Winter, 82, a veteran of the Civil war, died at his home here Thursday after having been in ill health for some time. He was born in Milwaukee on June 22, 1843 and was married to Miss Anna Rosa Hillert on Nov. 20, 1867. She died thirty years ago. His second wife, Miss Ricka Wilk, survives him. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Louis Witt and Mrs. Carl Schultz of Milwaukee, and four sons, the Rev. Charles Winter of North Prairie, Henry Winter of Granton, Fred Winter of the town of Sherman and Ed Winter, whose whereabouts are unknown. Mr. Winter formerly lived on a farm near Random Lake, but during the past fifteen years he made his home at Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. Monday from the home and at 1:30 p. m. from St. John's Lutheran church. The Rev. Martin Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in the town of Sherman. Sheboygan Press, March 5, 1926
