At the home of his daughter on Tuesday evening,
Dec. 18, John August Jochmann, aged 
84 years 4 months and 17 days. 
The deceased was born in Germany Aug. 1, 1822. 
He came to America in 1867 and located in Kiel where 
he resided until 1889, with the exception of two years 
spent in Missouri. Since leaving Kiel he made his home 
with his daughter, Mrs. Emil Jensen. Some four weeks ago 
he was taken ill and failed rapidly until death came. He 
was a companionable old gentleman and always had a 
pleasant word for those who knew him. He leaves two 
daughters, one brother and two sisters to mourn his death. 
The funeral took place Friday afternoon at one 
o clock from the Ebenezer Reformed church. Rev. W. A. 
Arpke conducting services.

(Note: I was at the Sheboygan court house and was able to double 
check the death record for William Jochmann. The death record 
does show Dec. 10, 1849 as the birth date and June 3, 1919 as 
the death date.
The person in the photo does not look to be about 40 years old. 
There is likely a second William Jochmann who is younger.)

FRANZ "FRANK" JOHST


Franz Johst

Frank J. Johst, 60, passed away Friday afternoon at Memorial Hospital
after an illness.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., on May 3, 1878, the son of Frank and
Catherine Johst. For a time he resided in Rhine Center and Kiel and
his marriage to Miss Olga Engel was solemnized at St. Francis parish
in Milwaukee on September 26, 1917. He received his education at the
St. John's School for the Deaf in St. Francis, Wis., and for the past
five years was employed at the Larson Plywood Co. until his retirement
last year.
He was a faithful member of St. Dominic's parish.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Ludwig, and a daughter, Mrs. Rose
Felsinger, Sheboygan; a brother, John Johst, Kiel, and a sister, Mrs.
Katie Franzel in Montana, also survive.
Funeral services are tentatively planned for Tuesday morning. Friends
may call at Gerend's Funeral home from 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon until
time of services.
