Adam Daun
(Note: This obituary is for a son of Adam Daun) Henry J. Daun, 67, of 1928 Wisconsin Ave., New Holstein, died suddenly at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was born Sept. 24, 1892 in Marytown, the son of Adam and Catherine Roehrig Daun. He attended St. Mary's Parochial School and on April 23, 1914 he married Anna Karls of Marytown at St. Mary's Catholic Church there. He was a Jericho farmer all his life until he retired three years ago and moved to New Holstein. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein and the church's Holy Name Society. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Sylvester, Ervin, Alfred, LaVerne and Jerome, all of Chilton, and Severin of New Holstein; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Olga) Heus of Marytown and Mrs. Paul (Josine) Schreiner of Chilton; 25 grandchildren; three brothers, John of Fond du Lac, Joseph of Chilton and Richard of Green Bay; and one sister, Mrs. Edmund Turba of St. Anna. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, following family rites at 9 a.m. at the Erbe- Hoffmann Funeral Home. The Rev. Lambert Scanlan, pastor, will be cele- brant of the requiem Mass and burials will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery at Jericho. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 o'clock tonight until the time of services. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home 8 o'clock tonight and 8 p.m. Thursday. This person died young and it seems never married. He is buried at St. Charles Cemetery, Brotherton, Calumet County. His dates are Oct. 28, 1867-Dec. 11, 1890. His parents are buried in the same cemetery. Their dates are John Daun (July 26, 1841-Dec. 17, 1909) and Theresa Steiner (Sept. 8, 1848-Jan. 7, 1918). ****** At his home in the town of Brothertown, on Thursday, December 11, Albert Daun, aged 23 years, died. The deceased was a son of John Daun and was a young man full of life and vigor until a few short weeks ago when he was taken ill the typhoid-pneumonia which caused his death. He was an honest, upright, young man, and was highly respected in the community in which he lived. His death is a sad blow to his parents, brothers and sisters. The sympathy of the community is extended to them in their hour of grief. Wriedt ********* Death came to William Dedering, long time resident of Kiel, early Tuesday morning, just about a month before his 91st birthday. He was born in Ozaukee county March 3, 1867. He came to Manitowoc county with his family some years later. As a boy he had worked on the Great Lakes boats, but he stayed on land after his marriage to Caroline Radder December 12, 1891. Mrs. Dedering died in 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Dedering lived in Cedarburg for two years, where he worked in the nail factory. They also lived in Steinthal and School Hill when Mr. Dedering was employed in saw mills and as a painter. He purchased a farm in Schleswig township in 1904 and lived there until 1927 when he moved to Kiel. Mr. Dedering leaves five sons, Arthur, Edmund, and Armin, all of Kiel, and Henry and Arnold of the town of Schleswig: two daughters, Mrs. William Balz, Town Shleswig and Miss Adela Dedering, Kiel; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Fred, Town Schleswig. After he had moved to Kiel in 1927, Mr. Dedering served as custodian at St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church for many years. Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter's church Thursday afternoon at two o'clock. The Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg will officiate, and burial will be made in the Kiel cemetery. William Dedering (married Dec. 12, 1891 in Town of New Holstein) Daughter of Johann Joachim Friedrich Radder and Elizabeth Dorothea Joachine Boje ********* Mrs. William Dedering, 73, of 828 North 7th St., Kiel, died at her home this morning after an extended illness. She was the former Caroline Radder, daughter of the late John and Dorothea Radder, born in the town of Eaton on Feb. 4, 1871. On Dec. 12, 1891, she married William Dedering at New Holstein. The couple lived at Cedarburg one year and a few years at School Hill and Steinthal before moving to the town of Schleswig where they resided from 1904 to 1927. The last 17 years Kiel was her home. Mrs. Dedering was the mother of eight children, seven of whom survive with her husband, The children are Arthur, Edmund, Armin, Arnold and Adele, all of Kiel; Henry and Mrs. Laura Balz both of the town of Schleswig. There also are 18 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Dora Hanssen, of Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at St. Peters Evangelical and Reformed Church, the Rev. E. L. Worthman officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Kiel.
