DARLENE D. GABEL Darlene D. Gabel, age 78, of 2401 Polk St. Two Rivers, died on Sunday night, Aug. 22, 2010, at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Darlene was born on Feb. 21, 1932, in Joliet, Ill. to the late William and Luella (Balstrode) Reece. She attended schools in Joliet, graduating from Joliet Township High School with the class of 1950. On Oct. 25, 1953, she married Ronald T. "Gabe" Gabel in Joliet, Ill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1999. Darlene worked for a number of years at Barrett's Hardware, St. Joseph's Hospital and Silver Cross Hospital, all in Illinois; and after moving to Wisconsin worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Memorial Hospital and Park Lawn Nursing Home of Manitowoc, and the Wisteria Haus in Two Rivers until her retirement. Darlene was past Honored Queen of Jobe's Daughters Bethel No. 48; she was a member of King's Daughters, Order of the Eastern Star, the Two Rivers Senior Center, and served on the Aging Resource Board. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, photography, and camping with family & friends. Above all, Darlene had a great love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and THE BEARS! ALBERT GAGNON Albert Gagnon, of 1515 E. Street, Two Rivers, died Monday afternoon, July 7, 1986 at Two Rivers Community Hospital. Mr. Gagnon was born at Beaver Island, Michigan, son of the late George and Laura Boisvert Gagnon. He attended schools in Michigan and came to Two Rivers in 1923. Mr. Gagnon was employed at Hamilton Industries as a foreman in the steel plant from 1942 until his retirement in 1972. He married the former Frances Glesner in Michigan. Alice and her husband Herman owned and operated Ace Net Company of Two Rivers until her retirement in 1970 at which time she sold the business to her son. Joe served in Ordnance Division of the U.S. Army from January 1942 to December 1945. On May 10, 1947, he married the former Rose M. Marek at St. Luke Church, Two Rivers. Joe was employed at Kelvinator Commercial Products, Manitowoc, for 33 years, retiring in 1982. He served on the Two Rivers City Council from 1967 to 1978 and was a county board supervisor from 1978 to 1992. Joe was a member of the International Association of Machinists #2064, American Legion Post #165 of Two Rivers, the Catholic Knights Branch #15 and the Two Rivers Senior Citizens. Mr. Gagnon was born March 31, 1899, at Sheboygan, a son of the late former School Commissioner Thomas and Albertina Schultz Gagnon. When he was 10 years old, the family brought him to Two Rivers, where he attended public grade schools. He married the former Catherine Taddy at St. Luke Church May 7, 1919. He was employed for many years as crib clerk in the machine shop of Mirro Aluminum Co. Mr. Gagnon was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Luke Church, Mirro Aluminum Co. 25-Year Club, and Izaak Walton League. Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Juul of Two Rivers; three sons, Robert and Donald of Two Rivers and Le Roy, of Neenah; a sister, Mrs. Raymond Gibeault of Milwaukee; a brother, Thomas of Two Rivers, and 16 grandchildren. Gagnon was at work, while the rolls were moving, wiping off the oil and is said to have leaned on the rolls. His arm was drawn in and the elbow completely crushed. THOMAS LEE GAGNON Thomas Lee Gagnon, age 50, of 2502 - 34th St. Two Rivers, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011 at his residence. Tom was born July 28, 1961 in Two Rivers to Carol (Zimmer) Gagnon and the late Robert J. Gagnon. He attended Two Rivers Public Schools and was a 1979 graduate of Washington High School. He also attended LTC and the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Tom joined the U.S. Air Force in Dec. 1988 where he served in the materials and local purchase office until honorably discharged in August 1993. Tom later earned a degree from Fox Valley Technical College in Oshkosh in the A & P Mechanics Program to become a mechanic and inspector for the airline industry. He worked in various states for several airlines, including United, WI Air, and Mesa Airlines. Tom was a proud platelet/blood donor for the Red Cross of Green Bay; he enjoyed fishing, biking, riding his motorcycle, music, reading, the outdoors, and loved animals. Tom had an amazing memory for facts and pop culture; he often would inject lines from movies and songs into his conversations. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. Survivors include his mother, Carol Gagnon, Two Rivers; one brother, Jim Gagnon, Two Rivers; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Joey Toonen, Appleton, Lisa and Randy Tiedt, Lori and Shawn Conley, all of Madison. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews: Mikayla and Alex Toonen, Myckie Gagnon, Maddi and Emerson Tiedt, and Haila Conley; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Gagnon; two brothers, David and Ricky Gagnon; and grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Zimmer and Mr. and Mrs. George Gagnon. URBAN GAGNON URBAN GAGNON, 48, WELL KNOWN FISHERMAN DIES SUDDENLY HEART ATTACK FATAL ON TRIP TO BAYFIELD Enroute With Partner To Sell Tug Gust, When He Is Taken Ill Death's summons came suddenly to Urban Gagnon, 48, well known Two Rivers fisherman, who was stricken with a heart attack while en route on a motor trip with his partners, to dispose of their first tug Henry Gust, to Bayfield, Wis. parties. Telephone messages received here this morning advised that Mr. Gagnon had died a few hours before in Washburn hospital. The deceased had left here by motor with his partners Capt. John L. Monka and Frank Monka. They were nearing their destination when Mr. Gagnon suffered the heart attack and was rushed to the hospital where he died later. Funeral services will be held at St. Lukes church here next Tuesday morning with interment at Holy Cross cemetery. The remains are expected to arrive here from the north tonight. Of Pioneer Family Mr. Gagnon was a pioneer resident of Two Rivers. His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gagnon removed here from Canada when Two Rivers was but a small fishing and logging village and settled on the "east side." His father also followed the fishing trade. When the elder Gagnon passed away some forty years ago Urban Gagnon took up the fishing business and when a young man formed a partnership with Henry LaFond of the LaFond Fish Co. who now operate the tug Faithful. For seventeen years past the deceased has been associated with John L. and Frank Monka in the firm of Monka Bros. and Gagnon, who operated the steam tug Henry Gust from a berth in the West Twin river just west of the Washington street bridge. Twenty-seven years ago, Mr. Gagnon was married to Julia Monka, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Franz Monka, pioneers of the county. Besides his widow he leaves two sons, Martin and Herman Gagnon both of this city. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. David LeClair, of this city, Mrs. Jacob Geimer, town of Two Rivers, and Mrs. William Taddy, of this city, and two brothers, Joseph Gagnon, town of Branch, and Edward Gagnon, of East Blackstone, Mass. There are also three grandchildren. Had Retired from Business Following the action of the state in enforcing the two and five-eighths inch mesh law, the firm of Monka Bros. and Gagnon retired from the fishing industry. Only a week ago they found a purchaser for their tug Henry Gust and their equipment, and the trio yesterday had left for Bayfield to close the deal, it was said. JOSEPH GAJDYS Joseph A. Gajdys, 49, (photo) of 1020-24th St., Two Rivers, a 30-year employe of the Hamilton Mfg. Co., Two Rivers, and one of the area’s most enthusiastic followers of sports activities, died at the noon hour Tuesday at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital. He had been in failing health for several months. He attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and Washington High School in Two Rivers. He entered the employ of the Hamilton Mfg. Co. July 30, 1928, and in later years worked in the company’s Dryer Division. A member of the Two Rivers Council No. 1957, Knights of Columbus, he was also a member of the Hamilton Mfg. Co. 30-Year Club. An enthusiast of most sports, he was particularly fond of basketball. It is recalled that when the Sheboygan Indians played in the old National Professional Basketball League, Mr. Gajdys didn’t miss attending a game in Sheboygan in two successive seasons. Besides his wife, the former Mildred Bonk, of Two Rivers, whom he married Feb. 15, 1941, Mr. Gajdys leaves a daughter, Janice, at home; his mother of Two Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. Lester Reis and Mrs. Milton Tess of Two Rivers, and two brothers, Vincent of Two Rivers and Stanley of West Allis. MILDRED GAJDYS Mildred (Bonk) Gajdys Greco, age 84, a resident of St. Mary Home, Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon, Sept. 21, 2001 at St. Mary's Home. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Mildred was born Dec. 18, 1916 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late John and Mabel Hickox Bonk. She attended St. Luke Parochial School and was a graduate of Two Rivers Washington High School. On Feb. 15, 1941, she was married to Joseph A. Gajdys at St. Luke's Church. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1959. She then married Alfred E. Greco on June 25, 1960 in Pocasset, Mass. He also preceded her in death July 11, 1999. Millie was employed at Hamilton Industries for 15 years, and later worked for the Foxboro Co., of Foxboro, Mass. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, swimming, and time with her pets. Survivors include one daughter, Janice Gajdys-DeSantis and her husband Gregg deSantis of Los Angles, CA; one grandson, Donte Gajdys-DeSantis; her stepchildren Fred Jr. (Cora) Greco, Richard (Valerie) Greco, Robert Greco, and Marlene (Roger) Young, all of Mass.; and a number of step-grandchildren. She is also survived by five sisters, Bettye Kraftcheck, Manitowoc, Frances (Fritz) Puls, Carol (Rogers) Puls, all of Two Rivers, Shirley (Donald) Brault, Mt. Horeb, WI, and Nancy (Leonard) Rybarczyk of Danville, IL; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Bonk Maresh, Two Rivers, and Joyce Woodward, Ann Arbor, Mich. She immigrated to this country in 1907, going to New York, N.Y. She was married Feb. 9, 1909, to Thomas Gajdys at Jersey City, N.J. The couple moved to Two Rivers the same year. Her husband died at Two Rivers Feb. 28, 1923. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality of Sacred Heart Parish. GEORGI GALLAGHER Georgi G. Gallagher, age 82, of 2815 44th St., Two Rivers, died Sunday morning, Jan. 28,2007, at her home. Georgi was born Feb. 5, 1924, in Oak Lawn, R.I., daughter of the late Manley J. and Lanna T. Tait Goodspeed. On June 4, 1956, she married Melvin L. Gallagher, in Los Angeles. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2000. Georgi was a piano teacher for many years and was an accomplished organ player. MELVIN L. GALLAGHER Melvin L. Gallagher, age 90, of 2815 44th St., Two Rivers, died Friday evening, May 5, 2000, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. A Memorial service will be held at 2p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at Grace Congregational United Church of Christ, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Kim Henning, cremation will have taken place. He was born January 17, 1910, in Wahpeton, N.D., son of the late Elmer and Elma Mae Poole Gallagher. He attended high school in Waseca, Minn., and furthered his education at Carleton College, in Northfield, Minn. He then attended the Union Theological Seminary, in New York City, where he earned a degree in Sacred Music. Mel then became Director of Music at Northfield Schools in Northfield, Mass. For a number of years, before becoming Minister of Music in Kansas City and Los Angeles. On June 4, 1956, he married Georgi Goodspeed, in Los Angeles. The couple lived in Hawaii for 26 years, where Mel was the Minister of Music of 13 United Church of Christ Churches. He was active in scouting attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. Melvin taught the love of music and church through his adult and childrens choirs. He retired to Two Rivers, to continue to give private piano lessons in his treasured students. He is survived by his wife, Georgi; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brent Gallagher, Hilo, Hawaii, David and Sarah Gallagher, Two Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law, Stella and Keoki Cordes, Oakland, Calif. Six grandchildren, Brian Gallagher, Dawn Aydelott, Calvin and Ross Cordes, and Bridget and Brian Gallagher; three great grandchildren, Nicole Aydelott, Ethan and Anna Cordes. He is further survived by one brother, Merle Gallagher, Billings, Mont.; and two brothers-in-law, M. Jedson Goodspeed, Torrance, Calif., and David Goodspeed, Smithdale, Miss. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. CATHERINE GALLENBERGER Mrs. Catherine Gallenberger, 80, formerly of this city, who has been residing with her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Lehman, of route 2, Two Rivers for four years, died Thursday in the Two Rivers Municipal hospital. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke’s church, Two Rivers. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Klein and Stangel Inc., funeral home, Two Rivers, where the rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock tonight. Born Catherine Krcmar on her parents’ farm in the town of Cooperstown in 1866, the deceased was married to John Gallenberger in 1886 at Kewaunee. The couple settled on a farm near Antigo where they remained for 10 years before returning to Kewaunee. Thirty years ago they moved to Manitowoc where they made their home until Mr. Gallenberger’s death in 1942. Mrs. Gallenberger then moved to her daughter’s home on route 2, Two Rivers. She is survived by five sons, John of Kewaunee and William, Joseph, Walter and Raymond all of Manitowoc, and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Lehman. There are 29 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. JOHN GALLENBERGER John Gallenberger, 78, residing on Memorial Dive, northeast of the city and former city treasurer at Kewaunee, died early Sunday at the Holy Family hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Jansky funeral home in Two Rivers and at nine o’clock from the Sacred Heart church here, the Rev. Louis Schorn officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross cemetery at Two Rivers. John Gallenberger was born in West Kewaunee in 1864 and came to this country 25 years ago. He was a mason contractor by trade. BETTE J. GANDEE Bette J. Gandee, age 69, of 2925 42nd St., Two Rivers, died Friday afternoon, October 4, 1996, at the Appleton Medical Center, Appleton, Wis. Bob was a World War II Navy Veteran and also served as a police officer for the city of Two Rivers until 1955. He then was employed at Clem Becker Meats until his retirement in 1989. He then became a self-employed mason contractor and upon closing the business Robert became employed at the Two Rivers Senior Center as the Meals On Wheels Coordinator until the present time. He was a member of the Manitowoc County Master Builders and an active member of St. Mark’s Church for 48 years. FRANCIS X. GARSOW TWO RIVERS MAN DROWNING VICTIM WIFE ON RIVER BANK WITNESS TO TRAGEDY Unable to Swim Francis Garsow, War Veteran Loses Life With his wife a witness in the tragedy from the river bank and companions unable to save him, Francis Garso, 35, veteran of the World war and an employe of the Aluminum Goods compnay in this city, met death in the Mishicot river early last evening while seeking relief from the oppressive heat. The Two Rivers coast guard recovered the body within a short time but efforts to resuscitate Garsow were unavailing. The drowning has cast a gloom over the city. The tragedy happened near Still Bend, a mile from the city, where Garsow, Lamber Ducas(?) and Gilbert Schultz, with their wives, had gon to excape the heat and to enjoy the river. The three men were bathing in the river when Garsow who could not swim accidently walked into a hole in the river bed, and was engulfed by the water. His two companions responded to the cries of Garsow and Mr. Schultz, who succeded in reaching the drowning man, had a hard time saving himself when Garsow grabbed him about the neck and with a death grip almost choked him. Garsow's hold was broken and the man went down to his death despite every effort to reach him again. Leaves a Family Mr. Garsow was born at Menominee, Mich., Sept. 14, 1891 and was 35. He had made his home in Two Rivers for years and on June 29, 1921, was married to Ida Deprey of this city who with three children Lorraine, Marie and Edward survive him. Two brothers, Joseph of Green Bay and William of the town of Mishicot and one sister, Mrs. Paul Boldin, of Marinette, also survives. During the World War, Mr. Garsow served fifteen months with Wisconsin troops over seas. He was well thought of here. Funeral arrangements have not been completed pending word from relatives. The body was teken to the home after being cared for at the C.J. Jansky undertaking parlor to which the remains were taken after recovery by the Coast Guard. EMMA GASPER Mrs. Joseph Gasper, 75, of the Town of Mishicot, died Wednesday night at the farm home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. August Becher, with whom she had resided for the past 11 years. She had been in failing health for the past four months. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. W. G. Haese officiating. She was married to Joseph Gasper on March 26, 1901 and the couple observed its golden wedding anniversary in 1951. Mr. Gasper died at the farm home in 1954. ALFRED J. GATES Alfred J. Gates, age 81 of 2319 Lincoln Ave., Two Rivers, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 4, 2001 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. William G. O'Brien, with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Alfred was born Aug. 30, 1920, in Two Rivers, son of the late Van and Mary Walesh Gates. He attended schools in Two Rivers, graduating from Two Rivers Washington High School. On Oct. 10, 1942 he entered the U.S. Navy, and served during WWII, until Jan. 1, 1946. On Dec. 8, 1950 he reenlisted and served during the Korean Conflict until March 25, 1952. Alfred was married to Marie Lane on April 3, 1948 at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He was employed at Hamilton Industries for over 40 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of The Community of Holy Redeemer-Sacred Heart, and he enjoyed walking. He is survived by his wife, Marie one daughter Vicki Hrdina, rural Manitowoc; and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Hrdina; one brother-in-law, Al Behrendt, Two Rivers. He was preceded in death by one son, Patrick J. Gates, and by two sisters, Levona Schroeder, and Lois Behrendt. ALICE (MASIE) GATES Alice Gates, age 74, of 1207-27th St., Two Rivers, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at the Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. BARBARA GATES Mrs. Barbara Gates, 65, widow of the late Frank Gates, died at her home at 902 21st street, Two Rivers, at 11 o'clock Friday night. Funeral services will be held from the home at 8:30 Tuesday morning and a solemn requiem high mass will be read at the Sacred Heart Catholic church at 9 o'clock. The Rev. Mrs. Gates, nee Barbara Monka, was born in the town of Two Rivers on January 18, 1878, and was a lifelong resident of the community. She married Frank Gates on August 4, 1899. He died eight years ago. EUGENE GATES Eugene N. Gates, age 61, of 9628 Fox Lane, Two Rivers, died Friday, August 16, 1996, at St. Lukes Hospital, Milwaukee. Eugene was born September 25, 1934, in Two Rivers, son of Nial Gates and the late Helen Ziarnik Gates. He attended schools in Two Rivers, graduating from Washington High School with the class of 1952. He then served with the United States Navy from July 8, 1954 to June 6, 1958, aboard the U.S.S. Lexington. Eugene was employed with his father as a commercial fisherman in Two Rivers, and was later employed at Two Rivers Tool Specialty. At the present time, he was an employee at the A.E. Goetze Corporation in Manitowoc. Eugene was a member of the Grumanns Athletic Association for many years and also played for the Grumanns softball team. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. FRANK GATES DEATH TAKES FRANK GATES AT HOSPITAL Resident of Two Rivers for 49 Years Dies This Morning; Ill Over a Year Death at 11 o'clock this morning claimed Frank Gates, 63, 902 21st street, a native of Newton and a resident of this city for 49 years in the Two Rivers Municipal hospital. He had been in ill health for more than a year. Death was due to a complication of diseases. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 o'clock in the Sacred Heart Catholic church, of which he was a devout member for many years. The Rev. Father John Landowski will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery. Remains are at the Bedhun & Goetz funeral home. Mr. Gates was born in the town of Newton, this county, March 26, 1871 and came to this city 49 years ago, settling on the east side. On Aug. 4, 1900 he married Miss Barbara Monka of this city, who survives him. He was employe of the Eggers Veneer Seating company for 18 years, working as a fireman and watchman. Later he became engaged in the commercial fishing business and was employed with the Heller Fish company for a number of years. Ill health forced him to retire a year ago. Besides his widow Mr. Gates leaves three daughters, Kathryn at home, Mrs. Robert Jeffery of Manitowoc, and Cecelia, at home, and five sons, Joseph, Albert, Alex and George of this city and Anton of Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1936. PETER GATES SR. AGED MAN IS FALL VICTIM Internal Injuries Are Fatal To Peter Gates, Sr., 78 TWO RIVERS, (Special)-Internal injuries sustained when he fall (sic) from a tree near his home early Friday caused the death at the Two Rivers municipal hosptial Saturday evening of Peter Gates Sr., 78. Gates went up into the tree to saw off an old limb, lost his balance and fell. He was taken to the hospital where he died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday. Gates lived in this city for 33 years. He was born at Newton, Wis., on June 29, 1859. Fifty-one years ago he married Miss Josephine Monka, who survives. He was employed as a wood worker and had been with the Eggers Veneer Seating company for 24 years. Surviving are 10 children, 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, one sister and two brothers. Mr. Gates, who is 78, is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Gates, early settlers at Newton where Peter was born. Mrs. Gates is the former Josephine Monka, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Monka, and is also a native of Newton. She is 67. The couple were married at the St. Luke's Catholic church by the Rev. Father Welbes. They were attended by Mrs. Mary Rebarchek, the former Mary Monka, who now resides in Chicago, Agnes Gates, now deceased, John Gates who now operates a farm in the town of Newton and by the late Frank Pietroski. Following their marriage the couple resided on a Two Rivers rural route where Mr. Gates purchased a 120-acre farm. They lived there for eleven years after which they moved to Two Rivers to the residence which they now occupy. Until 1928 Mr. Gates was employed by the Eggers Veneer Seating co. He resigned because of poor health. Mr. and Mrs. Monka had 13 children, three of whom are dead. PHILOMENE GATES Mrs. Philomene Gates, 67, of 1113-16th St., Two Rivers, died Thursday night at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital where she had been a patient for a month. HOWARD GAUGER Howard H. Gauger, age 81, of 4809 Carstens Road, Manitowoc, died on Thursday evening, Oct. 7, 2010, at North Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc after a courageous battle with cancer. Howard was born on Feb. 7, 1929, in Two Rivers, son of the late Emil and Nona (Maahs) Gauger. He attended Two Rivers Schools. Howard served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1948 until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant in 1952. He received the Presidential Unit Citation. On March 4, 1953, Howard married the former Doris Skattebo in Wauwatosa. He was a past member of VFW Otto Oas Post No. 659 of Manitowoc and the AMVETS Post No. 99 of Manitowoc. ADOLPH W. GAUTHIER Adolph W. Gauthier, age 91, formerly of 2004 29th St., Two Rivers, presently residing at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc, died Friday evening, December 13, 1996, at the home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 1996, at the Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Ken Coenen with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. He was born October 14, 1905, in the town of Two Creeks, Wis., son of the late Adolph E. and Catherine Nona Gauthier. Adolph attended St. Lukes Catholic School and was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers. He married the former Cecelia Zywicke on April 26, 1930, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on March 22, 1986. Adolph held numerous supervisory positions in several Wisconsin cities and in the state of Oregon. He retired as a supervisor from Hamilton Industries in 1970. Survivors include one grandson, Ronald LaFond, Manitowoc; three great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mary Blaczyk, Gertrude Kotchi, Virginia Pilzak and her husband, Milton, all of Two Rivers; other relatives and friends also survive. ALVIN GAUTHIER (d. 1940) FIND BODY OF GAUTHIER IN THE LAKE Stangelville Man, Missing a Month, Listed by Coroner as Suicide The body of Alvin Gauthier, 28, of Stangelville, who disappeared a month ago, was found in Lake Michigan south of the Twin River Point lighthouse north of Two Rivers this morning. The body was badly decomposed and identification was made from clothing. Nelson LeClair, Two Rivers fisherman by whom Gauthier was employed and who saw Gauthier on the day he disapeared, identified the body. (snip) Found Empty Rowboat After LeClair had found an empty rowboat anchored in 35 feet of water near the point, coast guardsmen dragged the lake in an effort to recover the body. It was found today by fishermen lifting pound nets in that vicinity. In the fishermen's boat were Paul Vernoche, Two Rivers barber, John and Norbert LeClair and Zeno Monka. They reported their discovery to the lighthouse keeper who notified the coast guard. The latter brought the body to shore. Funeral arrangements had not been made this afternoon. Earl was born on Dec. 22, 1928, to the late Lawrence and Agnes (Sousek) Gauthier in Two Rivers. He graduated from Washington High School with the Class of 1946 and then served in the U.S. Army. Earl was in the Korean War, serving as Military Police and Food Inspector. On Oct. 3, 1952, he married Marlynne Berger at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded Earl in death on April 18, 2005. He married Aileen Christensen on May 29, 2008. Earl along with his brother, Neal, owned and operated Gauthier's Meat Market. He shot trap at Westshore Sportsman Club for many years, enjoyed bowling at Rudy's Lanes and was an avid sportsman. Earl is survived by wife; Aileen Christensen; one son and daughter-in-law; two daughters and two sons-in-law; seven grandchildren; two great grandsons; one brother; two sisters-in-law (private). He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Earl is also preceded in death by one brother, Dale. Funeral services for Earl will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at St. Peter the Fisherman, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau. EDWARD GAUTHIER (d. 1930) E. GAUTHIER, 68, DIES SUNDAY AT THE HOSPITAL Edward Gauthier, 68, Roosevelt avenue, passed away last night at the hospital. For eighteen years the deceased was employed at the Goods Company and for two years was a member of the street department force of the city. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning from the St. Mark Catholic church. Mr. Gauthier was born in the town of Carleton, Kewaunee county, July 3, 1862. Forty-one years ago he was married to Mathilda Barrett, daughter of the Mr. and Mrs. Julius Barrett, of Lincoln, Kewaunee county. Since their marriage they made their home in Two Rivers. Besides his widow he leaves three sons, Anton, Grover and David, all of this city, and three daughters, Mrs. George Ney, Mrs. Joseph Ney of this city, Miss May Guthier of Milwaukee. ELI J. GAUTHIER Eli J. Gauthier, 72, of 1409 30th St., Two Rivers, retired veteran employee and early department head at Plant 4 of the Mirro Aluminum Co., Two Rivers, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital shortly before noon Sunday where he had been taken several hours earlier. When he was four years old the family brought him to Two Rivers where he had resided since. He entered the employ of the Mirro firm, March 3, 1919 and retired in late June of 1956. ELIZABETH GAUTHIER Death came as a messenger of relief to end the sufferings of Elizabeth Gauthier who died at the family home on Fifteenth street at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She was born in Two Rivers eighteen years ago and attended the local parochial and public schools where she was known as a brilliant student. A year ago she was taken ill and was operated upon in October of last year. A week later she became totally blind and has been so ever since. The funeral arrangements have not been completed but she will be buried from St. Luke's Catholic church where she was a member. ELMER GAUTHIER Elmer L. Gauthier, age 83, formerly of 2002 14th St., Two Rivers, died Thursday, July 4, 2002 at the Harbor House, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, at St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, Holy Redeemer site, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Elmer was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Two Rivers, son of the late Louis and Mary Hendzel Gauthier. He attended Valders High School and Washington High School, Two Rivers. Elmer served in the United States Amy Air Force with a tour of duty from May 1942 to March 1946 in the 39th Fighter Squadron, 35th Fighter Group. On Aug. 23. 1952 he married Eunice Matheys at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 1978. Elmer was employed, for many years at Mirro Company, retiring in September 1983. Elmer and his wife owned and operated Gauthier's South Side Liquor Store from 1961 until 1973. He was a member of the VFW Post 1248 in Two Rivers and a lifetime member of the Two Rivers Fish and Game Association. ERVIN GAUTHIER POPULAR EAST SIDE RESIDENT DIES SATURDAY Ervin Gauthier, 65, Succumbs Two Hours After Arrival At Local Hospital Complication of diseases claimed the life at 6:15 Saturday night of Ervin Gauthier, 69, 1005 19th street, well known resident of the east side, at the Two Rivers municipal hospital, where he had been a patient for only two hours. Mr. Gauthier had been in poor health for the last two years but was able to be up and around up to several weeks ago. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 8:45 from the Klein and Stangel Inc. funeral home, and at 9 o’clock from St. Luke’s Catholic church, with the Rev. Father C.V. Hugo officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery. The remains can be viewed at the funeral home until the hour of services. Mr. Gauthier was born in the town of Carlton, Kewaunee county on March 10, 1865, a son of the late Antoine and Priscilla (Greenwood) Gauthier, early settlers in that township. Deceased received his education in the schools of Carlton and at the age of 13 started out to make his own way in the world, working in the lumberwoods for six years and then becoming a cook on the lakes and in the woods until coming to this city. For the next six years he was engaged in fishing and then formed a partnership in the fishing business with his cousin, Frank Gauthier. Retiring from the fishing business he was a buffer at the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. for many years and up to his illness was employed at the Metal Ware corporation. In 1889 Mr. Gauthier was married to Jennie Charles, a native of the town of Lincoln, Kewaunee county, and she died in Two Rivers in 1893, leaving a daughter, Angeline, who passed away several years later. Later Mr. Gauthier was married to Delia Burkhart of Green Bay, who survives him with five sons and a daughter. For two terms Mr. Gauthier served as alderman from the first ward on the east side. FRANK GAUTHIER (d. 1960) Frank Gauthier, 88, of 1000-24th St., Two Rivers, retired commercial fisherman and an early operator of the Union House, Two Rivers, died at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday. GROVER C. GAUTHIER (d. 1955) Grover C. (Kelly) Gauthier, 62, of `1018—17th St., Two Rivers, one of the city’s prominent figures in the early baseball days, serving both as a player and later as manager of teams, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at his home at 6:30 a.m. Monday. Mr. Gauthier had just completed an early morning household chore and was about to go to his work at the E. Eggers Plywood and Veneer Company when he was stricken. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapel, Two Rivers, and at 9 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, the Rt. Rev. Msgr. C. V. Hugo officiating. HENRY GAUTHIER (d. 1926) Pneumonia Causes Death Henry Gauthier, life long resident of the city and a bachelor, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Charles LeClair, Washington and Nineteenth streets, at midnight, the demise being due to an attack of pneumonia. IVAN E. GAUTHIER Ivan E. Gauthier, age 76, of 1523 16th St., Two Rivers, died Sunday morning, March 1, 1998, at Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6, 1998, at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Ivan was born June 2, 1921, in Manitowoc County, son of the late Richard and Ella Oestreich Gauthier. He served with the United States Army during World War II in the South Pacific. Ivan was the recipient of the following metals(sic): Good Conduct, American Campaign, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, World War II Victory, Phillipine Liberation ribbon, an Honorable Service lapel button. On June 25, 1942, he married the former Marian Taddy. She preceded him in death on March 15, 1973. He then married Alice Henfer Duprey on May 25, 1979, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. Ivan was employed at Hamilton Manufacturing Company of Two Rivers for 37 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of the V.F.W. #1248, Two Rivers, and the Disabled American Veterans. Ivan was also a founding member of the Westshore Sportsmans Club. GAUTHIER Pioneer Resident of Two Creeks Dies Saturday Morning Joseph Gauthier, pioneer resident of the town of Two Creeks and one of the first employes of the old tannery of the Wisconsin Leather compnay, who hauled bark by team to Sheboygan and other points in the early seventies, died at his farm home on route 1 at 11:45 Saturday morning. He was 86 years old. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Luke's Catholic church, with the Very Rev. Dean C.V. Hugo officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross cemetery. The body can be viewed at the C.J. Jansky funeral home until the hour of services. Joseph Gauthier was only six years old when his parents immigrated from St. Joseph. Quebec, Canada, where he was born on December 26, 1849. The family settled in the town of Two Creeks. After 18 years of employment at the old tannery, Mr. Gauthier purchased a tract of land from the firm on which he operated a farm for 53 years. He was married 65 years ago to Miss Sophia Priegnitz in this city. She died six years ago. Ten children were born to the union, eight of whom survive. They are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Short of this city, Mrs. Ernest Johnson of Manitowoc, and six sons, Adolph of this city, William of Manitowoc, George of Two Creeks, Albert of the town of Two Rivers, Richard of Two Creeks and Peter of Newton, Manitowoc county. Mr. Gauthier is also survived by five sisters, Mrs. George Sanford, Mrs. Mary Beitzel, Mrs. Louis Creton Sr., Mrs. Charles C. LAWRENCE A. GAUTHIER (d. 1980) Lawrence (Lonnie A.) Gauthier, 77, of Route 3, Two Rivers, died Wednesday morning, May 7, at Two Rivers Community Hospital. LEONA GAUTHIER Mrs. Gauthier Dies in Crash Two Rivers-A former town of Two Rivers woman, Mrs. Albert Gauthier, 68, of the town of Wausaukee, Marinette county, was killed instantly, and her son, daughter in law and infant grandson, are confined in Marinette hospital with injuries as a result of a collision on highway 141, three miles north of Crivitz, at 5:30 Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Gauther, her son, Bernard, 28, his wife and son, (Private), a year and a half old, were returning from a visit on Sunday with the former's daughter in laws, Mrs. Matt Polich, route 1, Two Rivers, and Mrs. John Allie Jr., at Two Rivers, whose husband is with the armed forces in Korea. Although details were meager it was learned that the car driven by Mrs. Gauthier's son was struck head on by a migrant farm hand from Texas, who was employed in that area. According to reports Mrs. Gauthier's son, his wife and son are improving at the Marinette hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Gauthier both received cuts and bruises and suffered from severe shock, while the son sustained a broken leg. Mrs. Gauthier was born in the town of Two Rivers in 1893 (sic), a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beeck. In 1910 (sic) she was married in Two Rivers to Albert Gauthier, the couple taking up their home on the Gauthier homestead farm, six miles north of Two Rivers. Later the family moved to a farm near Two Rivers and nine years ago move to Middle Inlet, Marinette county. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gauthier leaves four daughters, Mrs. Vernon Lusardi of Milwaukee, Mrs. Matt Polich of the town of Two Rivers, Mrs. Harold Hoffman of route 1, Two Rivers, and Mrs. John Allie of Two Rivers; and three sons, Roy Gauthier of Cudahy, Wis., and Bernard and Glenn Gauthier on the farm home in Marinette county. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Charles Beeck of Manitowoc, two sisters, Miss Viola Beeck of Manitowoc and Mrs. Frank Nickelson of Milwaukee, and three brothers, Erwin Beeck of Shullsburg, Wis., Roland of St. Ignace, Mich., and Walter Beeck of route 2, Two Rivers. MARY GAUTHIER (d. 1943) Mrs. Frank Gauthier, 64, lifelong county resident, died early today at her home on Memorial Drive. She had been in ill health for seven months. Funeral services will be held Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Jansky funeral home, Two Rivers, and at 9 o’clock from St. Mark’s Catholic church. Mr. Gauthier, nee Mary Biel, was born in 1879 in Germany and came here at the age of ten, the family making their home in Two Rivers. She was married to Frank Gauthier in 1897 in Two Rivers. Mr. Gauthier was engaged in the fishing industry and later took over the Union House. Some years ago he operated a tavern on Legion Memorial Drive. He survives with four daughters, six sons, two sisters, a brother, a half brother and ten grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. George Bonk of Two Rivers, Miss Lila Gauthier of Milwaukee, Mrs. Richard Ronsman of Legion Memorial Drive and Mrs. Charles Neuser of Janesville. Sons are Albert, Harold and Lester of Memorial Drive, Wilbert and Virgil of Manitowoc and Arthur of Chicago. Mrs. Gusta Schroeder and Mrs. Dewey Sattler of Manitowoc are the surviving sisters, John Biel of Milwaukee the brother and Herman Gloe of Two Rivers, the half brother. MARY GAUTHIER (d. 1973) Mrs. Louis Gauthier, 79, of 935 S. 19th St., Manitowoc, formerly of Two Rivers, died Saturday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. MATHILDA GAUTHIER (d. 1941) Mrs. Edward Gauthier, 75, a resident of Two Rivers for over 50 years, died at her home late yesterday afternoon following a heart attack. She had been up and about as usual during the day and then went to lie down for awhile. She was found dead in bed. Funeral services will be held Monday mroning, at 8:30 o'clock from the Jansky funeral home and at 9 o'clock from St. Mark's Catholic church, the Rev. Peter Nilles officiating. Interment will be made in Holy Cross cemetery. Mrs. Gauthier, nee Mathilda Barrett, was born in Cedar Rivers, Mich., on June 29, 1865, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius Barrett. The family moved to the town of Lincoln in Kewaunee county when she was a girl and she lived there until her marriage on April 29, 1890. Mr. Gauthier died in 1930. MELCHER F. GAUTHIER Melcher F. (Mell) Gauthier, 64, of 1716 W. Park St. Two Rivers, a longtime downtown Two Rivers businessman, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on arrival at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital Saturday night. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Deja and Martin Chapels, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, the Rev. Earl Brouchoud officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mr. Gauthier was born March 30, 1903, in Two Rivers, a son of the late Ervin and Delia Burkart Gauthier. He attended Two Rivers elementary schools and early in his life was employed at the former F. H. Zermuehlen grocery on the city’s east side. Twenty years later he established his own grocery store on Adams Street. After 12 years he took over the operation of the former bus station on Washington Street. For the past 10 years he had been an employe of the Hamilton Mfg. Co. Mr. Gauthier was a past grand night of the Mother of Hope Council No. 1957. Knights of Columbus, and served as recording secretary of the organization for many years. He was a member of St. Luke Holy Name Society. Besides his wife, the former Lillian Lodl, whom he married June 29, 1926 at Two Rivers, he leaves a son, Allan of Manitowoc; three brothers, George and Ben, both of Two Rivers, and James of Milwaukee, and five grandchildren. The deceased had been removed to the hospital from the home on Garfield street a few days ago. VICTOR H. GAUTHIER Victor H. Gauthier, age 78 of Two Rivers, died Saturday, January 13, 2001 at North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 17, 2001 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. William G. O’Brien, with burial tO follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. and American Legion Posts. Vic was born February 4, 1922 at Claybanks, WI son of the late Grover (Kelly) & Jenny Morreau Gauthier. He attended St. Luke Parochial School, and Two Rivers Washington High School, graduating with the class of 1941. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945 in the battle of the bulge. On November 9, 1943 he was married to Ethel Wolfe in Two Rivers. She preceded him in death July 15, 1985. He then married June (Volz) Hoopes, March 3, 1990. She also preceded him in death. On February 14, 1996 he was married to Margaret (Royer) Feuerstein in Two Rivers. Vic owned & operated Vic’s Bar in Two Rivers for 27 years. While operating the bar, he was also a Blatz Beer distributor for 14 years. In 1978, Vic bought the Riverfront Beer & Liquor, which he operated until retiring in 1986. Vic was very proud of having been a member of Washington High School State Basketball Championship Team of 1941. He was a member of the AmVets, and the Disabled American Veterans, and enjoyed miniature bowling for many years. Survivors include his wife; Margaret (Mary) Gauthier, one daughter & son-in-law, Gail & Ron Emond, Two Rivers, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Gauthier, Rolla, Missouri. Five grandchildren, Scott and Nichole Gauthier, Kristy (Dave) Holvick, Tanya (David) Geiger, Jodi Emond & fiancee James Degerman. ANTHONY GEHRKE Anthony P. Gehrke, 76, of 1609-19th St., Two Rivers, an early member of the United States Coast Guard and a member of the former Hamilton Bandof Two Rivers, died at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital Friday night. He had been ill nine weeks. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Klein and Stangel, Inc. Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, the Rev. Earl Brouchoud officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Anthony Gehrke was born July 28, 1891, at Manitowoc, a son of the late Julius and Anna Theiss Gehrke. When he was a child, his family brought him to Two Rivers. He entered the Coast Guard shortly before World War I and served on the cutter Tuscarora. Later he was a member of the crew of the old whaleback passenger boat, the Christopher Columbus, of the old Goodrich Transit Co. Mr. Gehrke was an employe of Mirro Aluminum Co. at Two Rivers for 43 years, retiring in 1958. He also was a member of the old Two Rivers South Side, Brass Band for a number of years. Affiliated with St. Luke Altar Society, he also was a member of the Mirro 25–Year Club. Besides his wife, the former Christine Schauer, whom he married in 1915 at Two Rivers. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Beatrice) Christoffel and Mrs. John (Grace) Martinkavitz, both of Two Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. George Schepper and Mrs. Joseph Wilson, Sr, both of Two Rivers; two brothers, John of Milwaukee and Clement Sr. of Two Rivers; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. GEIMER Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at Two Rivers for Fred Geimer, 34, bowling alley proprietor, who was found dead in his automobile parked near Walsh field at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon. Geimer died of a self-inflicted revolver wound. The shot entered his head near the right ear. There will be short services from the Jansky funeral home at 8:30 o’clock and at St. Mark’s Catholic church at 9 o’clock with the Rev. Peter Nilles officiating. Mr. Geimer was born in Two Rivers April 1, 1905, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Geimer When he was a small child his parents moved to the present homestead in the town of Two Rivers near the old Tannery. As a young man he moved to Two Rivers and lived most of his life there with the exception of a few years in Chicago. As a young man he was well known in boxing circles, engaging in several bouts throughout the state. In 1936 he took over the recreation club bowling alleys and 16th street in Two Rivers and had since operated them. He was a member of the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. On April 18, 1927 he married Miss Leona Peiri, who survives with two children, Ardis Ann, 11, and Fred, Jr., 6; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Geimer of the town of Two Rivers; four brothers, Martin and William of Buffalo, N.Y., Urban, of Two Rivers and Albert at home; seven sisters, Mrs. A. N. Perry and Miss Grace Geimer of Buffalo, N.Y., Sister M. JACOB GEIMER Jake Geimer, 72, town of Two Rivers farmer, died Sunday morning at the Two Rivers Municipal hospital, following a stroke he suffered at his farm home Friday night. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Lukes Catholic church, Two Rivers, with burial in Holy Cross cemetery. The body may be viewed at the Klein and Stangel Inc. funeral home, Two Rivers, where the rosary will be recited at 7:45 Tuesday evening. Mr. Geimer was born in Cooperstown in 1873 and in 1896 married Miss Mariana Gagnon and they located in Two Rivers, until he purchased a farm in the township in 1905. Mrs. Geimer died in 1941. Mr. Geimer was active for years in the Rangeline creamery, serving as secretary- treasurer. The creamery went out of operation several years ago. He was also a member of the St. Joseph’s and Holy Name societies at St. Luke’s church, and served for a number of years as justice of the peace for the town of Two Rivers. He retired from active farming several years ago, but had continued to make his home with a son, Albert, who assumed operation of the home farm. In addition to Albert, there are three other sons surviving: Urban of Two Rivers and William and Martin, both of Buffalo, N.Y.; seven daughters, Sister M. Candida of the Franciscan order at Silver Lake, recently a teacher at Escanaba, Mich., Mrs. Edward Grimm of route 1, Two Rivers, Mrs. A.N. URBAN L. GEIMER Urban L. Geimer, 76, of 1822 Lincoln St., Two Rivers, died Sunday, Jan. 16, at Two Rivers Community Hospital. Mr. Geimer was born Nov. 29, 1906, in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late Jacob and Marianna Gagnon Geimer. He married Gertrude Forst, July 9, 1931, at Menominee, Mich. Mr. Geimer hauled refuse and managed sanitary landfill for the City of Two Rivers for 10 years, operated Drayline and Trucking Company for several years, and was a commercial fisherman for 10 years. He was a shipfitter for Manitowoc Shipbuilding, retiring in 1968. He had the first electric car in Manitowoc County. Mr. Geimer was a lifetime member of St. Luke Catholic Church, a 35 year member of Manitowoc Eagles Aerie 706, and a member of Two Rivers Senior Citizens. EDWIN LEONARD GELDON Funeral services for Edwin L. Geldon, 45, of 9175, N.W., Rambler Lane, Portland, Ore., husband of the former Anna Krajeck of the Town of Two Rivers, who was killed in a traffic accident Saturday night near Orofino, Idaho, will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the Klein & Stangel, Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. Hough Co. of Libertyville, Ill., was killed along with his passenger, Frank Learn, also a firm serviceman, when their car skidded on the ice on what is known as a dangerous curve six miles west of Orofino. Mr. Geldon was born in Chicago, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Geldon, now of Bangor, Mich. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard for two years in World War II, and had worked after the war for the Hough Co. and made his home with his family at Zion, Ill., until last June when he was transferred to the west coast. Besides his wife, a nurse whom he married at Waukegan, Ill., in 1942, he leaves two children, Dianna and Karl, at home; his parents, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Oswald, of Chicago. WILLIAM GENRICH Two Rivers - William R. "Bones" Genrich, age 78, a Two Rivers resident, entered into eternal life Friday morning, February 16, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born December 9, 1939 in Merrill, Wisconsin to the late Herman and Hazel Guerin Genrich and has been a longtime Two Rivers resident. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School. Bill served his country in the United States Army from August of 1958 to July of 1964. He married the former Geraldine "Gerry" Franz November 27, 1976 in Two Rivers. He worked for the Hamilton Manufacturing Co. for many years and retired from there in 2002. Bill enjoyed playing pool, baseball, golfing, and bowling. He is survived by his loving wife: Gerry, one daughter and son-in-law: Erica and Eric Dewey, of Two Rivers, three grandchildren: Aleigha, Elias, and Liam, two brothers: Robert "Skunny" Genrich, of N. Dakota, Michael (Joyce) Genrich, of Two Rivers, five sisters: Betty Thomason, of Colorado, Sylvia (Bill) Zahorik, of Green Bay, Patricia Pribek, of Two Rivers, Ramona (Wayne) Marcelle, of Mishicot, Mary (Arlyn) Clarksen, of Waukesha. CLARA GERNOSKI Mrs. J. Gernoski, 36, Dies at Sanitarium After an illness since last July Mrs. Joseph Gernoski, 36, passed away this morning at Maple Crest sanitarium. Burial will take place Thursday morning from Sacred Heart church. The deceased, who was Clara Sayeski, was born in Manitowoc in 1894 and six years later the family moved here. She was married fifteen years ago. Besides her husband and parents she leaves three children, Sylvester, 15; Florence, 12, and Dorothy, 10. She also leaves five sisters, Mrs. Anna Adler, of Pulaski; Mrs. Martha Dichen, of Milwaukee, Mrs. Mary Frasch, of this city, and Helen Sayeski at home (sic-1 sister not listed); and five brothers, John and Frank of this city, Joseph, of Oshkosh, and Stanley and Anthony, a home. JOSEPH GERNOSKI Joseph J. Gernoske(sic), 61, of 1515 1/2 Washington St., Two Rivers, died at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital shortly before noon Sunday where he had been a patient two weeks. Military funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, the Rev. Peter Klauke officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers. The drill squad of the Robert E. Burns, Post 165, American Legion, of which he was a member, will participate in the graveside rites. Mr. Gernoske was born on July 31, 1895, at Oshkosh, a son of the late Walter and Anna Urban Gernoske. He attended schools at Oshkosh and in 1916 he married the former Clara Sayeski in Two Rivers, who died in 1931. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was a member of the drill team of the Robert E. Burns Post for a number of years, and at a period when the organization served as honor guards for the late President Coolidge in a visit to Wausau in 1928. In 1931 he married Tillie Petrashek at Two Rivers, who survives him with two daughters Mrs. Joseph Wondrash and Mrs. Wallace Culligan of Two Rivers; two sons, Sylvester of Milwaukee and Joseph Jr., at home; five sisters, Mrs. Frank Tabalske, Mrs. John Celehowske, Mrs. Stanley Marheske, Mrs. Peter Karsarski, and Miss Lucille Gernoske, and a brother, Emil Gernoske, of Oshkosh; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Gernoske was an employe of the F. Eggers Plywood & Veneer Co., Two Rivers, for the past nine years.
