In the presence of only relatives and a few intimate friends, Miss Alice 
Richards today became the bride of George W. Dolphin, of Milwaukee the 
ceremony taking place at the bride's home on North Sixth street at 3 
o'clock. Rev. Wm. Hooton officiated in the pretty service. Attendants of 
the bridal couple were Miss Susie Rtchards (sic) and Robert Dolphin, the 
latter of Tara, Canada. A dinner was served and Mr. and Mrs. Dolphin 
departed later for a wedding trip, after which they will reside in Milwaukee.
The bride is a daughter of James Richards and has always made her home in 
this city and is a young lady who has won many friends. Possessing those 
womanly qualities that well fit her for her new station in life the marriage 
today is a happy one. Mr. Dolphin is employed as a railway clerk and is a 
young man of high character. That the future may be happy for Mr. and Mrs. 
Dolphin is the wish of many friends.

A church ceremony at St. Boniface Church this morning gave Miss Anna Radsky, a 
popular Southside girl, to be the bride of William Donohue of Kaukauna, many friends 
being present for the ceremony. Miss Lydia Pruess and Harry Donohue attended the 
bridal pair and following the ceremony a dinner and reception was tendered. Mr. 
Donohue and bride will make their home at Kaukauna where the groom is engaged in 
business as proprietor of a restaurant. The bride is a young lady who has a wide circle 
of friends and the couple will have the kindly wishes for a long and happy life.

As the clock chimed the hour of nine o'clock last Tuesday morning, 
Miss Katie Christoffel of the Southside and Jos. Donchek took the marriage 
vows at St. Luke's Church, Rev. Father Hugo officiating. Miss Frances Donchek 
was bridesmaid and Miss Tillie Beitzel acted as maid of honor, while Mr. Jos 
Christoffel and Jos Doncheck served as best man to the groom. The marriage 
ceremony was attended by a large circle of friends of the couple. The celebration 
of the marriage took place at the home of the bride's father, Mr. Nic Christoffel 
and the guests were composed of the nearest relatives of the bridal party. 
A sumptuous wedding dinner was served, followed by a dancing party which 
was thoroughly enjoyed by all, Kohls & Ahrens furnishing the music. The guests 
from abroad were: Henry Christoffel and family from Sheboygan, Jos Yaeger and 
family from Brillion, Jos Kolocheski, Christian Ertmann, Peter Smongeski and their 
families and Mrs. G. Ertman and children, all of Green Bay. The newly wedded pair 
will reside on the northern end of Washington Street in the Winter residence. 
The Reporter extends congratulations. May the happy couple have a long and 
prosperous journey in the matrimonial trip through life.

Doolan, 72, Milwaukee engineer dies
Bartley Doolan, 72, a retired engineer on the Milwaukee Road, died
Tuesday at a local hospital. He came to Mason City and began working
for the railroad in 1911. He retired in June 1956.
Mr. Doolan was born Jan. 4, 1889, at Maple Grove, Wis., to Michael
and Mary (Mullanes)(sic) Doolan. He was graduated from Reedsville
Academy, Reedsville, Wis., and Marquette University, Milwaukee. He
was married May 29, 1925, in Chicago to Hilda I. Straeck.
He served in the Navy during World War I and was a member of Clausen-
Worden Post of the American Legion, the Brotherhood of Railroad
Firemen and Engineers, Knights of Columbus Council 1006, and St.
Joseph's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, 230 15th SE; three daughters, (private);
two sons, (private); and eight grandchildren. 
Also survivng are two brothers, John, Maple Grove, Wis., and James,
Manatowauk, Wis., and three sisters, Miss Julia Doolan, Milwaukee;
Miss Clara Doolan, Manatowauk, and Miss Agnes Doolan, Springfield,
Ill.
Requiem high Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic
Church. The Rev. P.J. Maguire will officiate. Burial with military
honors will be in St. Joseph-Elmwood Cemetery.
The Knights of Columbus Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Thursday
and the parish Rosary at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hogan-McKee Colonial
Funeral Home.

Notes from Maple Grove:
Mr. and Mrs. Bartholomew Doolan(sic) celebrated their golden wedding Monday. 
Mass was celebrated in St. Patrick's, the same church in which they were 
married fifty years ago. Six guests at the wedding in 1870 were present at 
the golden wedding mass: Thomas Watts Sr., Michael Watts, Mrs. J. Doolan, 
John Moran, Mrs. Daley and Mrs. Michael Watts. 
A dinner at the Doolan home was followed by an afternoon celebration and a 
happy family reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Doolan are well and favorably known in 
this part of the county. Mrs. Doolan before her marriage was Sarah Watt. Both 
Mr. Doolan and his wife were born in Maple Grove and have spent their lives 
here. Since marriage they have lived on the same farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Doolan are parents of ten children, all of whom were present at 
the celebration. They are John and Thomas at Maple Grove, Mrs. George 
Marlborough, Cato; Mrs. Sarah Bailey, DePere, Wis.; Mrs. Agnes Roechel, DePere;

Notes from Maple Grove:
That reaper whose name is Death, has visited us and removed from our midst one 
of our few surviving pioneers, when early Wednesday morning, Nov. 29th., Mrs. 
Patrick Dorcey(sic) passed away. Her death was long expected as she had been 
seriously ill during the past two years.
Her maiden name was Mary Daley. She was born in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland in 
1837 and came to American with her parents in 1846, settling in Massachusetts. 
She later moved to Wisconsin. She was married at Francis Creek to Patrick Dorcey 
in 1861 and moved to her present home in Morrison where she resided until the time 
of her death.
She was the mother of seven children, four of whom are left to mourn her death, 
namely: E.T. Dorcey, Mrs. Mike Peppard and Hannah, all of this place and John Dorcey, 
whose whereabouts are unknown. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Hannah 
Kennedy; two brothers, Tim and Patrick Daley, all of Guckeen, Minn., and by fifteen 
grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren.
She was a kind and charitable friend, a good Christian and loving mother who had to 
suffer much of the trials of life in caring for her children as her husband was laid 
to rest 42 years ago. The funeral was held Friday morning from St. Patricks Church, 
Maple Grove, Rev. C.A. Casey officiating.
The pallbearers were James, John, Will, Ed and Charles Daley, sons of John Daley and 
James Daley, son of Patrick Daley, all grandnephews of the deceased. Among those far 
away who attended the funeral were: Leo and Horace Mulloy and wife of Orangeville, 
Ill., Theresa, Marcella and Charles Mulloy, Abrams and Margaret Foley, Manitowoc.

COULDN'T AGREE ON RELIGION
Aged Mishicot Couple Then Decided to Separate for Good
Differences in religious belief and faith in the cause given for the domestic troubles of 
John Dose and wife, an aged Mishicot pair who will appear at the January term of circuit 
court to gain a sanction to separation that they have agreed upon. According to papers 
which have been filed, Dose who is 75 years of age is a Lutheran; his wife, aged 55, is a 
firm believer in the doctrine of Methodism. Unable to agree they decided to separate and 
the court action is brought for a settlement of property. The couple were married at 
Mishicot in May, 1886.

occasion. Both bride and groom are well known young people of the county 
and will have the best wishes of friends for their happiness. They will 
reside at Two Rivers.

this city and a member of the firm of John Droegkamp and Sons Hardware merchants 
of Milwaukee. The bride is a well known and accomplished Sheboygan lady. The 
groomsmen were Henry Augustine of Sheboygan and John Killian of Milwaukee. 
The bridesmaids were Tillie Droegkamp and Emma Laubenstein of Milwaukee. 
The occasion was a very pleasant one and took place in this city because of the 
residence here of Rev. H.J. Droegkamp, the brother of the bridegroom.

IN PROBATE-MANITOWOC COUNTY COURT. In the matter of the estate of Ernestine E. 
Drumm deceased.
On reading and filing the petition of George Drumm, of said county, representing 
among other things that Ernestine E. Drum (sic), late of said county, on the 11th 
day of August, A.D., 1878, at Manitowoc Rapids, died intestate, leaving goods, 
chattels, and estate within this state, and that the said petitioner is the widower 
of said deceased, and praying that administration of said estate be to Frederick 
Drumm granted, it is ordered that said petition be heard before the Judge of this 
Court, on Monday, the 16th day of September, A.D., 1878, at 10 o'clock A.M., at my 
office in said county.
Ordered further, that notice thereof be given to the heirs of said deceased, and to 
all persons interested, by publishing a copy of this order for three successive 
weeks prior to said day of hearing, in the Manitowoc Pilot, a weekly newspaper 
published at Manitowoc in said county.

Died at Roscoe, Kansas, of consumption, Alice Josephine, wife of W.T. Dudley and 
daughter of the late Richard Steele of Manitowoc, Wis.  She leaves a husband and 
3 small children, mother, brothers and sisters to mourn their great loss. She died 
only as a happy Christian can die. Calling her loved ones around her she talked to 
them in a calm, happy and hopeful way (leaving messages for the absent ones) to 
comfort them. She needed no comfort other than she received from the precious Savior, 
to whom she went, at three o'clock Nov. 14th, 1879.

Joseph Dufek of Kewaunee county secured a license from the clerk of Kewaunee 
county last week and had the marriage day fixed and the guests invited. His bride, 
Annie Rebitz, was a resident of this county and Joseph learned when there were 
less than five days to intervene before the marriage day that the license should 
be issued by the clerk of the county in with the intended bride reside. He set off 
post haste for Manitowoc, secured a license and then sought the good offices of 
Judge Anderson to limit the period which must elapse after the issuance of a 
license until a marriage can be solemnized unless a judge interposes. He was so 
earnest in his entreaties and such an honest fellow that the judge granted the 
dispensation and the marriage took place at the time originally appointed.

THIRTY YEARS OF IT.
Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Dumke Married Feb. 6, 1870.
Tuesday marked the close of the thirtieth year of happy 
married life for Mr. and Mrs. John Dumke and at their 
pleasant home last evening, friends and neighbors numbering 
thirty gathered to assist in commemorating the event. In 
music, games and refreshments the evening was made one of 
delight and pleasure, not alone to Mr. and Mrs. Dumke, but 
to the guests as well. The guests were loath to leave and 
in departing left several beautiful gifts as tokens of esteem. 
Mr. Dumek is the well known shoe dealer of the city and has 
been in business here a number of years. The HERALD unites 
with numerous friends in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Dumke a 
continuance of happiness and many more years in which to 
enjoy the same.

Friends Surprise Chas. Dueno and Wife-Make Merry.
At the home of Policeman Charles Dueno on Hamilton street Sunday evening there 
was a scene of joyous revelry and it continued to the wee small hours of morn. 
The occasion was a surprise planned and executed by friends of the genial 
officer, on the twentieth anniversary of his wedding day, which occurred Sunday. 
The family was preparing to retire, when the party arrived and took possession 
of the home. They were made welcome and for several hours the gathering was a 
most merry one. Blue coat Charley is popular not only in his offical capacity, 
but as a man and this was tesified to most heartily in the affair of Sunday 
night. It was the expressed wish that Mr. and Mrs. Dueno might live to celebrate 
many more happy anniversaries.

GOLDEN WEDDING
The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Dusold was celebrated at Saenger Hall last 
Friday evening with a ball. About 250 friends of the couple attended during 
and there was a merry time. They renewed their vows before Justice E.S. Schitz 
who made them agree to get along happily for another fifty years. The Frier 
Saengerbund, of which Mr. Dusold has been a member for a quarter century 
serenaded the couples and a group of friends put in an old fashioned charivari. 
They received numberless letters and telegrams of congratulations. They were 
married at Mishicot, Sept. 18, 1881. The Pilot joins their numerous friends in 
wishing them another half century of domestic felicity together.
