Death claimed Mrs. Nic. Jandy(sic) on Monday morning at 2 o'clock,
at her home on the corner of Seventh street and Calumet avenue,
after an illness of eight months of cancer of the stomcah. The
deceased, nee Elizabeth LaCroix, was born near St. Anna, July 1,
1859, and was married in 1884 to Nic. Jandy. The couple lived on
a farm near St. Anna until a month ago, when the family moved to
take up their residence in Kiel. She is survived by her husband,
and three children, namely; Henry on the farm near St. Anna,
Hilda and Mary at home; four sisters: Mrs. Wm. Diedrich of Chilton,
Mrs. Jos. Brill of Ripon, Mrs. Henry Stemper and Mrs. John Turba
of St. Anna. The funeral took place on Wednesday morning from St.
Ann's church. Rev. Schmitt officiating. Burial in the adjoining
cemetery.

Nicholas Janty Sr. Passes Away; Rites on Friday. Kiel. –
Nicholas Janty, Sr., passed away this morning at the St. Nicholas hospital in
Sheboygan. Born in St. Anna, town of Russell, on March 5, 1863, the son of
Nicholas and Catherine Janty, he was married to Elizabeth LaCroix and settled
on the LaCroix farm in town Russell. Twenty-five years ago he sold his farm
to his son, Henry, and moved to Kiel to make his home. His wife passed away
on July 7, 1919, and since that time he has made his home with his children.
Survivors are three children, Henry of town Russell, Mrs. Walter Jensen of
Rockfield, Calif., and Mrs. J.R. McInerny of St. Anna; a brother, Victor, of
town Russell; a sister, Mrs. Eugene Perl, of Kiel, and four grandchildren. He
was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Ann’s Catholic church. Funeral
services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the home of his son, Henry, in
Town Russell and at 10 o’clock at St. Ann’s church, the Rev. Clement P. Kern
officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. Friends may call
at the farm home of Henry Janty from Wednesday evening until the time of the
services

Rev. William Rech, of the German Reformed church of Kiel, officiating. Mrs. Jaschob died suddenly last week Thursday from a paralytic stroke at the age of 50 years in her home near Millhome. The deceased is survived by her husband and eight children, Mrs. Emil Fischer, of this city, Mrs. Calvin Arpke, of Franklin, Misses Anita and Vera, and Edward, William, and Edgar, all at home. One sister, Mrs. August Jaschob, of Kiel, and two brothers, Frank Pasch, Canada, and Carl Pasch, Germany, also survive. Mr. Jaschob died Saturday at the Calvin Arpke home in Franklin. Born September 30, 1862 in Germany, he came to this country when he was 21. He married Miss Mary Pasch and they lived on a farm in Rhine township. Mrs. Jaschob died in 1916. He moved to Kiel in 1917. For the past 11 years he had lived with the Arpke family. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Emil Fischer, Sheboygan; Mrs. Calvin Arpke, Franklin; Mrs. Martin Mahloch, Kiel; three sons, Edward, Millhome; William, Kiel, and Alvin, Sheboygan; 17 grand- children, and 24 great-grandchildren. (No newspaper named, May 38, 1954 handwritten on the obituary) (Note: Both Mary and Herman are in the Kiel cemetery..according to her tombstone, she died at age 50, so there is either a typo in her obit. or a mistake in the newspaper)
