 90 years of age.   Cause Influenza Pneumonia; 
          old age.  
          MArgaret died January 20, 1938 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at 89 years of age.

Mrs. Margaret Fields, 89, Is Called to Rest Here Thursday Mrs Margaret Fields, 
89, of 110 Lighthouse Court, widow of the late Louis Fields, passed away at 
11 a m Thursday at St Nicholas hospital after having been confined there for 
nearly two years. Mrs. Fields was born Sept 18, 1848, at Mishicot, Wis, the 
daughter of Mr and Mrs Matthew Hoffman. She attended the rural church school 
there and on July 16, 1866, was married to Louis Fields who at that time returned 
from the Civil War. The family resided in Mishicot until 1881 when they came to 
Sheboygan and have resided here since. Her husband preceded her in death on 
Feb 1, 1935. Mrs Fields was a member of Holy Name church. She enjoyed a large 
circle of frineds, possessed a pleasing personality and was admired for her keen 
sense of humor by all those who knew her and came in contact with her. She is 
survived by eight children: Mrs Emma Sprung of Sheboygan, Louis Fields of Sheboygan, 
John Fields of Milwaukee, Phillip Fields of Crown Point, Ind, Mrs. Margaret 
Siebenthal of Ammarilla, Tex, Mrs Katherine Murphy of Minneapolis, Mrs Elizabeth 
Haertl of Wauwatosa, and Mrs Harriet Braun of River Hills, Milwaukee. Nine 
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also 
survive. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 am at the Ballhorn Funeral 
temple and at 9 o'clock at the Holy Name church. Msgr Phillip Dreis will officiate 
and burial will be made in the family lot at Calvary cemetery. Friends may visit 
the body at the funeral temple from Saturday afternoon until the time of services.

         5  iv.    Phillip Fields was born in Mishicott, Wis. 1873.  Living 
                     in Crown Point, Ind. in 1938. Living in Renselier, Indiana 
                     in 1942. 
         6  v.     Maria Anna Fields was born in Mishicott, Wis. April 10, 1874.  
         7  vi.    Margarette Fields was born in Mishicott, Wis. October 17, 1876.  
                     She married Siebenthal.  
                     She married Tell.  Living in Amarilla, Texas in 1935 as Mrs. 
                     Siebethal. Living in Chicago, as Mrs. Siebenthal in 1938. 
                     Living in Las Vegas, Nev. as Mrs. Tell, in 1942 
         8  vii.   Katherine Fields was born in Mishicott, Wis. 1878.  
                     She married Murphy.  Living in Minneaplis in 1938 and 1942. 
         9  viii.  Elizabeth Fields was born in Mishicott, Wis. February 1880.  
                     She married Henry J. Haertl in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, December 
                     21, 1901.  Sheboygan Co. 
                     Henry was born in Wisconsin 1880.  
                     Living in Wauwatosa in 1938, 1942 and 1948.

        11  x.     Fredericka Fields was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin November

        12  xi.    Harriet Henrietta Fields was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin 
                     December 20, 1888.  Sheboygan Co. 
                     She married Frank Braun.  No marriage recorded in Milw. 
                     Co. 1900 - 1920                      
                     Frank was born May 22, 1888.  Frank died May 25, 1970 in 
                     Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at 82 years of age.  Living in River 
                     Hills, Milw. Co. in 1938, 1942 and 1948.  
        13  xii.   Vivian Fields was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin September 
                     1, 1897.   Not mentioned in her parent's obituaries in 1935 
                     and 1942.

      2.  EMma2 Fields (MArgaret1 Hoffmann) was born in Mishicott, Wis. March 18, 1867.  
            She married August F. Sprung in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, April 14, 1885. 
            August was born in Uckamark, Brandenburg Prov., Germany April 27, 1860.  
            He was the son of August Sprung.  August died March 16, 1942 in Sheboygan, 
            Wisconsin, at 81 years of age.  
	    EMma died May 4, 1942 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at 75 years of age. Buried in 
            Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan.

Mrs. Emma Sprung, 75, widow of the late August F. Sprung, passed away at 7:55 a.m. 
today, at the residence, 2313 N. Tenth Street, after a brief illness. She was born 
March 18, 1867, at Mishicot, Manitowoc County, the daughter of Louis and Margaret 
Fields, and attended district school there, and came to Sheboygan as a young girl. 
On April 11, 1885, she was married to August Sprung, and she always confined her 
activities to her home and family. Her husband preceded her in death March 16, 1942. 
Survivors are four children, Louis, Mrs. John (Emma) Hirt, Mrs. George (Lillian) 
Schloss, and Gustave, of Brunswick, Ohio; eight grandchildren and two great 
grandchildren; three brother, John of Milwaukee, Phillip of Renselier, Ind., and 
Louis of Sheboygan; four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Tell of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. 
Catherine Murphy of Minneapolis, Mrs. Henry Hertel  and Mrs. Frank Braun, of 
Milwuakee. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Ballhorn Funeral 
Chapels, the Rev. E.H. Wessler officiating, and burial will be made in the family 
lot in Wildwood cemetery. Friends may may call at the funeral chapel beginning 
Tuesday evening.

                      She married George Schloss.  Living in Sheboygan in 1942. 
         16  iii.   August C. Sprung was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin January 13, 1886.
                      August died June 6, 1888 in Sheboygan Co., Wis., at 2 years of 
                      age.  Died of measles. Buried in Wildwood. 
         17  iv.    Louis Sprung was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin 1886 ?.  
                      He married Helen Schloss in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, May 15, 1915.  
                      Helen was born in Selz, Russia January 27, 1896.  She was the 
                      daughter of William Schloss and Marie Sauder. Helen died March 8, 
                      1971 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at 75 years of age.

         18  v.     Oscar A. Sprung was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin December 30, 1888.  
                      Oscar died January 7, 1889 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at less than 
                      one year of age. 
         19  vi.    GUtave Sprung was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin December 23, 1889.  
                      He married Marie Minnie Chapman in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, January 
                      1, 1916.  
                      Marie was born in Canada 1897 ?.  She is the daughter of Walter 
                      Chapman and Emma Chapman.  
                      GUtave died December 23, 1968 in Brunswick, Ohio, at 79 years 
                      of age.

Gustav Sprung, a former Sheboygan resident, died Monday at his home in Brunswick, 
Ohio. He was born in Sheboygan Dec. 23, 1889, and while in Sheboygan, was employed 
as an auto mechanic. He also managed the baseball team sponsorred by Art Imig. His 
marriage to Minnie Chapman of Sheboygan Falls, took place on New Year's Day, 1916. 
They then moved to Cleveland Ohio. Surviving are his wife; three children, two 
grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. George Schloss, 2313 N. 10th. St. Funeral services 
will be held Wednesday in Brunswick.   Living in Brunswick, Ohio in 1942.
 
         20  vii.    Twins Sprung was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin July 19, 1893. Twins 
                       died July 19, 1893 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.  Buried in Wildwood 
                       Cemetery. 
         21  viii.   Arthur Sprung was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin October 27, 1905.  
                       Arthur died February 25, 1906 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

           He married Sophia F. Jacob in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, June 2, 1891. 
           Sophia was born in Wisconsin June 1869.  Living in Burlington, Racine Co. 
           in 1900. Living in West Allis in 1920. Living in Milwaukee in 1938 and 1948. 

         John Fields and Sophia F. Jacob had the following child:

     10.  Louis2 Fields (MArgaret1 Hoffmann) was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin 
            October 25, 1881.  Date comes from his obituary. 
            He married Elizabeth Jochem in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, May 18, 1901.  
            Elizabeth was born in Alsace Lorraine, Germany April 15, 1882.  She was 
            the daughter of Peter Jochem.  Elizabeth died February 25, 1966 in 
            Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at 83 years of age.

                     Pauline was born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin October 21, 1907.  
                     She was the daughter of Henry Trester and Ann Altenbach. Pauline 
                     died February 7, 1998 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, at 90 years of age.

Peter Fields, 82, a Sheboygan native whose military career spanned nearly 50 years 
and who was known locally for his military bearing as the mounted leader of many a 
parade, died at his home, 1720 Alexander Court, Monday afternoon after a long 
illness. Mr. Fields remained active in military organizations all his adult life, 
and was well-known for his activities on behalf of Boy Scouts organizations locally. 
He was born in Sheboygan on June 14, 1902, son of Louis and Elizabeth Jochim Fields, 
and attended local schools. Mr, Fields and the former Pauline Trester were married 
June 5, 1926, at Holy Name Catholic Church. He was a member of Holy Name parish, and 
was a lay distributor of the parish. He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Council 
722 Knights of Columbus, and a past Faithful Navigator of Msgr. Philipp Dreis Fourth 
Degree General Assembly K of C, and the current Honor Guard moderator. He was also a 
member of St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Apostolate of Suffering . Mr. Fields 
was a 1913 member of the Boys Brigade and in 1915, a founding member of Boy Scouts of 
America Troop 13. He was active in scouting for 50 years, serving as first scoutmaster 
of Troop 21 of Holy Name parish. Mr. Fields' military career began during World War I, 
when he served in Company H of the Wisconsin Home Guard. He later was a member of the 
Army National Guard of Wisconsin with Service Battery of 120th Field Artillery of the 
32nd. Division, serving three and a half years in the Pacific Theater, although due 
to his height of 5 feet 2 inches, he was very nearly rejected. In the cavalry for a 
number of years as a bugler with the 127th mounted engineers, and then with the field 
artillery, he was one of the few enlisted men to have a personal mount. From 1945 to 
1947, he served with the U.S. Army Reserves, later transferring to the Army National 
Guard as squadron commander of the local chapter, He was promoted from major to 
lieutenant colonel of the CAP last year in ceremonies at Chanute Air Force Base In 
Rantoul, Illinois. Mr. Fields was a member of Reserve Officers Association Chapter 35, 
past commander of the United Military Association, past commander of Amvets Post 18, 
past trustee of Veterans of Foreign Wars Sheboygan Memorial Post 9156, past commander 
of the Catholic War Veterans, and a member of the 32nd Division Veterans Association. 
He was also past state commander of Sons of the Union Veterans, and a member of the 
State Historical Society and the American Red Cross Instructors Association. Mr. Fields 
is survived by his wife; two sons, Roger and Thomas, and one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Mary) 
Radke, all of Sheboygan; eight grandchildren and three great grandchiIdren.He was 
preceded in death by a great-grandchild and one brother. The funeral Mass will be 
celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at Holy  Name Catholic Church. The Rev. James Hess, 
associate pastor, will be celebrant of the Mass, which will. be preceded by family 
rites at 10:30 a.m. at Gerend-Habermann Funeral Home. Burial will take place in 
Calvary Cemetery. 
			
						 
         24  ii.    Louis Fields was born in Sheboygan Co., Wis. January 2, 1904.  
                      He married Gertrude Goetsch in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, June 4, 1927.  
                      Gertrude was born in Sheboygan Co., Wis. May 22, 1908.  She was 
                      the daughter of Albert Goetsch and Emily Oldenburg.  Gertrude 
                      died March 1983 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at 74 years of age. 
                      Louis died April 1959 in Wisconsin, at 55 years of age.  Living in 
                      Milwaukee in 1948.
