At the home of Policeman Charles Dueno on Hamilton street Sunday evening there was a scene of joyous revelry and it continued to the wee small hours of morn. The occasion was a surprise planned and executed by friends of the genial officer, on the twentieth anniversary of his wedding day, which occurred Sunday. The family was preparing to retire, when the party arrived and took possession of the home. They were made welcome and for several hours the gathering was a most merry one. Blue coat Charley is popular not only in his offical capacity, but as a man and this was tesified to most heartily in the affair of Sunday night. It was the expressed wish that Mr. and Mrs. Dueno might live to celebrate many more happy anniversaries. Manitowoc Daily Herald, Monday, October 15, 1900 P. 1
