He was born in Charlesburg, Calumet County, on Dec. 10, 1877, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Matt Franzen, pioneer settlers in the county. On Nov. 26, 1901, he was married at Charlesburg to Katherine Giebl. In Sept., 1927, they came to Sheboygan to make their home. He was employed at the Vollrath company for many years and later was an employe of the city street department. He was a member of St. Dominic s Catholic church. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Anton, Michael, Gregory, Sylvester and Clemens, all of Sheboygan; four daughters, Mrs. Leo (Marcelle) Debraske of Green Bay, Mrs. Ray (Lorraine) Pelchen, Mrs. Christ (Josephine) Eirich, and Mrs. Edward (Imelda) Chrispens, all of Sheboygan; 24 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Retterath of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Clara Mueller of Chilton. He was preceded in death by a son, Conrad; one sister and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at St. Dominic s church following brief rites at Gerend's Funeral home. Mrs. Wriedt, aged 74, nee Magdalena Fischer, was born
in the town of Rhine, Sheboygan county April 25, 1860.
She was married to Jacob Frick of Plymouth and the
couple resided on a farm about two and one-half miles
west of Plymouth. To this union six children were born
of whom four passed away in their youth. Mr. Frick
passed away in 1900.
On January 27, 1914 the deceased was married to Henry
Wriedt and the couple have resided here ever since with
the exception of five years when they lived on a farm
near here.
Survivors are her husband, two sons, Hartmann Frick of
Milwaukee and Arno Frick of Sheboygan; two grandchildren,
Melvin and Marcella Frick of Milwaukee; and one brother,
John Fischer of Milwaukee. Nine step-children also
survive, namely: Mrs. Edward Arnold of here, Mrs. Otto
Ninmer, Schleswig; Mrs. Edwin Ninmer, Schleswig; Mrs.
Benjamin Strassmann, Jacksonport; Mrs. George Ninmer,
Schleswig; Mrs. Ralph Mangum, Ashville, N.C.; Mrs. Elmer
Ninmer, Schleswig; William Wriedt, Tisch Mills; and
August Wriedt, town of Liberty.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30
from the family residence, St. Paul Street, and at two
o'clock with services at the St. Peter Reformed church.
The Rev. E.L. Worthman will officiate and burial will
be made in the Plymouth city cemetery, beside her first
husband, the late Mr. Frick.
