At 10 o'clock in the morning, high mass was celebrated in St. Isadore's church at Osman, the same church in which they were married fifty years ago and the tie which has bound together these loving hearts and endured "for better or for worse", a full half century was fastened by Rev. D. Tierney, one of the first regular priests stationed there. The groomsman was P.J. Conway and the bridesmaid, Miss Katie O'Neil (now Mrs. John Clark of this city). Both were present at the golden wedding. From the church the guests repaired to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brady. A wedding dinner followed at the home at which there was a family reunion including near relatives. The celebration of their fiftieth anniversary of marriage is a happy and notable event. For fifty years, Mr. and Mrs. Brady trustingly and lovingly together, have walked the rugged ways of life from youth to old age and hand in hand and heart in heart on Saturday surrounded by their entire family of ten, some relatives and friends, joyfully celebrated their golden wedding day. We look back along the dim vista of fifty years to the halcyon time of life's sunny morning. We witness their plighted vows at the altar and see them go forth in the pride of life and the glory of their young wedded lives to the struggles of existence. We see them settled in their new home. Well for them they had within themselves treasures of character that supplied their dearest need. They could feel in their souls on the joyful commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage, they had done the best they knew and that now they will trust the good Father for all that is to come. Mr. and Mrs. Brady are both of Irish extraction and were born in the State of New York. Mrs. Brady's maiden name was Margaret Conway. The Conway family settled in Meeme in the early fifties and about the same time the Brady family located in Liberty. Mr. Brady assisted his father on the farm and when he grew up became a school teacher and taught in the county for seventeen years. The personal peculiarities and characteristics of Mr. Brady would alone make him a man of note in any community. He possesses a keen sense of wit and native ability, cultivated intelligence and thoughtful acumen. To Mr. and Mrs. Brady were born eleven children, one of whom is dead. The others are: John, a guard at the state prison at Waupun, Mrs. Ellen Dollard of Madison, Atty. Charles E. Brady of this city, now serving his fourth term as district attorney of Manitowoc County; Joseph, an employee of the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co. of this city; James, manager of the Wisconsin Plumbing Co. of Milwaukee; Walter, at home on the farm; Mary Brady in charge of the home economics department of the Milwaukee agricultural school; Alice Brady, principal of Garfield School of this city; Edwin, a farmer in Liberty and Harold, a salesman for the Aluminum Goods Company at Harrisburg, Pa. Seven of the children were teachers in the city or county during the last thirty years. Mr. and Mrs. Brady have seventeen grandchildren. Thus this worthy couple is happily situated and they calmly watch the coming sunset of a well spent life. The Pilot offers its heartiest congratulations. Those present at the celebration from outside were Rev. Theo Kersten and sister, Hannah, Mr. M.J. O'Connell and daughters, Genevieve and Marion, Mrs. T. K. Hougen, Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Hougen and daughter, Alice, Mr. Earl Ryan (soloist at the wedding), Mrs. Mary Morris and daughter, Mrs. E.S. Crowe of Manitowoc, Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Conway of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Wm Rebachek of Kossuth and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hoban of Meeme. Manitowoc Pilot, Thurs., May 10, 1923

BRANDEIS: Jonas L. b: 14 Nov. 1836, in Bohemia. m: June 1861 to: F. Tweles, of Milwaukee. children: Three sons, one dau. TITANIC LOSS AND DEATH OF BROTHER KILL Hugo Brandeis, Omaha, Born here, Dies From Grief WAS SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS MAN Grief over the death of his brother who was a victim of the Titanic disaster while returning from a trip to Europe is believed to have caused the death of Hugo Brandeis, of Omaha, a former Manitowoc man whose demise at Omaha is reported in papers received by friends of the family here. Mr. Brandeis died at the Wiss Memorial hospital at Omaha Sunday following an operation which his weakened condition could not withstand. Mr. Brandeis, who had not been in robust health, failed rapidly following the death of his brother, Emil Brandeis, who was a passenger on the Titanic when the big steamer was sunk in collision with an iceberg in April and physicians say that his death was hastened by the shock and grief over the loss of his brother to whom he was much attached. A week ago his condition became critical and an operation was advised as a last hope of saving his life and he was removed to the hospital where death followed a few hours after the operation. Youngest son of Jonas Brandeis, founder of the Brandeis mercantile interests at Omaha, among the largest in the west, and one time merchant in this city, decedent was 48? years of age. He was born in this city in 1868 when his father conducted a mercantile establishment on the site of the present National Bank, and at the age of 14 accompanied his family to Omaha, which has since been his home. Mr. Brandeis was associated with his brothers in conduct of the business and was a factor in the building up of the mammoth business of the Brandeis company in the west. At the time of his death he was planning the building of a new home. Mr. Brandeis is survived by his widow to whom he was married twelve years ago. Brangel to Wilhelmina Gradt, Rapids (sic) Taken from official sources, of those who have become entangled in the matrimonial noose. The time runs from the first of November till date. By statue the official performing the ceremony, is enjoined to file a certificate in the Register's office. We find they are somewhat remiss. Another requirement of law is, that the married couple should file in the Register's office a record of the result, generally within one year from date of marriage. This law is seldom complied with. BREIDER: August m: 28 Oct 1890 (co. mar. index v.6 p.64) to: Antonia Kraus KNOWS WHAT HE WANTS Matrimonial Knot was Untied, But He will Remedy the Matter. August Breider, of Sheboygan, was granted a divorce in circuit court here Saturday. August averred that he had been a true and faithful husband, not withstanding which Antonia, his wife, on the 15th day of August, 1898, without cause or provocation, packed her trunk and left, since which time, accordingly she has elected to stay "left". The couple were married at Two Rivers and afterwards moved to Sheboygan. The sequel to the proceedings demonstrated beyond the question of a doubt, that some people don't know when they have enough. The judgement in the case had not been forwarded to the Sheboygan county clerk before August was on deck with an application for a marriage licence (sic) which would permit him to put his caput into the matrimonial noose "once again". Monday morning he secured a license at Sheboygan and when the regulation five days have expired he and Maggie Krueger, also of Sheboygan will conjugate.
