GEORGE WAGNER DIES AT HOME NEAR CHILTON CITY
Chilton—George Wagner, 68, died early Friday morning at his 
home, about one-half mile east of this city, following a day’s 
illness with pneumonia.  He was born in the town of Liberty, 
Manitowoc County and was married to Miss Bertha Nass about 40 
years age.  The widow and a son, Postmaster James Wagner of 
this city, and five grandchildren survive him. 
Funeral arrangements had not been made Friday morning, but it 
is probable that the services will be held Monday.

Mrs. George Wagner, 88, a former resident of Chilton, died late 
Friday morning at the Wilhelmina Victoria Rest Home in Waldo 
after an illness of four years.  Nee Bertha Nast (sic), she was 
born Oct. 12, 1866, in Germany, a daughter of the late Mr. and 
Mrs. Carl Nast.  She came to the United States with her parents 
as a young girl. Following her marriage, Mrs. Wagner resided in 
the Town of Charlestown and at Chilton where her husband practiced 
the carpentry trade.  He died in 1928.  The couple’s only son, 
James H. Wagner, died in 1951.  Mrs. Wagner made her home at the 
rest home in Waldo since she was stricken with illness four years 
ago.  
Survivors are four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and 
a brother, Fred Nast, and a sister, Mrs. Tillie Anderson, both of 
Fond du Lac.  Another brother, Charles Nast, died in 1954.  
Funeral services will be held Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral home, 
Chilton, with the Rev. Orval Egbert, pastor of Ebenezer Evangelical 
and Reformed Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Hillside 
cemetery at Chilton.
