Herman Schulz and Meta Vietmeyer (v.6 p.235) March 11, 1894 in religious ceremony, Town of Schleswig Herman Schulz Father noted as “dead”, mother Friedericka Paul Born Town of Scheswig –farmer Meta Vietmeyer Daughter of Heinrich Vietmeyer, with mother noted as “dead” Born Town of Schleswig ********* Former Local Resident Passes Away On Tuesday After an illness of several months, Herman Schulz, a former resident of the town of Schleswig and Kiel, died at his home in Milwaukee Tuesday of this week. He had reached the age of 73 years and 4 months. He was born in the town of Schleswig on Dec. 14, 1863. He operated the tavern at Rockville for a time, and also lived for a short time in Kiel. Since 1911 he lived in Milwaukee. He was married in 1893 to the former Miss Meta Vietmeyer, who survives him together with two sons and a daughter in Milwaukee and a son in California. Surviving relatives in Kiel are a brother, William Schulz and four sisters: Mrs. Ludwig Sievert, Mrs. Herman Steinberg, Mrs. Henry Spettel, and Mrs. William Reichert. Funeral services will be held this Friday afternoon, with interment in the Wanderer's Rest cemetery, Milwaukee. Death suddenly claimed Mrs. Friederike Regina Schulz on Monday morning at 6:30, heart failure being the cause of her demise after about one year’s illness. The deceased, nee Paul, who was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Reichert in this city, was born in Bandelow, near Prenzlau, Pommerania, Germany, April 2nd 1839, and came to America in 1856 with her parents, who settled in the town of Schleswig. In 1860 she was married to Otto Schulz and the couple made their home on a farm in the town of Schleswig. Her husband died in 1875. She is survived by six children: two sons, Herman in Milwaukee and William in Kiel, and four daughters, Mrs. Friederike Sievert, Mrs. Emilie Spettel, Mrs. Louise Steinberg and Mrs. Wm. Reichert, all of Kiel. Also 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon at 1:30, from the Reichert home, with interment in the cemetery on the Ucker road, after services in the Louis Corners church, conducted by Rev. W. Kuether. - Oct. 1921
