EAST GIBSON
From "History of Manitowoc County" by Dr. Louis Falge, 1912 Vol. 1, pg. 335

Post Offices

Soon after its organization a postoffice waas established on section 11 and called East Gibson. The mails were received and distributed for many years by Samuel ROULLIER, who died in 1909 in Mishicot. The postoffice at Larrabee was conducted the the elder PELLETT for many years. He was the father of Jason PELLETT, Luther PELLET, Mrs. Benjamin BIRDSAL and Mrs. John BIRDSAL, all of them early in the township. A postoffice was established on section 32, and named in honor of Helumt ZANDER, and he was appointed postmaster. All these offices have been discontinued and replaced by rural mail deliveries with the exception of the Zander Postoffice.

Schools

The town has been well supplied with schools, which have compared very favorably with those of sister towns. The Zander school located on section 10, a half mile south of Zanderville, was perhaps the first school in the town. The school at Larrabee has been in existence since the early '50's, and the Jambo Creek school, in section 26 was early established. Besides these there are the East Gibson school in section 11, the Chase in section 5, Mott in section 18, and one located in section 29.

The names of three of the schools unnamed above are Chase School, Maple View School, and Kettle Range.
