DESCENDANTS OF JOHANN & MARIA EIKERT Johann Eikert, (1804-1894) born in Brunn, Mecklenberg-Strelitz married Maria Tedelman, per his death Certificate recorded in Manitowoc, County, Wisconsin. They came to Centerville, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin with their family in 1853. The children born in Mecklenburg were Maria (Mary) born in 1832, Carl or Charles, born 1835, Johann Friedrich, born 1839, and Anna born in 1850. The family settled in Centerville Township, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin on a farm in Section 30. Maria died in 1871 and Johann in 1894 in Centerville, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin and are both buried in the Saxon Cemetery, Centerville Township, Manitowoc County, WI. My Eckert research is now back to 1782 in Brunn, Mecklenberg Strelitz. In the Family Search file I found my oldest reference, the birth of Christine Sophia Dorothea Hasselmann, daughter of Friedrich Hasselmann of Brunn, Mecklenburg-Strelitz Germany. She married Carl Friedrich Eckard on October 20, 1804 in Brunn Mecklenburg-Strelitz. I found baptismal records for three children of Carl Friedrich Eckard and Christina: Johann Friedrich Eikert, Regina Sophia Elenora and Joachim David Friedrich, all christened between 1804 and 1809, at the Evangelical Church, Brunn, Mecklenberg-Strelitz through the LDS Family Search Website. The Children and Grandchildren 1. Maria (Mary) Eikert, 1832-1918 wed Friedrich Oehldrich in about 1855. I have not found a recorded document for this marriage, but I assume they married in Centerville. Descendants of the Oehldrich branch are still living in Manitowoc County as of 2010. Friedrich Oehldrich and Maria Eikert had 6 children, with 3 living to adulthood. William, Carl, Anna Maria, Fredrich and two infants who are buried in the family plot in Saxon Cemetery, Centerville, WI. William Oehldrich, 1856 – 1940, married Anna Fenn, in 1879 in Sheboygan County, WI. They had at least 6 children, all born in Centerville, Erwin, Clara, Ella, Edgar, William and Cora. William Oehldrich died in Chicago, Illinois in 1940 and is buried in the Saxon Cemetery in Centerville. Carl Oehldrich, born 1858, died 1872 buried in family Plot in Saxon Cemetery, Manitowoc Anna Maria Oehldrich (Mary) 1862-1905, married Frederick Hemb on August 2, 1881 in Manitowoc County, WI. They lived at Cleveland, WI for a while and moved to Sheboygan where Mary died in 1905. She is buried in the Saxon Cemetery in Centerville. They had a daughter Mary born 1882. I have no further information on the daughter at this time. Fred married Minnie Gier, about 1908 in Sheboygan and he died in 1917 and is buried in the Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan, WI. Friedrich (Fritz) Oehldrich 1866-1950 first married Emma Kuehne in 1892. They had children, Clarence, who was killed in action during WWI, Lester and Edward. Emma died in 1897 in Sheboygan County, WI and then Fritz married Emelia Kaestner in 1898 in Sheboygan County, WI. Emelia passed away in 1944. Both Wives are buried in the plot with Fred at the Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan, Sheboygan County, WI. 2. Charles (Carl) Eikert, 1835 – 1911, married Anna Roepke. I have not located original marriage information for them. They were living in Plymouth, WI where daughter Ellen was born in 1868. The next children – Charles William, 1871, Sarah, 1873 and Siegmund Harry 1875 were born in Centerville Township, Manitowoc County. Paul, 1877 and Martha, 1880 were born on the Eikert Farm in Schleswig Township. In 1881, Charles left his family on the farm and disappeared according to a news item in the Nord Western from the Kiel reporter. Charles and Anna were married in a religious ceremony in Kiel Wisconsin in 1882, a month before they sold the Farm in Schleswig and the family moved to Des Moines, Iowa. Charles died at the Polk County Hospital, Saylor Township, Polk County, IA in 1911. He and Anna( 1844-1916) are buried in the Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines, IA. Ellen (Ella) Eikert, 1868-1945, married Frank Hamlin Allen in Des Moines, Iowa May 4, 1887. They moved to Maxwell, Story County, IA after a quick trip to Hill City, South Dakota. They had children, Florence Rena, Clarence Foss, Forest Oak, Frank Floyd, Marian Isabel, Ransom H.. Carol Gladys, Lola Mildred and James. Frank and Ella Allen are buried in the Center Grove Cemetery in Maxwell, Story County, IA. Charles William Eikert, 1871-1946, married Lillian Mae Fisk. They had no issue. They lived in Saylor Township, Polk County, IA and are buried in Woodland Cemetery, Des Moines, Polk County, IA Sarah Eikert, 1873 – 1927, married Frank H. Larson in Des Moines, IA. They lived in Des Moines and had one son, Harry Larson born in 1908. Sarah is buried in the Woodland Cemetery in Des Moines, Polk County, IA. Harry (Siegmund H.) Eckert 1875-1913, left Des Moines, IA in 1895 and moved to Chicago, Illinois. He went by his middle name Harry after leaving home. He married Anna Cron in 1900 in Chicago, Illinois. They had children, Clara (1904) and Russell Henry (1907) in Chicago, Illinois. Harry drowned in Lake Michigan and is buried in the Knights of Pythias Plot in Elmwood Cemetery, Chicago, IL. His widow (who was originally from Joliet, IL) married John Hohner and died in 1950 in Joliet She is buried in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Joliet, IL in a plot with her parents, Henry and Eva Cron. Paul Eikert, 1876-1914, married Bessie Parkhill in Des Moines, IA. They had a daughter Dorothy Helen and son Kenneth Parkhill Eikert. Paul and Dorothy are buried in the same plot in Woodland Cemetery in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. Bessie married Sam Sheffield and they moved to Arkansas. Son Kenneth married Lorraine Fouche and died in Vicksburg, Mississipi in 1989. Martha, 1880 -1967, had one daughter Ruth Anna Eikert in 1897 and then married Henry Kroeger about 1906 in Des Moines, IA. Ruth went by the name Kroeger. Henry Kroeger died in Des Moines, Polk, IA and is buried with a son Henry in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA. Martha married Charles Shankster in Des Moines, IA 24 Dec. 1925 and died 11 November, 1967 in Washington County, Oregon. 3. John Friedrich Eickert 1839-1916, married Dorothea Kracht about 1865. They lived in Herman, Sheboygan County, where son Charles was born in 1867. They then moved to Rantoul, Calumet County, Wisconsin where children Emma, William, Annie, Ida, Friedrich Henry, Henry Carl, Richard and John C. were born. John died in Rantoul, Calumet County WI and Dorothea died in Shawano, WI. (as per a newspaper item) They are both buried in the Peace Church Cemetery near Potter, WI in Rantoul Township, Calumet Co. WI. Charles W. Eckert (Eickert) 1867-1951, married Clara Klessig in Calumet County, WI in 1897. They moved to Grover Township, outside Peshtigo and farmed. They had one son, John Charles Eckert, who never married. Charles, Clara and John are buried in the Harmony Hills cemetery in Grover Town, Marinette County, Wisconsin. Emma Eickert, 1869- ____ was never married. She lived in Brillion, WI. I think she may have died at Marinette, but have not found a record for her as of yet She was working in Marinette in 1930 census for the Dennison Family when she was 62 years old. William Eickert, 1870-1877 is buried in the Peace Church Cemetary, Rantoul, Calumet County, WI. Anna or Annie Eickert, 1869-____ died after 1952. She married Albert Peter about 1890. They lived at Porterfield, Marinette County, WI. They had children Robert, John, Albert Frank, Emma Dora Emily, Irena Clara, Inez May and George. Albert Sr. & Albert Frank are buried in the Harmony Hills cemetery on the border of Grover and Porterfield Townships just outside of Peshtigo, WI. Anna may be buried there too, I don't have any info on her death except she was listed as a survivor in her brothers obit. Ida Eickert, 1874 - ____ before 1952) was not married and was living with her Mother in the 1920 Census in Rantoul Township. I have no further information on Ida as of this writing. Fredrick Fritz) Henry Eickert, 1876-1952 married Ella Pagel in Calumet County, WI in 1903. They had children, Viola, Melvin, William, Norman, Elsie, Emilie and John. Fritz and Ella (1883-1968) are buried in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Brillion, WI. Henry Carl Eickert (1877-____) was a pharmacist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was still a resident of Milwaukee in 1952. I have no further information on Henry as of this writing. He may be the Henry C. Eckert that died in Hilbert in 1963 or 1967. I have conflicting information on his age from census reports and his WW1 Draft Registration. Richard Robert Eickert, (1879-1942) worked for the C.M. St. Paul & Pacific Railroad. He died in Chicago,Cook County, Illinois and his remains were taken to Milwaukee, WI for Interment. Only survivor listed in the obit was brother Henry, living in Milwaukee. John C. Eickert (1883-1916) married Freida Kasper and they had sons Ralph W. and Reuben H. John died in Rantoul, Calumet County and is buried in the Peace Church Cemetery in Rantoul Township, Calumet County. Freida lived until 1965 and she is buried with John in the family plot in the Peace Church Cemetery. 4. Anna Eickert (1850-1925) married Bernhardt Waechter in 1867 in Sheboygan County. They had children, William H., Matie May, John, Anna Christina, and one other child, all born in Sheboygan, Sheboygan County. Anna died in Rutherford, New Jersey at the home of her daughter with whom she lived. She is buried in Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan, Sheboygan, WI. William H. Waechter, 1868-1953, married 1. Clara Belle Tucker in 1892 in Sheboygan County, WI. They had one son, Harrison Francis Waechter. Clara Belle died in 1937 and in 1938 William married Marie Jausch in Chicago, Illinois. William and Clara Belle are buried in the Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan, WI. as is Harrison's wife Marjory. William was a partner of the American Chair Co in Sheboygan. Matie Mae Waechter (1869-1900) married Henry Kornreich in 1890 in Sheboygan County, WI The had one son Bernard born in Feb of 1894 and died in June 1894. Matie Mae Kornreich and baby Bernard are buried in Wildwood Cemetery in Sheboygan, WI. John Waechter was born in Sheboygan County on Dec. 24, 1870. He is not on the 1880 Census of the family in Sheboygan. I have no death date or burial location for John. Anna Christina Waechter, (1874 - ____) married Charles Albert Smith in Sheboygan, Sheboygan County, WI in 1897. They lived in New Jersey and in Brooklyn, NY. And were living in Rutherford New Jersey in 1927 when her mother died. Anna and Charles had one daughter, Elizabeth J.
