John Paterson, George Wicks Reanier and Miss Edna Adeline Wicker, both of Cato. ******* Marriage of G.W. Reanier to Edna Wicker, Cato Taken from official sources, of those who have become entangled in the matrimonial noose. The time runs from the first of November till date. By statue the official performing the ceremony, is enjoined to file a certificate in the Register's office. We find they are somewhat remiss. Another requirement of law is, that the married couple should file in the Register's office a record of the result, generally within one year from date of marriage. This law is seldom complied with. REDDEN: Mathias m: 24 Feb. 1873 (co. mar. index v.4 p.69) to: Anna Watt Maple Grove, Feb. 28, 1872 (sic). Ed. Pilot.-Last Monday was the occasion (sic) of the celebration of the marriage of Mr. Mat Reddin (sic), of Franklin, and Miss Annie Watt of Maple Grove. In the evening quite a large crowd of young and old people assembled to do honor to the happy couple, and enjoy themselves with a bounteous supper, and "to chase the glowing hours with flying feet." All did justice to the plentiful supply of good things on the table and united in praising the activity and politeness of the head waiter, Mr. Mulholland. After supper, dancing was resumed to the inspiring music of Mr. Jackson's violin, and was kept up to the "wee small hours," when the company dispersed with many kind wishes for the health and prosperity of the youthful couple. REICHERT: Arthur m: 07 Nov 1908 to: Elizabeth A Seidl ***** MARRIED The hangers-on at the city hall comprising among their number several practical jokers and "kidders," were chagrined to learn Monday morning that Arthur Reichert had given them the slip by being quietly married at the St. Boniface parsonage Saturday afternoon to Miss Elizabeth Seidl, a popular south side lady. Mr. Reichert has become a fixture in the city hall, being a veritable walking encyclopedia of city records and rules and an almost indispensable adjunct to the administration of municipal affairs. His uniform curtesy and prompt help fulness to those having business a the city hall has endeared him to all. It is the common opinion that nothing is too good for "Duffy," not even what he has now won, and that's saying that he deserves the best. The city hall was decorated Monday with a great American flag and placards making various announcements calculated to tease Mr. Reichert, who is through long experience, well able to stand up under the chaffing. Manitowoc Daily Herald, Wednesday, October 30, 1901 P. 1 ***** Marriage yesterday evening of Chas. Reinfried with Miss Alice Schuette, daughter of Fred Schuette. Der Nord Westen, 31 Oct. 1901 ***** Marriage Licenses: …Chas. J. Reinfreid of Manitowoc, to Alice Laura Schuette of Manitowoc. Manitowoc Pilot, Wis., Thursday, October 31, 1901 pg. 1 ***** MISS SCHUETTE BECOMES A BRIDE Married to Dr. Chas.J. Reinfreid Last Night SIMPLE AND IMPRESSIVE CEREMONY Rev. D.C. Jones Was the Officiating Minister THE PRESENTS COSTLY AND BEAUTIFUL Bride and Groom Leave the City for a Honeymoon Which Wil Last Two Weeks With ceremony as simple as it was impressive and beautiful Miss Alice Laura Schuette became the bride of Dr. Chas. J. Reinfried last night. The marriage took place at the home of the bride's parents, Fred and Mrs. Schuette. The young girl, who became a wife, plighted her troth, her future and her happiness to the man who had won her affection beneath a bower of palm, in a nuptial parlor, decorated in pink, and to the soft strains of music. No bride of recent days excelled in charm, or made a more lovely picture than did Mrs. Reinfried, nee Alice Schuette, gowned in duchess lace, over white taffeta, standing beside the man, now her husband, committing to him her welfare through all the days yet unborn but are to come. Many were the tender expressions of hope, uttered by the eighty assembled guests, and no bride and groom were ever ushered into the mysteries of the marital estate carrying sincerer well wishes for their happiness than this newly wedded pair. Dr. Reinfried was congratulated on his great, good luck, and he, smilingly, responded to the feeling words, fully appreciating the felicity of his situation. The marriage ceremony was brief, the Rev. D.C. Jones, pastor of the Presbyterian church, heard the vows which made them husband and wife, after which he invoked a blessing on the two. At the conclusion of this necessary service the register was signed, and then the guests moved into the dining room to the strains of the wedding march, where a banquet was served. Around the bridal board, laden with tempting fare, wit and repartee sparkled and made the feast glide happily by. They were hours of glee, hours which come but once in the lives of the principals of this auspicious event. As a bride Miss Schuette had for her maids, Miss Mabel Pritchard, and Miss Blanche Schuette, and for her maid of honor, Miss Mollie Pritchard. William Torrison was chosen best man by the groom and Paul Schuette's office was that of usher. The bride and groom received many presents, costly and beautiful, as tokens, testifying to their worth and bearing heartfelt messages of earnest good wishes for a long and prosperous journey through life. At 10 o'clock last night the doctor and his bride sped away from the city, from a joyous throng bound westward, to revel in the joys of the honeymoon, where the charm of their companionship surpasses the prior delights of the epithalamium. When Mr. and Mrs. Reinfried return they will make their home at the residence of Fred and Mrs. Schuette until next spring. Manitowoc Pilot, Wis., Thursday, October 31, 1901 pg. 1 ***** After Spending two weeks in Chicago, enjoying the felicities of the honeymoon, Dr. and Mrs. C.J. Reinfried have returned home, taking up their residence with Fred and Mrs. Schuette. Manitowoc Pilot, Wis., Thursday, November 14, 1901 pg. 5

RESEBURG: William m: 17 Aug. 1879 (co. mar. index. v.4 p.148) to: Albertine Thiel WILLIAM RESEBURG, chairman of the Town Board, and a resident of section 15, town 28, range 3 west (Withee Township), was born in the Province of Pommern, Prussia, August 9, 1845, the son of Lndwig and Caroline (Berg) Reseburg, both natives of Prussia, and now of Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. The father brought his family to the United States in 1856, settling in the town of Schleswig, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, which was then covered with timber, and they were also among wild animals and Indians. They were poor and all had to work hard. They were the parents of nine children: William, Charles, Caroline, Otto, Bertha, Louis, Julius, Annie and Minnie (twins). The subject of this sketch received but six months schooling in the English language, the rest having been obtained by hard study, and he now has a fair English education. He remained in Manitowoc County until twenty years of age, when he traveled through the States of Iowa and Nebraska, spending ten months in Independence, Iowa. He then went to Menominee, Michigan, and worked in a saw-mill during the summer and in the pineries in winters for three years. He then returned to this State and bought a homestead, which he farmed two years. In the spring of 1879 he came to this county, settling on his present farm, which was then covered with timber. He owns 200 acres of land, and thirty eight is cleared. He has worked hard on this place and for five years, lived in a log cabin, after which he built his present house. Mr. Reseburg was married August 17, 1879, to Albertine Thiel, daughter of William Thiel, of Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. Of their three children, two still survive, namely: William, born April 3, 1883, Anna, born June 14, 1887. Mr. Reseburg was the first chairman of the Town Board in this township, which office he filled six years.
