Between 1888-1894 John Lorge operated a jewelry store at Fremont Street, Kiel.

This is an obituary for his brother..he is mentioned at the end.

Apparently recovering from a two week's illness of pneumonia, August Lorge,
79, passed away Monday evening of this week at 11 o'clock at the home of his
sister, Mrs. Michael Wagner, where he had been visiting for the past three
months.
The deceased was born in Port Washington August 28, 1854. He was united in
marriage to Miss Louise Franson on New Holstein in February, 1892, the
couple living here for about six years. At the time Mr. Lorge was employed
at the Kiel Furniture Co. factory. From here they moved to Fond du Lac,
where they made their home for many years. In recent years they made their
home at Oshkosh.
Surviving are his wife and one son, Jack, of Oshkosh, two grandchildren,
two sisters, Mrs. Wagner of here and Mrs. Lucy Jacobs of Chicago; and two
brothers, Nicholas of Plymouth and John of Milwaukee.
