One of the joyous social events of the season was the marriage of Miss Rose Handel to Emil C. Schroeder, which was happily celebrated at that Reformed church Thursday evening. The church was decorated in flowers of June, roses and carnations and palms and ferns loaned beauty to the scene. Rev. Zenk officiated in the ceremony performed at 6:30, and witnessed by a large gathering of friends. The bride, attended by Miss Antoinette Schroeder was attired in a gown of white organdie with trimming of real lace while the groom wore the somber black which conventionality prescribes and had for his groomsman George Haupt. Following the ceremony a wedding dinner and reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Wm. Hacker. To Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder the best wishes of many friends will be extended. Both are children of Manitowoc and well known in social circles. Of the bride’s charming personality and genial sunshiny disposition a host of friends can speak. Possessed of many graces of ??? and person she is well qualified to bring happiness into the life of the man of her choice. The groom is a young man of sterling worth enjoying advantages of excellent business qualifications and thorough industrious habits. He is employed as electrician for the Manitowoc Electric Light Co., and is in every way worthy the prize he has won in Cupid’s lottery. Mr. and Mrs. Schroeder will make their home at 617 N. Main street. Manitowoc Daily Herald, Friday, June 21, 1901, p. 1 ***** Miss Rose Handel and Emil C. Schroeder were married at the Reformed church last Thursday night.
