Der Nord Westen, 27 Apr. 1899 ***** Notes From Kellnersville: And now Rev. F. Just has given Mr. John Groessel and Miss Annie Pinger their first call. They will be married some time in May. John Groessel is the genial bartender at M. Kellners. His intended bride is a daughter of one of our best known men, Mr. Chas. Pinger. In due time we shall be pleased wo write up the wedding. Who is next? Manitowoc Pilot, Wis., Thursday, April 27, 1899 pg. 8 ***** Marriage Licenses: County Clerk Maresh this week issued the following marriage licenses: …John Gressel and Anna Pinger, both of Franklin secured their license by application to Judge Anderson as their marriage was fixed for a time before the five days would expire. There was no license granted for the marriage solemnized near Neshoto Saturday night, but no trouble will ensue. Manitowoc Pilot, Wis., Thursday, May 11, 1899 pg. 8 ***** Notes From Kellnersville: Mr. John Gressel was married to Miss Annie Pinger on Tuesday. The nuptial know was tied by Rev. Just at St. Joseph's church. The wedding was a very beautiful one attended by a large circle of relatives and friends. The following acted as groomsmen and bridesmaids: John Pinger was best man with Miss Annie Muench as first bridesmaid. John Kohlbeck with Miss Annie Krall. The wedding party had a peculiarity in names, the bridegroom and his attendants being Johns and the bride and her maid Annies. Three Johns and three Annies is not an everyday occurrence at a wedding. After the wedding ceremony the party repaired to the home of the bride where abundance of food and good cheer prevailed. In the evening Joseph Kellner's hall ran with music and soon the fantastic toe was everywhere in evidence. We extend our hearty congratulations to the newly married couple. Manitowoc Pilot, Wis., Thursday, May 11, 1899 pg. 7 ***** John Gressel of Kellnersville had planned his wedding with Miss Anna Pinger to take place Mon., 08 May. The guests were invited and all the preparations made for a joyful marriage feast. At that point the new Marriage License Law came up and threatened to cancel the proceedings. So on Fri. the agitated Mr. Gressel went to the County Clerk Maresh and told him he was getting married Mon. Mr. Maresh was glad to issue them a license but had to tell him it would not take effect until Wed. Eventually everything was solved when County Judge Anderson issued a special license. Mr. Griep was employed in this city and went to Manitowoc to claim his bride and the knot was tied. Tonight the couple, with their relatives and friends will attend divine services held in their honor at St. John's Lutheran Church at 6:30 and Rev. W.G. Haase will preach a sermon appropriate to the occasion. The Grieps have become well and favorably known here over the lapse of years and many will attend the service which is open to the public. A banquet for relatives and invited guests will follow. Both Mr. and Mrs. Griep are in good health, she at the age of seventy and he at seventy-seven. For forty-six years, Mr. Griep was foreman of the Mueller Bros. Brewing Co. He gave up this work shortly after the law was enacted and an amendment was added to the U.S. Constitution which prohibited the making of the amber fluid according to the popular recipe, the brewing of this he thoroughly understood. Mr. and Mrs. Griep reared a family of seven. Those living are August, Mrs. Albert Kahrs, Carl, Fred and Miss Margaret, all of this city. There are 19 grandchildren to help swell the happy throng tonight at the banquet which will be held in the dining room of St. John's School. There are also four great grandchildren. The Reporter-Chronicle extends best wishes and congratulations to the venerable couple. Two Rivers Reporter - Chronicle - Jan. 19, 1928

The date set for the wedding is Tuesday, July 2. Manitowoc Pilot, Wis., Thursday, June 20, 1907 pg. 8 ***** Notes From St. Nazianz: One of the most pretty weddings of the season took place Tuesday morning when the marriage of Emily Rauch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rauch, to Andrew Groh, was solemnized at 9 o'clock at St. Gregories church in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Benzinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana, uncle of the bride, and was followed by a nuptial high mass for which a special musical program was rendered. As the bridal party entered the church, a wedding march was played by Miss Mary Gerhard. The bride was attired in a beautiful princess gown of white radium silk, the bodice trimmed with duchess lace. Her long full veil of tulle was caught in her hair with a white rose. She carried a round bouquet of bride's roses. The Misses Rose Rauch and Mary Groh were the brides maids. They were gowned alike in white China silk elaborately trimmed with valencein lace. They wore pink roses in their hair and carried bouquets of white and pink carnations. The groom was attended by Frank Groh and Max Rauch. After the ceremony the bridal party and relatives and friends repaired to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rauch, where a reception was held and a wedding breakfast served, which was followed by dancing on a large decorated canvas covered pavilion erected on the law. Music was furnished by the Eckes Orchestra. The reception room was very prettily decorated with cut flowers, ferns and vines. The dining room was done in pink and white. Above the table hung a white wedding bell, from this, streamers of pink and white ribbons were draped to the table which was also decorated with pink and white peonies. The bride and groom received a handsome collection of wedding presents which is in part a testimonial to their popularity among their many friends. The bride, who has been teaching school in the public schools of the county for the last three years, is a young lady of many estimable qualities, and her friends are legion. The groom has been associated for a number of years with his brother, Wm. Groh, dealer in general merchandise, and is a young man for whom his friends have sincere respect and regard.
