Room No. 6 - Kindergarten
Miss Jo. Arnstein, Teacher
Promotions have been made two or three times during the year from this
room to the Primary Department. The plan pursued has been to promote
pupils as soon as they were able to read reasonably well in the Union
Primer. The most advanced pupils in this room will be transferred to the
Primary, so as to divide the work equally between the two departments.
___________________________
During the past year I have been so situated that it was impossible to
fully attend to the monthly examination and grading of classes. Having no
assistant to leave in charge of the room, I could not leave it, but for a
limited time, without dismissing my pupils; consequently little was done
in the line of examination of classes except what was done out of regular
school hours.
This year I shall adhere closely to a plan of regular monthly and term
examination of classes, and pupils will have to attain a certain standard
to retain their position in their classes
Pupils that were not present at the close of last year will have to be
examined and assigned to the proper grade when they make their appearance
for school.
It would be well if some plan could be devised that would accomplish this
work, or a portion of it at least, before the time for opening school.
