Henry was born June 30, 1871 and married Emma Ott. Their only child was an adopted son named Clarence. Frederick's father, Christian Koeppen, was married twice. His first wife was Maria Prueder. She was the mother to both Frederick and Henry. When Maria died, Christian re-married to Wihlemina Wesener. With Wilhelmina, Christian had two children. Cause of her death was given as diabetes. The deceased was born Feb. 10, 1870, in the town of Schleswig, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Quante. In 1899 she was married to Fred Koeppen, the couple locating on the farm where they have since resided. To the union five children were born: Alfred and Henry at home, Edgar at Tacoma, Wash., Fred at St. Nazianz, and Mrs. Reinhold (flaw in paper) at Manitowoc. Besides her husband, she is also survived by a sister, Mrs. August Roehl of Schleswig, and by three brothers, August and Rudolph Quante of Schleswig, and Henry Quante of Bellingham, Wash. Funeral services were held this Wednesday from the home, and at the Zion Lutheran church at Louis Corners at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Harold O. Grunwald performing the last rites.
