Bohne came in contact with 132,000 volts of electricity while engaged in making repairs on the phone lines at School Hill and although rendered unconscious for half an hour was revived and will live. Mr. Bohne, 64 years old, was working on a telephone pole between wires of the High Falls Power company line at School Hill when a staple puller he was using came in contact at the same time with a telephone wire, the high voltage electric line wire and his ear. Fred Bohne, a brother of Herman was helping him when he suffered the shock. Fred was standing at the foot of the pole and Herman Bohne was up at the top. He had protected himself by fastening a belt around himself and the pole and this act undoubtedly saved his life. If he had fallen to the ground, he likely would have been killed. HILDEGARDE HENSCHEL Rural Newton Woman Dies In Accident A rural Newton woman was killed and four others were injured late Sunday night in a two-car crash at a town road crossing in Manitowoc County. Mrs. Hildegarde Henschel, 49, of R. 1, Newton, was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Nicholas Hospital shortly before midnight. Injured were Mrs. Henschel's husband, Herbert, 55; Wilbert P. Adams, 36, of R. 1, Elkhart Lake, and Wayne Breckheimer, 19, and Eugene Schwartz, 26, both of R. 2, Kiel. It was Manitowoc County's second traffic fatality of the weekend. Charles F. Gibbons, 23, of Grand Rapids, Mich., a University of Wisconsin graduate student in entomology, was killed early Saturday on the Sandy Bay Rd., a mile north of Two Rivers. Raises Toll To 17 The two deaths raised Manitowoc County's 1960 traffic toll to 17, seven more than were recorded during the entire 12-month period of 1959. The accident involving cars driven by Mr. Henschel and Adams occurred at 11:27 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of County Trunk Highways A and X, four miles south of St. Nazianz. The accident scene is about four miles north of the Sheboygan-Manitowoc county line. Traffic police reported that Henschel's car, southbound on A, was struck broadside when it turned left onto County Trunk X into the path of Adams' northbound auto. The two cars were hurled into a ditch at the northeast corner of the intersection. Officers said both were "completely demolished." The injured were taken to St. Nicholas Hospital in ambulances from Kiel and Manitowoc. Mrs. Henschel died en route to the hospital. Dr. Reed M. Simpson, Sheboygan County coroner, attributed her death to a crushed skull. Her husband, driver of the car, suffered abdominal bruises and a back injury. Hospital attendants described his condition today as "fair." Also in fair condition were Breckheimer, with a fractured right arm and scalp abrasions, and Schwartz, with a possible fracture of the right hip and a lacerated right arm. Adams was not hospitalized. He was treated at a physician's office in Kiel for chest abrasions and a laceration of the upper lip. Dr. Theodore Teitgen, Manitowoc County coroner, ordered an inquest into the death. No date was set, pending the release of the injured from the hospital. Mrs. Henschel, the former Hildegarde Christel, was born May 17, 1911, at St. Nazianz, a daughter of Albert and Philomena (Minnie) Kaltenbrun Christel. She was married to Herbert Henschel at St. Gregory's Catholic Church parsonage at St. Nazianz on April 25, 1931.
