Stangelville Wedding Held…
The St. Lawrence Catholic church at Stangelville was the setting for a pretty
late summer wedding at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning, when Miss Lucille E. Konop,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Konop, Stangelville, became the bride of
Raymond John Grossel, son of Louis Grossel of Wilton Junction, Iowa. The Rev.
John G. Vorlichek celebrated the nuptial mass.
As the bridal party entered the church “Rendezvous” was played. The precessional
was the Mendelssohn wedding march. The choir sang during the mass and solo
selections were “Ave Maria,” by Rev. Dobbelstein, sung by Miss Ada Mazanet,
cousin of the bride, and “Thou For Whom I’ve Long Been Sighing,” sung by Joseph H.
Konop, Milwaukee, brother of the bride. They were accompanied by Henry Konop,
violinist and Mrs. George Last, Two Rivers, organist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attractive in a gown of white
satin with lace jacket. Her veil of tuile, edged with Chantilly lace, fell from
a lace cap. The bridal bouquet was of Easter lilies.
Blue, pink and white, so popular this season were emphasized in the costumes of
the bride's attendants. Miss Marie Konop, sister of the bride, as maid of honor
wore a frock of delicate blue net over blue tafetta. Her hat was of pink crepe
with a touch of blue, and she held a bouquet of pink roses, banded with small
blue flowers.
Gowns of the bridesmaids, Miss Beatrice Konop, cousin of the bride, and Miss
Beatrice Larson; Denmark, were fashioned similarly of pink crepe. They wore
blue turbans with a touch of pink and carried pink roses and blue flowers.
Little Josephine Kugle, Reedsville, cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid.
Her long frock was of white embroidered organdy over blue tafetta, and she
carried a small bouquet of pink and blue blossoms.
The groom was attended by Quirin Kohlbeck, Manitowoc, as best man. The ushers
were Henry Longhurst, Milwaukee, cousin of the groom, and Daniel Konop, brother
of the bride.
Dinner and supper were served to a large number of friends at the home of the
bride’s parents. A wedding dance was given last evening. Mr. and Mrs. Grossel
have left on a tour of northern Wisconsin, planning to be at home at
Stangelville after Sept. 15.

J. Leslie Kuplic Memorialized In Scout Resolution
The late J. Leslie Kuplic, president of the Kohler Co., has been honored in a
memorial resolution adopted by the Kettle Moraine Boy Scout Council’s executive
board.
Mr. Kuplic, who died July 22, was a vice president of the Boy Scout council.
Those of us who were fortunate to be more intimately acquainted with him knew that
he was one of the very few who could open his heart and mind to all experiences
of human companionship; to the intimate love of his family; the riches of
friendship; to the rewards of teamwork as an athlete, and as an industrialist
who worked himself up from the bottom rung of the ladder to the presidency of
the Kohler Co., and became a great leader of men,” the resolution declared.
“He believed in self-initiative and produced his own passport to success in living.
“J. Leslie Kuplic had a dream, and because he had a dream, the lights of the
Kohler Co., Greater Sheboygan and the Kettle Moraine Council, Boy Scouts of A
merica, shine forth as reminders of a man’s love for his fellow workers, citizens
and the youth of our community,” the resolution stated.
