Mrs. Buettner, Aged 74, Dies
Was Resident of Meggers Since Marriage 51 Years Ago
With services conducted at the Turner Hall at New Holstein on Tuesday 
by the Rev. A. George Schmid of that city, Mrs. Henry D. Buettner, for
41 years a resident of Meggers, was laid to rest in the cemetery at New
Holstein. The deceased had reached the advanced age of 74 years.
Mrs. Buettner, nee Katherine Mathilda Magda Rothfolk, passed away at 
her home Saturday, Dec. 26, at 3:15 a.m. Her exact age at death was 74
years, five months and three days.
She was born July 23, 1857, in Schleswig Holstein, Germany. At the age
of 8 years, she came to this country with her parents. On July 26, 1880,
she was united in marriage to Henry D. Buettner, the couple having lived 
the entire time at the store and saloon, now conducted by their son
Christian. Six children were born to the couple, as follows: Mrs. Charles
(Emma) Temke of near Meggers, John of New Holstein, Mrs. Emil (Meta)
Weber of near here, Mrs. Carl (Minnie) Paulsen of Chilton, Mrs. Eugene
(Lilly) Scott of Plymouth, and one son who died in his infancy. Surviving
children by Mr. Buettner's first marriage are: Christian and Gretchen at
home, Mrs. Jacob (Anna) Raquet of near Kiel, Mrs. Rudolph (Ida) Roeh of
near Beaver; and two sons who died in infancy. Nine grandchildren and 
four great grandchildren also survive. 
Her passing is mourned by the following brothers and sisters: Peter
Rothfolk of Holstein, Iowa; Herman Rothfolk of MacHenry, N.D.; William
and John Rothfolk and Mrs. Herman Duecker of New Holstein; and Mrs. 
William Bennin of West Bend.
The couple observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary on July 26, 1930,
at which time fitting ceremonies were held at the Buettner hall at
Meggers.

Hold Services on Monday for G. Rothmann
Death Occurred Thursday Following Period of Illness
Death claimed George Rothmann, aged 65, at his home at 815 Seventh street,
on Thursday morning at 10:45 o'clock, after a brief illness with heart
disease. The cause of his death was a stroke of apoplexy.
The deceased, a son of the late William and Amelia Rothmann, nee Hackenschmdt,
was born in Garnet, Wisconsin, Fond du Lac county on June 3, 1865, where he
had grown to manhood. At the age of 19 years he learned the blacksmith trade
at the F.O. Horneck blacksmith shop in the town of Rhine, where he remained
for 7 years.
On September 27, 1891, he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Dexheimer
of the town of Rhine. Immediately after their marriage they located in Kiel,
where Mr. Rothmann opened a blacksmith shop of his own on Fremont street,
and two years later he erected a new blacksmith shop on the site of the 
present Stoll and Boeselager Co. garage, and he conducted the trade until 
1912, when he sold it to J.G.W. Loos. Mr. Rothmann, then had a residence
erected on Seventh street, where they have since resided. For the past 
several years he has been in the employ of the Stoelting Brothers Co.
No children were born to them. He is survived by his wife, and two brothers,
Edward of Garnet, and Philip of Exeland. Two sisters preceded him in death:
Mrs. Jacob Reiss of Garnet, who died in April 16, 1893, and Mrs. Nicholas
Balz of Kiel, who died July 8, 1929. Several sisters and brothers who also
died in their youth. He was a member of the Kiel Red Men lodge, and a member
of the Kiel Fire Department, which organizations will attend the funeral in
a body.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the residence.
The Rev. E.L. Worthman, pastor of the St. Peter Reformed church officiated
at the last rites. Interment was in the Kiel cemetery in the family lot.

and Mrs. and Mrs. Joseph Gerlach of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Dexheimer
of Sherwood; Mr. and Mrs. William Dexheimer, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Dexheimer,
Mrs. Paul Schmidt and George Dexheimer of Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Henry 
Platz, Mr. and Mrs. George Dexheimer, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Simonsmeier
