BOLDY PECH Funeral services for Boleslav (Boldy) Pech, 53, of Francis Creek, who died Friday, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville. The Rev. Joseph Rauch will officiate and burial will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek. He was born in Kossuth in 1893 and in 1916 married Miss Della Peroutka. The couple operated a cheese factory in Mishicot for three years and 30 years ago moved to Francis Creek, where Mr. Pech became a cheese grader for the Pauly Cheese Company. Mr. Pech was active in musical circles and played in several bands and orchestras in the county. Survivors are his wife; son Quentin of Manitowoc; three brothers, Joseph and Robert of Kossuth, Albin of Manitowoc; and two grandchildren. ANNA PEROUTKA Mrs. Ann Peroutka, 84, of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, died Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a long illness. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 11 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, the Rev. John Haen celebrant at the solemn requiem Mass. Mrs. Peroutka, nee Ann Sladky, was born Oct. 8, 1881, in the Town of Kossuth, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Anna Krall Sladky. She was married to Joseph Peroutka June 17, 1902, at Kellnersville and the couple settled on the Peroutka homestead farm. Following her husband’s death in 1943, Mrs. Peroutka lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Peroutka, on the homestead farm. Mrs. Peroutka was a member of the Christian Mothers Altar Society of St. Ann Church. She is survived by a son, Edwin; a brother, Edward Sladky of Francis Creek; a daughter, Mrs. Emil (Ella) Popelars of Rt. 1, Whitelaw; a sister, Mrs. Emma Shupita of Manitowoc; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. JOSEPH PEROUTKA Joseph Peroutka, 67, retired town of Kossuth farmer, died Wednesday at his home after an illness of one year. They operated their farm in Kossuth until two years ago when they retired and operation was taken over by their son, Edwin. On June 1, 1927, she married Louis Peroutka at Milwaukee. The couple moved to Francis Creek and owned and operated Peroutka’s Tavern in Francis Creek until 1983. Mabel also worked as a nurses aide at the Maple Crest Sanitarium for seven years, retiring in 1973. She is a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, St. Anne Christian Mothers and a former member of the Daughters of Isabella. On June 5, 1929, Mayme was married to John "Jack" Peroutka at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. Jack preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1987. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek and the Francis Creek-Rockwood Senior Citizens. WESLEY R. PFEFFERKORN Wesly R. Pfefferkorn, age 84, of 3817 County Hwy. V, town of Kossuth, entered into eternal life on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, in Manitowoc. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek, with the Rev. Wesley was born April 9, 1920 in Mishicot, to the late Herman and Elizabeth Bruhn Pfefferkorn, and has been a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School graduating with the class of 1938. He married the former Lucille Filliez on Aug. 22, 1942 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot, and she preceded him in death on March 12, 2002. Mr. Pfefferkorn was employed for many years as a sales agent for the Standard Oil Company, retiring in 1977. He also owned and operated a hobby farm, which gave him much enjoyment. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Francis Creek, and a lifetime member of the Mishicot High School Alumni Association. REV. ANDREA PROCHAZKA Kossuth news: Rev. Andrew Prochaska, who has been the pastor of the local church for the last five years passed away at the Holy Family Hospital Friday afternoon at the age of 50?60? years. Prochazka had been ill since Saturday and pneumonia developed. The deceased was about 50 years of age and had been pastor at Francis Creek church for the past six years. LOUISA RANK Mrs. Peter Rank, 69, lifelong resident of the county, died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday morning at the farm home in Kossuth, now operated by her son Edward. Funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Rank homestead and at 9:30 at the St. Ann Catholic church, Francis Creek, the Rev. Joseph Rauch officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Rank, nee Louisa Oswald, was born in Franklin in 1875 and in 1898 was married to Peter Rank. They located on the present farm in Kossuth. Mr. Rank died 30 years ago. Mrs. Rank was a member of the Altar society of the St. Ann congregation, whose members will recite the rosary at the Rank home at 8 o’clock Wednesday evening. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Louis Hessel of Francis Creek; two sons, Frank of this city, Edward on the home farm; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Cisler of Reedsville, Mrs. Joseph Kirt of this city; three brothers, Joseph of Rice Lake, Frank of Kossuth, George of this city, and 12 grandchildren. PETER RANK (d. 1910) OLD PIONEER DEAD Peter Rank, one of the pioneer settlers of Francis Creek, died Monday after an illness of several months, from disease which he had been a sufferer for three years, aged 77. Mr. Rank is survived by an aged widow and a family of eight children. Also four brothers and one sister, Frank and Jacob of Brillion, John of Sturgeon Bay, Louis of Manitowoc and Mrs. Maggie Framm of Iowa. He was born in 1833 and came to Manitowoc county while yet a young man and engaged in farming. Decedent leaves to mourn his demise two brothers and three sisters being Louis, Francis Creek; Joseph, Regent, N.D.; Mrs. Joseph Uhlir, this city; Mrs. Anna Katzenmeyer, Silverton, Ore.; Mrs. Theresa Uhlir of Milwaukee. VANNA RANK Mrs. Anna Rank, aged 87 years died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Barbara Uhlir, 2417 Liberty Place, this city, October 12. The deceased was born in Germany and came to this country at the age of 16, coming direct to this county where she was married shortly after her arrival. Mr. and Mrs. Rank settled on a farm near Francis Creek where she has since made her home until a week before her death when she left to spend a short time with her daughter, at whose home she passed away. Her husband preceded her in death sixteen years ago. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Anna Schmidt of Oregon, Mrs. Teresa Uhlir of Milwaukee and Mrs. Barbara Uhlir of this city and two sons, Joseph of Minnesota and Louis of Francis Creek and a brother, Steen Feibel of Kewaunee. RONALD H. REIF Ronald H. Reif, age 58, of 11828 Parkway Road, rural Two Rivers, died early Monday morning, September 28, 2015 at his residence following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ronald was born on October 9, 1956 in Manitowoc, son of the late Robert H. and LaVerne M. (Rossi) Reif Sr. He was a 1975 graduate of Mishicot High School. On June 12, 1976, Ronald was married to Debra J. Kluck in Manitowoc. He worked for Manitowoc Engineering retiring due to illness. Ron enjoyed doing carpentry projects and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses, Two Rivers Congregation. Survivors include his wife: Debra Reif, rural Two Rivers; his five children: Jason Reif, Appleton; Pamela (David) Lane, Whitelaw; Tracy (Todd Hymes) Reif-Hymes, Francis Creek; Travis Reif, rural Two Rivers; Kristopher Reif, rural Two Rivers; seven grandchildren: Sydney; Ethan; Cheyenne; Savanna; Shawn; Tyler; Carter; one uncle: Edwin Reif, Francis Creek; two aunts: Florence Kubsch, Two Rivers; Arlette Rozanski, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Elaine (Steve) Babich, CA; Gary Norden, Manitowoc; Denise Kluck, Two Rivers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. JOHN REINDL John E. Reindl, 88, of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, died Sunday morning at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. John Haen will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mr. Reindl was born Sept. 27, 1885, at Kellnersville, son of the late Joseph and Mary Mazanec Reindl. He married Julia Preston June 12, 1912, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The couple farmed at Antigo for more than 20 years and then farmed near Whitelaw. The past 30 years they have resided in the Town of Mishicot, Rt. 2, Two Rivers. Mr. and Mrs. Reindl observed their 60th wedding anniversary in 1972. Survivors include his wife, a son, Norman, of Chicago; two daughters, Mrs. Roland (Lucille) Ranz, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Clement (Marian) Doolan, of Francis Creek; a brother, Anton, of Manitowoc; 26 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. JULIA REINDL Mrs. Julia Reindl, 90, formerly of Route 2, Two Rivers, died Thursday evening, November (unreadable sentences) Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. James Massart will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Reindl, nee Julia Preston, was born Dec. 23, 1889, in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Swagle Preston. She was married to John Reindl June 12, 1912, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The couple farmed at Antigo for more than 20 years and for 30 years resided in the Town of Mishicot, Route 2, Two Rivers. Mrs. Reindl had been employed with Mirro Corporation, Two Rivers, for many years. Her husband preceded her in death, Oct. 14, 1973. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Roland (Lucille) Franz of Invernes, Fla., and Mrs. Clement (Marian) Doolan of Francis Creek, 26 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. ARTHUR E. REMIKER Killed in Philippines Mr. and Mrs. Louis Remiker, route 2, Two Rivers, parents of Pvt. Remiker, learned from the adjutant general's office last night that their son had been killed May 22 in his first major campaign on Mindanao in the Philippines. A confirming letter will follow, the message said. An infantryman in the 24th Victory division, Pvt. Remiker was drafted Nov. 27, 1944, and sent to Camp Joseph T. Robinson in Arkansas for 17 weeks of basic training. He came home on furlough April 2 and then went to Fort Ord., Calif, from where he embarked for the Philippines. Pvt. Remiker was born in the town of Franklin on Feb. 14, 1925. After attending St. Ann's parochial school at Francis Creek he assisted his father with work on the farm and then entered the employ of the Oriental Milling company. He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Evelyn and Dolores, one brother, Louis Jr. and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna Fogeltanz. A requiem high mass in his memory will be sung at 8 o'clock Tuesday morning by the Rev. Joseph Rauch at St. Ann's church, Francis Creek. Manitowoc Herald Times, Saturday, June 9, 1945
